Strand glares at Dahla.
[Fandle] says: I'd b'uncomfortable if I suddenly had breasts too!
[Geril] says: C'mon, c'mon... I can heal you. I promise.
[Dahla] says: But... you can't do proper Mellor voices like this, can you?
Wren unwraps a candy and pops it into her mouth
[Strand] says: Course I can.
Dahla shakes her head with a grin, heading for the fire. "All right, then...
Bodhran stares at Wren, mouth agape
Oriion sniffs Geril a bit, finally settling down.
Wren looks down at herself
[Wren] says: Bodhran....do I look more orange all of a sudden?
Wren rubs her eyes
Dahla stifles a soft laugh, just grinning. She looks over to Wren, and grins more.
[Strand] says: Aye.
[Bodhran] says: Aye, have you been eating a few to many...carrots I suppose?
Geril looks at Wren for a while, "What have you been eating? You look sick."
Wren looks more closely at the candy wrapper
[Wren] says: It doesn't say anything about side effects..
Fandle settles down beside the fire as he slides his goggles back on, adjusting them over his eyes.
[Wren] says: Maybe it's not meant for elves
Oriion licks his chops at the boar.
[Dahla] says: Hmm. Some people react funny...
[Strand] says: I had that one happen to me.
Strand sighs.
Bodhran enjoys a candy treat of chocolate
Dahla grins at Oriion. "Dinner?"
[Oriion] says: I'm letting it cook.
Oriion snickers
Dahla laughs softly and nods.
Dahla looks around with a grin. "Well, it wouldn't be story night without half the folks straggling in much later..."
Dahla smiles and waves at Diallia.
Diallia reaches over and pets the big cat
Oriion purrs at Diallia.
Geril shakes his head, "I have trouble with people who are late..."
Diallia waves at Dahla.
[Dahla] says: Maybe we could get Fandle here to 'fix' them.
[Bodhran] says: At least some things never change
[Geril] says: Please.
[Fandle] says: Hey Mister! I'll let y'try your wand if y'let me try mine!*He nods at Geril.*
[Dahla] says: Interpretive wanding.
Dahla nods, sage.
Geril looks at the Gnome skeptically for a moment, "Okay... But I try first."
Strand looks broody.
Bodhran stretches, removes his tabard and straightens his clothing
Wren looks on with interest as she unwraps another candy
Fandle scratches his chin pondering for a moment before he nods.
[Wren] says: Maybe I should stop eating these
Geril points his wand at the Gnome carefully and shoots it.
Bodhran whispers to Wren 'That's really unsettling'
Wren holds out a hand and looks at her orange skin
Geril stares in wonder at the sparkling wisp.
Dahla snickers softly, then says, "Ooh. Fireworks indeed. You're... like those things in Darnassus."
[Dahla] says: That chime.
Geril looks down at his outfit, "How... Bah!"
Geril grumbles, looking at himself again.
Wren reaches over and gives Bodhran's hand a squeeze "unsettling for me too!"
Dahla laughs as Geril goes gnome. "I think... you have a bad skin condition, there."
Bodhran is creeped out by Geril
[Geril] says: I don't feel too good...
[Fandle] says: Y'don't look so good either.
Dahla glances to the empty spot beside her. "Wispy things."
Geril looks at his new transformation, "well, my skin isn't so bad anymore."
[Dahla] says: Oh, Geril. Dashing. Maybe we should set you up with Strand...
Wren raises a drink to Geril. Cheers!
Wren grins at Dahla
[Strand] says: Trinn would use her polearm.
[Diallia] says: I think I ate too many carrots today
Geril winks at Strand and licks his lips.
[Dahla] says: I'm afraid of Trinn's polearm. I'll shush.
[Wren] says: hrm..
Bodhran shies away from Wren slowly
Dahla grins at Diallia, before doing a double-take.
[Dahla] says: ... uh... Wren?
[Wren] says: what?
Geril coughs...
[Wren] says: Did the candy do something else?
[Dahla] says: You look... kinda skinny.
Geril winks at Strand and licks her lips.
[Dahla] says: I don't think you're eating enough.
[Wren] says: Really?
[Diallia] says: I have this desire to start bombarding poor wren with holy magic....
Wren holds out a hand and gasps
[Geril] says: That's okay, I could heal him up no problem. Just need a healthy dose of holy light.
[Geril] says: ... Her... It... Thingy.
[Dahla] says: And here I thought this would be a normal story night. Except... it is.
[Diallia] says: Fandle... could you pull the next one further from our camp?
[Fandle] says: Okay, sorry!
Wren looks over at Bodhran helplessly
[Wren] says: I don't know what to do!
Dahla looks between Geril and Strand, arching a brow. "Well. Looks like it's Lady's Night at Storytelling."
Diallia pokes around for the invisible cat and then pets it under the chin.
[Bodhran] says: An exorcism?
Strand looks dire.
Wren shakes her head
Bodhran sighs with relief
Wren smiles at Bodhran.
Bodhran smiles at Wren.
Dahla clears her throat and grins, standing. "Well, we may have a small audience, but we always seem to garner more as the night progresses."
Wren reaches down and tugs gently on Bodhran's beard "I think I'm ok now"
Geril thinks its time to move the circle.
Bodhran chuckles softly
Bodhran greets Kurlann warmly.
Wren greets Kurlann with a hearty hello!
Kurlann greets everyone with a hearty hello!
Kurlann kneels down.
[Dahla] says: So, welcome everyone to tonight's Story Night. Ingarath sends his apologies that he can't be here to host tonight, so I'll be doing so in his stead. I'm Dahla Winvale, and it's good to see so many folks here, new and familiar alike.
Bodhran grins wickedly at Wren.
Kurlann smiles at Dahla.
Bodhran cheers at Dahla!
Wren warms a sausage in the fire before taking a bite
Fandle glances over his shoulder at the squirrel as he leans in, “How’d y'make it work? I still can't get my hands on the schematics?"
Dahla beams around the circle. "Now, I know people like to -- Hi Flit! -- save some of their tales for a larger audience, but we may as well get started and what people miss, is their own loss."
Flit waves at Dahla.
[Dahla] says: Now, who's our first vic -- er, person with something to share?
Oriion looks around the circle. Hesitantly, he stomps his paw on the ground.
Kurlann strokes his bear casually.
Strand grins to Oriion.
Dahla looks to Oriion and smiles, nodding. "Please, share with us, Oriion!"
Flit beams at the giant kitty cat.
Bodhran lets out a sharp whistle
Diallia reaches over and scratches the giant kitty cat behind the ears
[Oriion] says: ....There is a.-- gah, I can't speak in this form. Excuse me.
Geril examines himself thoroughly.
[Oriion] says: That's better.
Kurlann lets out a hearty chuckle.
Wren reaches back to give Brum a pat on the head
[Oriion] says: There is an old saying among us Druids...
Diallia pulls her hand back and places it in her lap
Dahla grins back to her right, murmuring, "Different vocal chords."
[Oriion] says: [Darnassian] Thus no fulo al tal dor alah
Kurlann blinks at Oriion.
[Oriion] says: Roughly translated, it reads "Fist or claw, we are the wild." You can draw your own conclusions.
Kurlann nods at Oriion.
Strand listens interestedly.
Bodhran takes a brief note
Dahla looks to Oriion with interest, considering that.
[Oriion] says: Now this should be inherent in any druid. But with a recent... situation.. of mine, I was recently treated to irregular shapeshifting patterns.
[Oriion] says: To cut to the chase, for a time I had permanently shifted into a bear form; not just body, mind you, but my spirit, my thoughts- all feral. This was in Un'Goro.
Oriion takes in a breath, trying to recall correctly.
Geril mumbles something about Bears being prey in Un'goro.
[Oriion] says: I can only tell you what I recall from dreams and fuzzy memories, but I believe it happened like this...
Kurlann gasps at Matek.
Dahla nods as she listens, brow furrowing slightly in thought.
Bodhran waves at Bor.
[Oriion] says: I felt a pain surge through my body. Not like getting cut or hit, but a pain of not being in control; of a bestial wrath forcing me into submission.
Oriion grins
[Oriion] says: The plants around me, which some of you know have a mind of their own, danced a bit. Sort of.. taunting me. Inviting me to join a half of nature I can not seen, due to my Kaldorei spirit.
Bor greets everyone with a hearty hello!
Kurlann waves at Bor.
Oriion smiles at Bor.
Bodhran nods at Bor.
Oriion clears his throat, recalling what happened next
[Oriion] says: Next I remember, and forgive me for the weak segue, I had been challenged. I can only imagine the wildlife has a sense for what is of it's own kind and what is foreign, for this had never happened before, but...
[Oriion] says: A ravasaur, whose name I could not begin to pronounce in this tongue, challenged me on his territory. Not the way they attack us, mind you, but a challenge of the wild.
Dahla 's eyes widen as she listens, rapt.
Flit looks curious.
Kurlann gasps at Oriion.
[Oriion] says: I suppose my bestial mind accepted, for it was no sooner that this creature leapt at me, clawing and biting as only a ravasaur can. Now if you know me, you know this isn't a problem.
Oriion winks
Flit blinks at Oriion.
Strand nods, listening.
[Oriion] says: The problem came when 5 other ravasaurs joined in. If I had my consciousness at that point, I'm sure I would've thought, "Clever girl...."
A sly smirk spreads across Kurlann's face.
Flit giggles at Oriion.
Dahla bites down on a grin, nodding as she listens.
[Oriion] says: Now I don't want to bore you with all the action details, so I'll just say I'm sorry I didn't get to skin all of them afterwards.
Kurlann cheers at Oriion!
Dahla looks relieved, though obviously if he's here to tell the story he must have survived it...
Flit smiles.
[Oriion] says: Also, I may have neglected to mention that ravasaurs are very closely related to devilsaurs. And by closely related, I mean they apparently avenge each other's deaths.
[Dahla] says: ... oh no.
[Flit] says: Uh oh. . .
Oriion cracks his neck, continuing..
[Kurlann] says: Ach...
Bodhran raises an eyebrow
[Geril] says: Mmm.... I've met one before.
[Oriion] says: I've fought devilsaurs, and I've fought devilsaurs. But what the ravasaurs brought be to, was neither.
[Oriion] says: This... was a devilsaur.
[Geril] says: Ah. Okay. Big difference between them.
Oriion wipes a strand of hair from his face.
[Oriion] says: Exactly, Geril.
[Dahla] says: Well, some are different colors... I think...
Kurlann nods at Dahla.
[Oriion] says: About.. a 30 foot difference.
[Flit] says: An' they have glowy eyes! An' they chase ya!
[Oriion] says: Has anyone heard of King Mosh?
Bodhran counts in his head and nods in agreement
Strand shakes his head.
Diallia raises her hand
Bodhran nods at Oriion.
Flit attempts to make a face like a devilsaur. It involves making chomping gestures with her hands.
[Kurlann] says: Aye, big nasteh'!
Diallia nods
[Dahla] says: Oh, Light. King? Of the Devilsaurs? Is that like the King of the Apes?
[Flit] says: Prolly worse!
[Oriion] says: Well obviously that's his name given by us. His true name is a bit more terrifying.
Oriion shudders, remembering this part vividly
[Oriion] says: The wild did NOT welcome a bear in their crater, and it was obvious what the strongest beast there wanted from me-- my life.
Dahla shivers, the thought of a single bear up against... one of those. She gives a tiny wave to the newcomer, but is otherwise wrapped up in this story.
Daemok smiles at Dahla.
[Oriion] says: Perhaps it was his chaotic nature, or just bad luck. Whatever it was, had triggered something in me and.. well, I had regained my composure. That is to say, I had "awoken" to a being of far superior strength ready to crush me.
[Flit] says: That's not a good way t'wake up! I usually like coffee. . .
[Oriion] says: Hell, I was not about to shift out of my bear form. Good thing, because when his foot struck me, I can't imagine I would have survived it any other way.
Kurlann nods at Daemok.
[Oriion] says: I must have flew farther than a zeppelin. I swear, I landed on the border of Tanaris. Granted, the fall hurt even more than his foot, but I'm lucky he decided to kick me and not stomp on me.
Flit winces.
Strand winces.
[Oriion] says: So, I did what any smart animal does when its ribs are crushed. I slept.
Wren leans down and whispers to Bodhran
Dahla grimaces and nods.
[Oriion] says: I'm not too good with wrapping these things up, so I'll just say I'm glad to be here now, and not clawing my way up from under Un'Goro dirt.
Oriion bows down graciously.
Wren sighs with relief
Bodhran smiles at Wren.
Oriion stretches out, settling back down.
Dahla nods and breathes out a deep sigh, smiling at Oriion.
Wren applauds at Oriion. Bravo!
[Dahla] says: Light knows, we'd rather have you here with us, too!
Bodhran claps excitedly for Oriion.
[Kurlann] says: A foin tale lad, glad t'ear tha' ole Mosh didn' ge' th' best o' ya!
Dahla applauds at Oriion. Bravo!
Flit claps excitedly for Oriion.
[Daemok] says: I only caught the end of it, but that was quite the story.
[Dahla] says: Thank you so much for sharing that tale with us, Oriion.
Strand claps excitedly for Oriion.
Dahla nods at Daemok.
[Wren] says: A brave tale! I think we're all relieved you made it back to us
Oriion smiles meekly.
[Geril] says: Thank god you survived. I hear the stomach of a devilsaur isn't comfortable.
Bodhran takes notes about 'mind of the crater'
Dahla smiles at the slowly-growing circle. "Well now. Who next has something to share with us? Don't be shy... we don't bite. Except for Oriion."
Kurlann coughs lightly.
Dahla grins over at Kurlann. "Was that a volunteering sort of noise, or a crickets chirping sort of noise?"
Flit grins.
[Daemok] says: Go on Kurly. Tell us a story.
[Kurlann] says: Nah, oi 'avent aneh tales.
Kurlann frowns.
Dahla grins at the dwarf and nods. "If you do have one to share, please, by all means."
[Dahla] says: If not, well. I think I have a couple rattling around in my head.
[Kurlann] says: Mebbeh aftar oi've 'eard a few mesalf.
Kurlann smiles.
Dahla nods to Kurlann with a warm smile. "I understand completely."
[Dahla] says: Well then. If there aren't any folks keen to share at this instant in time...
[Flit] says: Tell one, Dahla! Tell one!
Flit grins.
Dahla winks at Flit. "All right then, I'd love to."
Flit sits back, beaming.
[Dahla] says: Well, I've told many stories about my friend, the ferryman. This, is going to be another one of those.
Bodhran smiles at the thought
Wren greets Kailie warmly.
Bodhran greets Kailie warmly.
Kailie waves at Wren.
[Dahla] says: Now, he's been many places, and has seen many things. Things I sometimes have a hard time believing, but this one? This wasn't one of those.
Strand looks pleased.
Kurlann greets Kailie with a hearty hello!
Dahla beams a smile at Kailie and waves, before going on. "Now, I don't know how many of you have seen the Searing Gorge. Frightening, dry, place."
Flit nods.
Wren nods
Bodhran nods.
[Dahla] says: It's. Ah. Rather volcanically active, too.
[Kurlann] says: Fulla nutteh dwarves!
Dahla scratches her cheek. "Well. A dwarf friend of mine once told me that things like volcanoes come from places where... the earth is moving against itself. And let me tell you, that place is notorious for that, too.
Dahla nods at Kurlann with a grin. "It is! Although it wasn't always. According to my friend, at least."
Bodhran darkens slightly at the thought
[Dahla] says: See, he also says there was a river that ran through there, once.
Kurlann nods at Dahla.
[Dahla] says: ... hence, you know. A ferryman being able to visit.
Oriion raises an eyebrow in curiosity.
Alixia smiles at Fandle.
[Dahla] says: Well. He has some fairly bad luck... and wouldn't you know, as he's paddling his boat down the river... the earth began to quiver.
[Flit] says: Who'd want ferried /there/?
Dahla shrugs at Flit. "Not a clue. He said business was pretty slow, but maybe some prospectors or the like might like an established route that didn't involve... uh, dragons."
[Dahla] says: So the earth... it shivered.
[Dahla] says: And then it shook.
Flit waves at Jegen.
[Dahla] says: And then the river he was paddling on? Suddenly began to flow in the opposite direction.
Dahla bites her lip. "There was a roar of water, as a great crack had split the earth... right through the river. And the river, was quickly emptying into that huge crack.
[Daemok] says: Oh my.
[Dahla] says: My friend, the ferryman, and his boat? Also heading in that direction.
[Flit] says: Uh oh. . .
Wren listens intently to Dahla.
Oriion tries to remember this for his history collection, taking careful note of the environment.
[Kailie] says: yikes!
[Dahla] says: So, he did what anyone aboard a boat careening towards a sudden waterfall that plunged into the depths of the earth would do.
Daemok has no idea what that would be.
[Dahla] says: He panicked.
Kurlann nods.
[Geril] says: Oh, of course!
[Flit] says: 'S the sensible thing t'do!
Bodhran nods in agreement
Dahla grins faintly, nodding. "It is! I'd do it. So, he threw himself overboard."
Strand nods.
Bodhran waves at Diallia.
[Dahla] says: As it stands, that saved his life. He caught up on a jutting rock as his boat washed past, and fell... well.
Wren waves at Deren.
[Dahla] says: He never did hear it hit bottom. Only the rush of water.
Kailie smiles at Deren.
Dahla gives Deren a wave and a grin, going back to her story. "He hauled himself up out of the water, soaking and exhausted, but still alive. But without his boat."
[Dahla] says: And uh. Without a river anymore. The whole thing was gone.
[Wren] says: Just all around a bad time to be a ferryman
Oriion smiles at Wren.
Dahla nods at Wren enthusiastically. "Absolutely. So he went home."
Diallia lurks over wren and menacingly juggles her head
Dahla grins at Diallia as she continues. "Now, his boat was insured. Useful thing, what with river pirates and the like."
[Dahla] says: But... the mages he'd set up his insurance with? They refused to pay for his boat, as he had "No-fault" insurance... and the earthquake was, well, on a fault.
Wren follows the looming shadow and glances behind her and then hastily away
Maedaine sits quietly, turning her attention to the speaker.
Bodhran mutters 'insurance thieves'
[Flit] says: Ooooh. Were they a goblin company.
Vindicis sits quietly.
Strand says experimentally, "Arrrr," in a nice alto.
Wren grins at Dahla
[Dahla] says: Goblin mages. Very, very untrustworthy.
Wren greets Murdi with a hearty hello!
[Daemok] says: Very profit motivated.
[Dahla] says: Well my friend, the Ferryman, was incensed. It wasn't fair.
Bodhran greets Murdi warmly.
Murdi waves at Wren.
Bodhran nods at Dahla.
[Daemok] says: So what did he do?
[Dahla] says: So he tried to gather people together, and got himself a brilliant lawyer -- who was a mouse, but that's a whole different story -- and tried to create a fund to fight against this unfairness.
Oriion didn't even know there were goblin mages..
Flit beams.
Wren cheers
Kurlann double takes to his right.
Kurlann gasps at Strand.
Strand beams.
Dahla grins and waves at the newcomers, not missing a beat in her story. "Well, he called it the Searing Gorge Fund. Sadly, though, nothing ever came of it... hardly anyone would contribute to it."
[Flit] says: Awwwww.
Vindicis nods to Dahla encouragingly.
[Strand] says: Why not?
[Dahla] says: The general feeling was that charity was one thing, but that was just being generous to a fault.
Daemok chuckles at Dahla.
Flit blinks and then giggles.
Kurlann chuckles at Dahla.
Wren groans slightly and smiles at Dahla
Geril swats the tail of the creature above him, trying to get it away.
Dahla clears her throat and grins, pleased to have gotten a groan.
[Adilisa] says: Oh, sorry
Maedaine laughs softly, covering her mouth.
[Adilisa] says: Go home Kagero
Strand groans.
Dahla takes a small bow.
Wren applauds at Dahla. Bravo!
Daemok claps excitedly for Dahla.
[Wren] says: Well told Dahla as always!
Adilisa claps excitedly for Dahla.
Maedaine applauds at Dahla. Bravo!
[Dahla] says: Now, with all these new additions... surely someone else has something they're just burning to share!
Wren ponders trying to light another fire
Geril groans, but applauds anyway.
Kurlann applauds at Dahla. Bravo!
Murdi cheers at Dahla!
Strand slips off quietly, looking pensive.
Daemok whispers to Kurlann. "Can I see you a moment?"
Geril clears his throat, "Well, I could try..."
[Diallia] says: I have a few threads of yarn that can be spun
Kurlann nods at Daemok.
[Diallia] says: into a tale
Dahla beams at Diallia. "Please then!"
Adilisa cheers at Diallia!
Wren looks at the fire, pleased
Bodhran smiles at Dahla.
Vindicis smiles up at Diallia
Maedaine glances towards the human lady and smiles, nodding encouragingly.
Murdi nods at Diallia.
Bodhran looks at Murdi, slightly confused
[Diallia] says: So, How many of you brave souls have ventured into the Twilight Grove on your many adventures?
Dahla grins over at Geril. "You're next, too. Sorry about that."
Bodhran raises his hand
Murdi shakes his rear at Diallia.
Diallia smiles and nods knowingly
[Diallia] says: And how many of you have seen the dragon that now lurks there?
[Oriion] says: Dragon? Really?
[Flit] says: Oooooh. Really?
Oriion hasn't been there in forever..
[Bodhran] says: The child of Ysera?
Dahla looks surprised. "Truly?"
Murdi sadly shakes his head, he has not seen it.
Diallia nods sagely
Maedaine 's ears perk. "Dragon?"
Vindicis chuckles slightly
[Diallia] says: There is a huge green dragon from the dream I am told... corrupted and vile now lurking in the grove...
Bodhran nods at Dialla, a distant look in his eyes
[Diallia] says: He's huge, and I saw him devour an innocent druid just yesterday, but alas my tale is not about him
[Diallia] says: I just wanted your attention
Diallia smirks
Oriion lets out a hearty chuckle.
Bodhran glares at Dialla in mock anger
Murdi smiles at Diallia.
[Diallia] says: So there I was one day many a year ago walking about the mountain peaks of Winterspring
Auturgen smiles warmly as he looks over to the storyteller, eager to hear more..
[Diallia] says: I had with my good friend Domo.....
Diallia shakes her head
[Diallia] says: How many of you folks have meet the crazed warrior Domo?
Flit shakes her head.
Maedaine ponders then shakes her head.
Bodhran raises his hand again
Wren nods and raises her hand as well
[Diallia] says: Well, Domo, Tinga, Thanek, and I were off an about looking for things to do up in those snowy mountains...
[Diallia] says: And Domo finds this cave and looks to the rest of us.
Murdi looks to Diallia with interest
Dahla glances over to Geril, a bit relieved.
Geril looks around awkwardly, an empty hand in front of his chest.
[Diallia] says: He smiles and then laughs before saying "So now that we have shelter.... for a storm.... who do we eat first if we get trapped in the mountains when that storm comes up?" Pointing off into the clear blue sky.
Flit giggles at Diallia.
Diallia shakes her head laughing
Auturgen grins at Diallia.
Dahla grins at Diallia, nodding.
[Diallia] says: He then takes out his fork and knife and started to poke poor thanek in the shoulder. "Ahh... dwarf meat.. lots of it too!"
Kurlann gasps at Diallia.
Murdi shudders
[Dahla] says: Naw. Dwarves are all tough and stringy...
Diallia holds up her hand laughing
Murdi agrees
[Diallia] says: You have to understand Domo...
[Diallia] says: it was all in fun...
[Diallia] says: besides, Thanek's the only one of us who could cook.... so...
Diallia laughs more
Murdi chuckles with sudden relief
[Diallia] says: Anyway about that time a blue dragonkin decided we were much much to close and broke up our fun discussion...
Kurlann kneels down.
[Diallia] says: but alas we learned something that day...
[Diallia] says: Never... never travel with a hungry warrior... unless you bring plenty of food.
Kurlann grins wickedly.
Flit nods sagely.
Deren grins wickedly at Diallia.
Maedaine giggles.
Wren laughs quietly
Murdi chuckles at Diallia.
Diallia bows before Maedaine.
Kailie giggles
Wren claps excitedly for Diallia.
Diallia bows down graciously.
Dahla laughs at Diallia, applauding.
Geril grins widely.
Bodhran claps excitedly for Diallia.
Flit claps excitedly for Diallia.
Vindicis laughs and applauds
Oriion gives his silent nod of approval.
[Diallia] says: And now that I'm done with my whimsically pointless story
[Diallia] says: I think... Geril is next?
[Geril] says: Eh, oh boy.
Dahla grins at Diallia and nods. "Thank you so much, Diallia, for the story!"
[Geril] says: Okay, okay. I'd like to apologize in advance... I've got a bad memory... Especially for stories I heard when I was a child.
Voletta quietly takes a seat in the grass.
[Geril] says: Now, in the spirit of the season, I have a story about spirits. Sort of. Now, I can't remember the beginning of the story so well, not the middle. In fact, I'm rather hazy about the ending too.
Flit giggles at Deren.
Bodhran takes Wren's hand in his own and smiles
Murdi giggles at Geril.
[Geril] says: Anyhow, here goes.
Dahla grins at Geril.
Flit grins wickedly at Geril.
Oriion turns his attention to Geril.
Wren squeezes Bodhran's hand gently and smiles back
[Geril] says: Let's see, the story started in this quiet little town... I'm not going to bother with a name...
[Kurlann] says: Oy lad, take it elsewhar.
[Geril] says: Now, this man was moving in to town, and was looking for a house.
[Rainah] yells: Rain! This way
Voletta listens to the speaker.
[Geril] says: So, he's with a realtor, and they are looking for houses. Unfortunately, there was only one house available.
[Geril] says: Anyhow, as they're walking by the house, the realtor says it's for sale fairly cheap. Only a few gold.
Maedaine blinks at Geril.
[Geril] says: The man looks at the house. It is a big grand house, a palace in itself. A bit shady, but worth more than a few gold. He asks the realtor why it cost so little.
[Rainah] says: I did....but you took too long.
[Geril] says: "Well," the realtor said, "There are rumors that some ghosts live in that house."
Rainey gives her sister a short glare
[Rainey] says: glare*
Vindicis nods slowly, his eyes on Geril.
[Geril] says: The realtor continued "In fact, I've heard of the worst of them, a horrible one named Alexander"
Rainah sticks her tongue out at Rain.
Murdi gets uneasy at the thought of a ghost.
Voletta wonders if she can locate a curse for annoying elves, and thumbs through her spellbook.
Bodhran welcomes Rainah and Rainey
[Geril] says: The man looking for the house...
Geril scratches his head.
Rainah glances at Auturgen beside her then to the speaker.
Rainey points a warning finger at Ray
[Geril] says: I should give the man a name... We'll call him Theodore.
Auturgen looks over to the two remarkably similar women to his side and smiles softly.
Voletta listens to Geril.
[Geril] says: Anyhow, Theodore says, "That's no problem. I'm not scared of ghosts. They aren't bad at all."
[Geril] says: So, Theodore pays the man his money, and moves into the house.
Rainey smirks at the man beside her sister
Rainah elbows her sister.
[Geril] says: It seems like a nice place, until one dark and stormy night...
[Rainey] says: What!?
Dahla listens with interest to Geril's tale, grinning.
Rainey covers her mouth a little as she speaks out
Auturgen grins and looks over to Geril and continues to listen to his story.
[Geril] says: Theodore is sitting in his room, reading a book by the fireplace, when he hears a swishing sound outside his door.
Rainah whispers to Rain.
Oriion looks down at his swishing tail.
Kailie gets a shiver down her spine
Rainey leans in with Ray and whispers back
[Geril] says: Then his door bursts open, and a fairly sized ghost floats in speaking in a voice that sounds tired and mournful, "Beware! Beware!!--"
Geril looks around blankly, and rubs the side of his head.
Rainah smiles to herself.
Kurlann gasps.
Rainey cocks a brow
Murdi shudders.
Geril leans over and asks Dahla what the name of the most horrible ghost was supposed to be.
Dahla murmurs a hushed, "Alexander", patting his foot.
Rainah glances at Rain as she shifts slightly - making herself more comfortable.
[Geril] says: Oh, yes... "Beware! Beware!! Alexander comes at midnight! He is the most horrible ghost ever!"
[Geril] says: Oh, I should have mentioned it was about nine at night then.
Rainey scrunches up her nose and looks at Ray
[Geril] says: Anyhow, Theodore states clearly that he is not afraid of ghosts. In fact, he invites the ghost there to stay with him.
Rainah feeling a chill she summons a small flame that seems to roll over her fingertips.....she passes it from one hand to the next.
[Geril] says: So, the ghost sits on the bed and waits.
Rainey smiles watching her sister
Rainey flicks the flame with her finger causing it to turn into ice
[Geril] says: Anyhow, nine rolls around... Er... Ten, that's right... Ten rolls around.
Rainah frowns at Rain.
Rainey smiles playfully
Rainah summons the flame again as she half turns away from her sis.
Auturgen absently scratches the red mark on his arm as he heaves a heavy sigh, his attention still focused on the ..paranormal story.
[Geril] says: The door bursts open again, and a ghost floats in. This one is larger than the first, it looks scarier than the first, with glowing eyes and weird teeth.
Oriion tilts his head curiously.
[Geril] says: "Beware! Beware!! Alexander comes at midnight! He is the most horrible ghost ever!!"
Dahla blinks, murmuring, "You'd never get a good night's sleep in there..."
Rainah giggles to herself.
Voletta smiles.
Maedaine fidgets slightly and her shadows begin to creep along her wrists and ankles.
Rainey motions to the man sitting in front of them with her head
[Geril] says: Theodore shakes his head, "No, you're not so scary. I'm not afraid of ghosts."
Murdi smiles. Theodore is a brave man.
[Geril] says: So the second ghosts joins the first, and says, "He doesn't understand about Alexander!"
Rainah glances at her sister then the flame - shakes her head and hisses her sister a "no way"
Flit scratches her nose.
[Geril] says: Anyhow, they settle down. Soon enough, eleven rolls around. Theodore hears some loud swooshing sounds and some growling outside the door.
Rainey 's mouth drop like saying "Come on"
[Geril] says: The door opens slowly, and a huge ghost, almost to big to fit through the door, crawls in.
Rainah claps her hands together once so the flame vanishes.
[Flit] says: Oooooh.
Rainey sighs at Rainah.
[Geril] says: This ghost is huge! It's got glowing eyes, huge fangs, and rotting flesh and rusty ancient armor.
[Geril] says: "Beware! Beware!! Alexander is coming at midnight! Prepare yourself, for he is the most horrible ghost ever!"
Rainah leans in and whispers to her sister.
[Geril] says: Well, Theodore is actually scared by this ghost now, but he maintains his stance for the time being, "No, uh-uh. I'm not afraid of ghosts. I'm not afraid of Alexander."
[Geril] says: The gruesome ghost figure says, "Oh, be ready. Alexander is such a horrible ghost... Even the ghosts don't like him."
Murdi waits expectantly to hear more
Dahla shivers, listening intently.
Voletta glances over to Cio, wondering why he's standing so far away.
[Geril] says: Now, Theodore spends the next hour thinking about Alexander... I mean, he's the most horrible ghost ever! Even the regular ghosts don't like him. He's probably really bad... Anyhow, midnight rolls around...
[Murdi] says: and?
Diallia holds herself close and fingers one of her symbols of divinity
Maedaine shudders softly, her shadows thickening, her hands moving up and down her arms, as if to warm herself.
Wren shivers in anticipation
[Geril] says: The ghosts in the room already start bellowing, "Beware! Prepare yourself! Alexander is coming! The most horrible ghost ever!!!"
Vindicis slides closer to Maedaine, wrapping his arms around her
Rainey mumbles "We get it already"
[Geril] says: Swooshing sounds could be heard outside the door. A ghost was approaching.
Maedaine glances at Vindicis, smiling in appreciation.
Rainah lifts a blade of grass up and lights the tip on fire with the touch of her finger.....head in her hand she watches it burn.
Vindicis smiles warmly back.
Auturgen covers his yawn with his hand as he shakes his head awake and glances over the people around Geril.
[Geril] says: The door knob turns slowly, and the ghosts continue "Prepare yourself! Alexander is not what you can imagine! He is very horrible!"
Daemok smiles knowingly at Rainah.
[Geril] says: Theodore finally gives in to fright, gripping the chair with white knuckles, and shivering at the approaching ghost.
Voletta gently scratches Cio behind the ears and listens to the story.
Wren realizes she's squeezing Bodhran's hand rather hard and relaxes her grip
Rainey watches her sister intently
Murdi inches a little closer to lovely Kailie.
Bodhran shoots a comforting glance at Wren and leans closer
Rainah lets the grass burn away and lets the flame encircle her hand once again...she seems unaffected and almost bored with her burning hand. She twists it in the air to watch the flame.
[Geril] says: The door opens slowly, and a ghost walks in. It's the ghost of a small white kitten. Theodore looks at it and sighs in relief, "They were right, you're kinda a horrible ghost."
Flit giggles at Geril.
Kailie laughs at Geril.
Murdi is somewhat relieved and smiles at Geril.
Oriion rolls his eyes.
Murdi giggles at Geril.
Rainah smiles lightly at Geril.
Dahla bursts out laughing, and begins to applaud for Geril.
Maedaine scratches her head.
Wren smiles with relief
Bodhran claps excitedly for Geril.
Flit applauds at Geril. Bravo!
Kailie claps excitedly for Geril.
Geril looks a bit angry as he takes his seat.
Auturgen watches the sisters to his side out of the corner of his eye and their toying around with fire.
Dahla stands, still grinning. "Thank you, Geril, for a great story."
Xenkore approaches slowly, and looks around to see who he knew. He smiled to all his Winter's End allies, and nodded to Dahla, and Geril.
Maedaine glances to Vindicis, with her eyebrow raised, whispering "Human humor?"
Geril waves at Xenkore.
[Dahla] says: Now, we seem to have gathered quite a few more people! Who next has something to share?
Dahla smiles and waves at Xenkore.
Rainey unphased by the end holds her hand flat up to her mouth and blows gently causing a light dust fall onto the grass laying a beautiful frost upon it
[Oriion] says: Sorry all, but I need to take my leave tonight..
Vindicis chuckles softly and squeezes her shoulder.
Diallia turns and whispered
Xenkore approached the circle, and sat down amidst them.
Wren waves her hand at Dahla and stands
Oriion bows down graciously.
[Dahla] says: Thank you for coming, Oriion... take care! Ah, and Wren.
[Dahla] says: Please, please. Do tell us a tale.
[Oriion] says: Thank you.
[Diallia] says: the point of a ghost story dear is to build the story and end it well..
Murdi waves at Oriion.
[Wren] says: I think I'm ready to tell mine
[Diallia] says: this one ended very well
Rainah holds her flaming hand out to melt the frost.
Kurlann hugs Daemok.
Kurlann claps Daemok on the back!
Daemok smiles at Kurlann.
[Wren] says: Perhaps a new fire first
Rainey smiles at Ray
[Kurlann] says: Oi owe ye one lad.
[Daemok] says: Enjoy the new gift friend.
[Kurlann] says: ,
[Diallia] says: Well alas folks I have to be going
Kurlann grins wickedly at Daemok.
[Wren] says: That's better
Kurlann gasps at Snubby.
Rainah smiles lightly and banishes the flame with the flick of her wrist.
Maedaine shrugs softly, still not getting the point of the story.
Vindicis nods up to Diallia, smiling.
[Wren] says: So yes! A new story
Daemok waves goodbye to Kurlann. Farewell!
[Diallia] says: To all a great tale and a good thread tonight
Kurlann waves goodbye to Daemok. Farewell!
Diallia bows down graciously.
Maedaine glances slyly at Diallia and smiles.
Rainey lays her head on Rainahs shoulder out of boredom
Murdi waves goodbye to Diallia. Farewell!
[Maedaine] says: Safe journeys to you.
Auturgen gives Diallia a small wave good bye.
Wren stops to wave goodbye to Diallia
Kailie waves goodbye to Diallia. Farewell!
Adilisa giggles at Great Goretusk.
Dahla smiles and waves at Diallia. "Take care!"
Diallia waves goodbye to everyone. Farewell!
[Geril] says: The bunny would have been better. :(
[Wren] says: And as I was saying, a story.
Rainah smiles at Rainey.
Bodhran smiles at Wren.
Murdi nods at Wren.
[Wren] says: I don't quite remember who told me this one so I can't give proper credit
Maedaine glances over to Wren and nods.
Kurlann smiles at Adilisa.
Adilisa smiles at Kurlann.
Kurlann kneels down.
Wren looks to her left
Kailie sits up straight and listens to Wren
[Wren] says: But perhaps we'd best solve this riddle first
Rainah whispers something short to Rainey about elves.
Rainey giggles at Rays comment
Maedaine whispers almost inaudibly. "It is a coffin."
Wren looks at Maedaine
[Wren] says: That sounds to be a good guess
[Murdi] says: well, what's the riddle, m'lady?
Maedaine grins a small grin, her dimple flashing.
Vindicis chuckles and pulls Maedaine closer.
Wren clears her throat
Bodhran listens intently to Wren.
[Wren] says: There was once a woman so wise that no one could say just how wise she was. She was also so old that no one remembered her name-and she'd forgotten it herself. So they called her simply the Wise One.
Maedaine lays her head on Vindicis' shoulder, and listens to Wren intently.
Rainah glances at her sister her comment in her eyes
Murdi smiles at Wren.
[Wren] says: Now, the Wise One lived close to the kingdom's capital, which was called the city of Here.
Wren points down at the ground
Voletta looks at where she is pointing.
[Wren] says: Just a day's ride away lay another city, which was called the city of There
Wren points towards the horizon
Murdi looks towards the horizon
[Wren] says: And the single road between them carried many travelers by horse, cart, and carriage.
Dahla smiles as she listens to Wren, settling in for the tale.
[Wren] says: One day, when a merchant from Here had ridden his horse halfway to There, he came upon a huge man standing in the middle of the road.
[Wren] says: The man was half again taller than the merchant, and dressed like a merchant himself.
[Wren] says: The giant shouted, "None shall pass without a fight. Choose your weapon, dark or light. I'll more than match you, wrong or right!"
Rainah leans back and stretches out her legs
Murdi is delighted by this tale
[Wren] says: "Never mind!" squeaked the merchant. And he fled back to the city, warning everyone he met on the way
[Wren] says: It was not long before he told the King too. "Dear me, dear me," said the King. "What must I do? What must I do?"
[Wren] says: The Queen leaned over to him. "Darling, why don't-"
[Wren] says: "Not now, my love," said the King. "I must listen to my Council of Three!"
[Wren] says: Smoothing back his hair and straightening his robe, the First Councilor lifted his finger.
[Wren] says: "Your Majesty, a king must protect his subjects and uphold their right to travel where they wish. One of your warriors must battle the giant. Send the Master of Clubs!"
Rainah nudges her sister and stands up quietly.
Rainey follows
[Wren] says: "Oh my, oh my," said the King. But he called for the Master of Clubs and gave the order.
Rainah nearly trips over Auturgen as she turns to speak to her sister quietly...she blushes and apologizes.
[Wren] says: The next morning, the Master of Clubs rode out till he came to the giant, who was now dressed up like a Master of Clubs, in a furry loincloth and high leather boots.
Rainey laughs
Auturgen groans and mutters something under his breath.
Murdi giggles at the thought.
[Rainey] says: Yur a klutz?
Wren smiles at Bodhran.
[Wren] says: The giant bellowed, “None shall pass without a fight. Choose your weapon, dark or light. I'll more than match you, wrong or right!"
Maedaine blinks in amazement.
[Rainey] says: I'm the better twin, why else?
[Wren] says: The brawny warrior dropped from his horse and growled, "I choose clubs."
[Wren] says: But as he raised his own club, the giant raised one bigger and heavier. Whomp! Whomp! Whomp!-and the Master of Clubs was shorter and wider than before.
Deren grins wickedly at Wren.
[Wren] says: The flattened warrior raced back to the King. "Dear me, dear me," said the King, and again asked, "What must I do? What must I do?"
[Wren] says: "Darling," said the Queen, "why don't you-"
Maedaine giggles softly, behind a hand.
[Wren] says: "Not now, my love," said the King. "My Councilors will surely know what's best!"
[Wren] says: The Second Councilor twirled the end of his mustache and pulled his ear. "Your Majesty, this is a great insult to your kingdom and must not go unanswered. Send the Master of Swords!"
[Rainah] yells: Rain!?
[Wren] says: "Oh my, oh my," said the King, but he called for the Master of Swords.
[Wren] says: The next morning, the Master of Swords rode till he came to the giant, who was now dressed up like a Master of Swords, in black from head to toe except for a long white cloak flapping majestically in the breeze.
[Rainah] yells: Rainey!?
Wren flaps her own cape to try to demonstrate
[Wren] says: The giant roared, "None shall pass without a fight. Choose your weapon, dark or light. I'll more than match you, wrong or right!"
[Rainah] yells: This isn’t funny Rain.....
[Wren] says: The lanky warrior sprang from his horse and cried, "I choose swords!" But just as he drew his own sword, the giant drew one longer and sharper. Swish! Swish! Swish!-and the shirt of the Master of Swords hung in shreds.
Dahla listens to Wren, both enraptured and delighted.
Wren starts to demonstrate but thinks better of it
Murdi shakes his head....oh so sad
[Flit] says: Ooooh. Good shirts are hard t'find!
Geril listens, thinking he's catching on, but his old mind can't wrap around what would be a solution.
[Wren] says: The tattered warrior raced back to the King. "Dear me, dear me," said the King. "What must I do? What must I do?"
[Rainah] yells: Come on Rain...I'm not laughing.....
Maedaine scratches her tip of her ear, trying to think of the ending.
[Wren] says: "Darling," said the Queen, "why don't you ask-"
[Wren] says: "Not now, my love," said the King. "At times like this, we must trust in the Councilors!"
Auturgen slowly gets to his feet and silently walks away from the circle as to not disturb the story in progress..
[Wren] says: The Third Councilor scratched the back of his bald head and tapped his nose. "Your Majesty, your kingdom now faces the gravest of challenges to its very existence. You have no choice but to use your most powerful warrior. Send the Master of Fire!"
[Wren] says: "Oh my, oh my," said the King. But he called for the Master of Fire.
[Wren] says: The next morning, the Master of Fire rode till he came to the giant, who was now dressed up like a Master of Fire, in gleaming red platemail, a swirl of flame worked stylishly in gold across his chest.
Adilisa playfully pokes Kurlann
Adilisa giggles at Kurlann.
[Wren] says: The giant thundered, "None shall pass without a fight. Choose your weapon, dark or light. I'll more than match you, wrong or right!"
Kurlann chuckles at Adilisa.
[Wren] says: The ruddy warrior leaped from his horse and barked, "I choose fire!" He swiftly lit his torches and tossed them at the giant, one after the other.
Kurlann nudges Adilisa, attempting to push her over.
[Wren] says: But the giant caught them and threw them back faster, burning brighter and hotter than before. Whizz! Whizz! Whizz!-and the Master of Fire was singed from head to foot.
Adilisa gasps at Kurlann.
[Murdi] says: ouch
[Wren] says: The smoldering warrior raced back to the King. "Dear me, dear me," said the King. "What must I do? What must I do?"
[Wren] says: But not one of the Councilors could say
Adilisa falls over and glares at Kurlann
[Wren] says: Then the Queen leaned over once more. "Darling, why don't you ask the Wise One?"
[Wren] says: "My love!" said the King. "A wonderful idea! I'm so glad we thought of it." And he called for the Wise One.
Dahla grumps softly about the king.
Kurlann giggles at Adilisa.
Wren grins and nods agreement with Dahla
Flit rolls her eyes.
[Wren] says: The Wise One arrived next morning and listened carefully to the King's story. Then she said, "I will go at once."
Maedaine giggles, thinking he should've asked the queen first.
[Wren] says: With a cart and horse loaned by the King, the Wise One drove out till she came to the giant, who was now dressed up like the Wise One. A simple linen blouse and sturdy leather trousers and a warm woolen cloak with a deep hood.
[Wren] says: The giant shouted, “None shall pass without a fight. Choose your weapon, dark or light. I'll more than match you, wrong or right!"
[Wren] says: "Well!" said the Wise One. "I shall have to think on this!" And so saying, she settled herself to ponder. The giant stood stone still.
Bodhran smiles at Wren.
[Wren] says: After a while, the Wise One's stomach grumbled. She reached into her bag for a loaf of brown bread and broke off a piece. She was about to bite into it when she heard a growl from the stomach of the giant.
[Wren] says: "Perhaps you too are hungry," said the Wise One pleasantly. She held out the piece of bread. "Would you care to share my humble repast?"
[Wren] says: "So!" cried the giant. "You try to conquer me with kindness! But now I'll more than match you."
Flit grins.
Murdi raises an eyebrow.
Dahla raises her brows, smiling and leaning forward.
Maedaine claps her hands softly in delight.
[Wren] says: Almost faster than the Wise One could see, the giant took from his own bag a table and chair and all manner of tasty, wholesome dishes fit for a Wise One-grains, cheeses, vegetables, fruits.
[Wren] says: Then before the Wise One could look twice, the giant stood there again, solid as rock and blocking the road.
[Wren] says: "So that's the way of it," murmured the Wise One.
[Wren] says: She got down from the cart and sat at the table to enjoy the giant's offering. When she'd eaten enough to satisfy her hunger, (and a little more for good measure), she leaned back contentedly and gazed thoughtfully at the giant.
[Wren] says: "I should like you to know a little about me. I live in a cottage in a forest outside the city of Here. And though I make no such claim for myself, others call me the Wise One."
Wren looks around the circle and smiles
[Wren] says: The giant bellowed, "Another contest! But you won't win, because now I'll tell you even more about me.
[Wren] says: I have no name, for my father is the wind, and my mother is a curved mirror. Like any mirror, I show only what I see, and I have no power or skill but what you choose."
Dahla covers her mouth with a hand to stifle a laugh, listening.
[Flit] says: Oooooh.
Maedaine grins widely.
Wren nods, continuing to tell the story
[Wren] says: "I thought as much," said the Wise One, rising from the table. "But the day is more than half done, and I must reach the city of There before dark."
[Wren] says: She stepped up to the giant and smiled kindly. "May I offer you a ride?"
[Wren] says: The giant screamed, "You dare to challenge me again? This time I'll best you once and for all!"
Bodhran grins wickedly at Wren.
[Wren] says: He picked up the Wise One, then the cart, then the horse, all together. Then he raced down the road, as fast as any wind-all the way to the city of There.
Wren winks at Bodhran and smiles merrily
Murdi claps excitedly for Wren.
[Wren] says: The giant set them down gently at the city gate. "I hope you've at last learned your lesson," he said.
[Wren] says: "Oh, I have!" said the Wise One breathlessly. "I thank you for it-and so will the King and all his subjects, I'm sure."
[Wren] says: Then the giant raced back up the road and was out of sight within seconds.
Dahla giggles at Wren, shaking her head.
[Wren] says: And ever since then-thanks to the Wise One-travelers between Here and There have only to bring themselves half of the way.
Flit smiles.
[Wren] says: And then they get a ride from the giant.
Wren smiles.
Murdi cheers at Wren!
Wren bows down graciously.
Adilisa claps excitedly for Wren.
Flit claps excitedly for Wren.
Dahla applauds at Wren. Bravo!
Kailie cheers at Wren!
Adilisa claps excitedly for Wren.
Murdi claps excitedly for Wren.
Deren claps excitedly for Wren.
Bodhran claps excitedly for Wren.
Adilisa claps excitedly for Wren.
Deren cheers at Wren!
Kailie claps excitedly for Wren.
Adilisa cheers at Wren!
Maedaine laughs and claps excitedly.
Kailie whistles at Wren.
Adilisa whistles at Wren.
[Wren] says: Thank you everyone!
Dahla smiles broadly. "Thank you, Wren! What a lovely story."
[Deren] says: Great story wren.. now I must go... Good night all
[Dahla] says: Now, who next would like to tell us a tale?
[Wren] says: Goodnight Deren
Deren waves at Wren.
Wren waves goodbye to Deren. Farewell!
Kurlann applauds at Wren. Bravo!
Deren waves at Dahla.
Dahla smiles and waves to Deren. "Take care, Deren!"
Murdi waves at Deren.
[Kailie] says: I must be going. Thank you all for the wonderful tales
[Dahla] says: You take care as well, Kailie.
Kailie waves.
[Deren] says: Good night Explorers and everyone else
[Murdi] says: they were wonderful tales. good night all
Murdi waves.
[Flit] says: Bye, Mister!
[Bodhran] says: G'night Deren
Dahla waves to Murdi with a smile. "Good night!"
Maedaine nods at those leaving, smiling.
Dahla grins at the fast-disappearing circle. "Well now. I know it's a fairly quiet night, but I'm sure there are some stories, or poems out there?"
Dahla chuckles softly. "Now, are folks shy, or tired?"
Maedaine snuggles closer to Vindicis and blinks her eyes softly.
Vindicis lets out a soft yawn, trying to cover it with his hand. "A bit tired here "
[Bodhran] says: More underprepared meself unfortunately
[Dahla] says: Ah, I quite understand. It's that sort of night... would there be any objections if we called it a night, then?
[Dahla] says: Ah, Bodhran, it's fine! Once in a while we need an early night. Makes up for the midnight sessions.
Maedaine mumbles slowly, her shadows swirling "I have stories but lack the organization to spin them tonight."
[Flit] says: No, 's alright. Thanks for managin' everythin', Dahla!
Flit smiles.
[Bonnyjune] says: But I want to hear shtories!
Bonnyjune sounds petulant.
Dahla grins at Flit. "Thanks, Flit."
[Dahla] says: Well then, thank you all so very much for coming and sharing, be it listening or speaking.
Maedaine nods. "I have greatly enjoyed the tales and will make more of an effort to join in the future."
[Dahla] says: I hope to see you all again next week, same time and same place. The time being eight bells, that is.
Bor yawns sleepily.
Flit looks around as if trying to memorize the scene.
Dahla smiles at Maedaine.
[Dahla] says: We'd love to have you back. All of you.
[Flit] says: G'night!
Flit waves at Dahla.
[Dahla] says: So sleep well and enjoy a lazy night! Take care, everyone.
Bor rubs his legs to get the feeling back into them.
Dahla waves at Flit.
Bor waves goodbye to everyone. Farewell!
[Bodhran] says: Have a good evening all, t'was nice to spend a few hours peace here with you
Maedaine stands slowly, holding out her hand to help Vindicis up.
[Maedaine] says: Safe journeys to you all. I thank you for the entertainment.
Vindicis smiles warmly and takes her hand, faltering slightly.
[Wren] says: Good night everyone and safe travels
[Vindicis] says: Indeed, thank you greatly.
Xenkore sighed, and inhaled deeply as he rose, his eyes moving over to Dahla with a smile.
Dahla grins at Bodhran and Wren. "Thanks for coming."
[Maedaine] says: Ready my love? You are feeling all right?
Bonnyjune slinks away.
Ardelle rises as silently as she first came by, smiles in the circle's general direction, and begins to slowly walk off.
Bodhran smiles at Dahla.
Vindicis nods slowly.
Wren smiles at Dahla "Always a pleasure to spend time here"
[Vindicis] says: I am... ok.
[Wren] says: And I've perfected my fire building
[Wren] says: For the time being anyway
[Bodhran] says: Just in time too...
[Wren] says: Now I just have to remember it for next time
Dahla smiles and gives Xenkore a small wave, beckoning him closer. She grins at Wren. "It's a fickle thing, fire."
Wren grins back "So people keep telling me"
Wren smiles at Bodhran.
Bodhran whispers something to Wren
Wren leans closer to Bodhran, speaking quietly
Xenkore looked up at the sky to see the moon, but couldn't through the branches and leaves of overhead trees.
Wren smiles at Bodhran "Walk with me back towards town?"
[Bodhran] says: Of course
Bodhran offers his arm to Wren
Wren takes Bodhran's arm with a smile
Dahla grins at Bodhran and Wren, giving them a little wave. "Take care, you two."
Wren waves at Dahla.
[Bodhran] says: You as well Dahla, have a good eve
[Wren] says: Night Dahla! Thank you for hosting tonite
Xenkore turned around then, and looked into the distance.
Bodhran bows before Dahla.
Dahla smiles at Xenkore. "You made it tonight."
Xenkore turned to Dahla, caught just before he could leave."
Xenkore nods at Dahla.
[Xenkore] says: Oh, yeah.
Dahla 's face creases in a smile. "Glad you could. Did you enjoy yourself?"
[Xenkore] says: It was a good escape. I figured I could take some time off from being plagues and diseased by the scourge.
Dahla grimaces, nodding. "It was a very lazy night tonight, but I think we all need them now and then. Are you all right? Battling the Scourge..."
Xenkore shrugged, his eyes trailing off to look at the sky behind her. "Perfectly fine, now."
[Xenkore] says: Still haven't found any leads...
Dahla stretches a bit, trying to rub a bit of a crick from her neck. "Well, that's good to hear." She hesitates, frowning slightly. "Leads?".
Xenkore shook his head. "Don't worry about it."
[Xenkore] says: Good job guiding the stories.
[Dahla] says: Are you sure, Xenkore? If it's something I could help with...
[Xenkore] says: I wouldn't want you to help... even if you could.
Xenkore thought for a moment. "Don't take that the wrong way."
Dahla frowns, a bit taken aback. "Oh?"
[Xenkore] says: No, no... I mean to say... I want to do it alone.
Dahla licks her lips, nodding, her brow still furrowed in confusion. "I can understand that, Xenkore, but... what is it you seek to do? A lot of people want to do things on their own, but..."
[Xenkore] says: I'd rather not... mention it.
Dahla shakes her head almost absently, then glances down at the ground. "I guess I understand," she says quietly.
[Xenkore] says: How have you been?
[Xenkore] says: Did you rest like I told you to?
Xenkore approaches slightly, and leans in, sternly examining her face again, as he did the other night.
Dahla shrugs faintly, accepting the change of subject without comment. "I did rest, yes. For much of today, as well. Things are... well." She smiles faintly.
Dahla glances off to the side, raising her brows slightly, before looking back to Xenkore. "Nothing to be too worried about."
Xenkore squinted his eyes at her, and then stepped back again. "I hope so..."
Dahla glances down with a faint blush suddenly rising to her cheeks. "Things will be all right, Xenkore. They always are, one way or another. Things work out."
Xenkore looked around slightly. He didn't seem to agree with her.
[Xenkore] says: I suppose in some ways, you might be right.
[Xenkore] says: Delesta's been freed.
Dahla licks her lips and looks back up to him with a nod. "Has s--" She frowns suddenly. "Oh? You're sure?"
[Xenkore] says: Supposedly. That's what I heard.
Dahla continues to frown, not seeming convinced. "I hope so. Did you hear it from her?"
[Xenkore] says: What were you... going to say?
Xenkore looked a bit confused.
[Dahla] says: Hm? Oh, I just hadn't heard anything about it. Her being freed.
Xenkore looked around a bit. "You sure you're okay?"
Dahla grits her teeth slightly, still frowning a bit. "I'm sure."
Xenkore folded his arms slightly. His belief of her statement seemed less than before.
[Xenkore] says: Any word on Veras?
[Xenkore] says: I still haven't heard anything, unfortunately.
Dahla bristles faintly. "You think I'm any kind of friends with the Council? After all they've done? They're not about to go telling me what they're up to."
[Xenkore] says: I make it a point to maintain a certain neutrality with everyone.
Dahla glances to the left and to the right of him, scowling now. "Nor are those of the End. Won't even let me give my brother's remains to --"
[Xenkore] says: I'm sure they have their reasons.
[Xenkore] says: Remains?
Dahla growls a soft, "No," shaking her head. "Neutrality? No. Not with them. No!"
Xenkore looked at her. "What remains?"
[Dahla] says: His ashes, Xenkore.
[Xenkore] says: You have his ashes?
[Dahla] says: I can't give him a proper Hillsbrad funeral -- no! No, I don't. But at least I could do _something_ with them.
Dahla shakes her head, rubbing her brow. "It's not _like_ that --"
[Xenkore] says: ...
[Xenkore] says: Something's obviously wrong.
Dahla takes in a deep breath, letting it out slowly, squeezing her eyes shut. "I'm just tired."
Xenkore shook his head slowly. "I don't think that's it."
Xenkore wanted to say she could trust him, but instead held off on making a fool of himself in case there really was nothing wrong.
[Xenkore] says: If something is wrong, you can tell me.
Dahla snaps, "I said no. I'm not like that."
Xenkore put on a slightly angry face. "I never said you were."
[Xenkore] says: If I'm bothering you, I'll leave.
[Xenkore] says: I don't want to be an inconvenience.
Dahla digs her hands into the pockets of her robes, glancing back at the lake for a long moment, before back at Xenkore. "_You_ aren't bothering me, Xenkore."
Xenkore knew something strange was going on, now. "Even so. You said you were tired."
[Xenkore] says: I'll leave you to your rest.
Dahla nods a few times, looking away. "Thank you, Xenkore. I hope you find what you're looking for."
