[Strand] says: Hallo, all.
Potar greets you warmly.
[Flit] says: Hi, Mr. Strand!
Hallia cooly watches the people gather.
[Strand] says: Hallo, Flit!
Flit waves at you.
[Cogitatus] says: Bring me the boar parts if you're not using or selling them, please.
[Veras] says: For once I am early.
Veras runs a hand through his hair
Xindo cheers at Veras!
[Xindo] says: Me to.
Arahshiel nods at Veras.
[Cogitatus] says: Greetings, Veras.
Flit smiles at Veras.
[Strand] says: Ingarath's away again tonight, I'm afraid.
[Cogitatus] says: Thanks, Tiano.
[Flit] says: Hi, mister!
[Tiano] says: np
Tiano lies down before Cogitatus.
Tiano lies down before Cogitatus.
[Tiano] says: im on fire awww
Hallia furrows her brow at Tiano
[Strand] says: Is that murloc soup, Cogitatus?
[Hallia] says: Thank you.
[Xindo] says: Tiano get out of the fire...
[Syddan] says: Anyone have a spare nightcrawler or the like?
[Cogitatus] says: Tiano, why are you sleeping in the campfire?
Veras sits and stretches before yawning and leaning leaning back on his palms
[Tiano] says: its fun tho
[Xindo] says: It's stupid...
[Syddan] says: Dangerous =(
[Veras] says: Fire. Bad.
Arahshiel smirks.
Veras smirks
[Strand] says: Not productive.
Flit giggles.
Trinn smiles and waves around the circle-ish gathering.
Tiano warms up his hands in the fire.
[Syddan] says: No one has any bait of a sort do they?
Potar greets Trinn warmly.
[Cogitatus] says: I think I do.
[Hallia] says: Odd. With the lack of campfires on Teldrassil, Darnassus, and most of Ashenvale, I was beginning to think the Night Elves were frightened of open flame
Trinn smiles at Potar. "Evening."
[Syddan] says: Think you could spare one?
Cogitatus checks his pack while he cooks.
Veras looks up and nods to Veryxia
Potar smiles back. "Good evening."
[Trinn] says: Oh, gods. Can we not spare the goretusks just /one/ evening?
[Cogitatus] says: I thought I did.
[Syddan] says: Hrm
[Flit] says: You might be, miss, if you lived in a giant tree.
[Hallia] says: Aye.
[Hallia] says: It made sense.
[Strand] says: Or at least do it quickly.
[Syddan] says: Well I'll just head into Lakeshire
Flit nods.
[Cogitatus] says: I can't seem to find my bait.
[Cogitatus] says: I think I left ym bait in Stormwind.
Trinn moves forward, and gives Veras an inquisitive look.
Flit waves at Trinn.
Veras looks to Trinn and tilts his head
[Hallia] says: But I have never met anyone who thought it was funny to fall asleep in a fire.
Hallia shrugs
Veryxia peers to the formally dressed woman, and furrows her brows, inquisitively.
[Cogitatus] says: Trinn, about the Gortusks, my friend Jorii was talking to me earlier. He suggests moving Story Night to the other side of the graveyard where we don't have to worry about the Goretusks walking all over us.
[Hallia] says: That sounds good.
[Cogitatus] says: It sounds like a good idea to me.
[Strand] says: I don't know. There's no tree over there.
Nanfloodle glances about warily, a little scared at being trampled by rampaging boars.
[Trinn] says: Well, that's up to Ingarath and Meris, aye?
[Flit] says: I like the tree. . . .
[Tiano] says: ill tke care of the goretusks
Cogitatus organizes the dishes he just cooked.
Veras shrugs slightly and lets his eyes wander, he frowns though as a sudden muffled "Meow" is heard from his robes.
[Hallia] says: These goretusks are smelly, messy, and big enough so when they trample over you, it really hurts.
[Cogitatus] says: Trinn, probably.
[Veras] says: Damnation.
Flit peeks at Veras, curious.
Veryxia peers down to Veras, and quirks a brow.
Arahshiel looks over her shoulder and nods at Meris.
Nanfloodle cries on Rabbit's shoulder.
Veras sighs and rolls his eyes tanding and reaching into his robes
[Strand] says: Well, definitely, really. It's their night. Hallo, Meris.
Trinn looks over at Veras.
Meris smiles at Arahshiel
Veras pulls out by the neck a cat and plops him on the floor
[Strand] says: Veras, is that a cat?
Veryxia peers to the woman, and remains quiescent.. paying her no attention, as to not startle her.
[Trinn] says: Veras. You're a...pet owner?
Meris looks to Veras with surprise.
Flit 's eyes light up.
Veras looks ot the cat and frowns then looks to Strand and Triin
[Cogitatus] says: Okay, that's why I can't cook the clam meat, I forgot the spring water. I'll have to wait on Jorii for that.
Cogitatus mutters to himself.
[Veras] says: Either of you Cat people?
[Trinn] says: Aye.
Malakazu takes out his...cockroach
[Veras] says: Want a cat?
[Meris] says: Sounds like he just received one as a gift.
[Strand] says: Did Aya put you up to this?
[Syddan] says: Heh
[Syddan] says: Just give me the remainder
[Cogitatus] says: Ah, thanks.
[Veryxia] says: (( Ignore zergling, he is not visible to the eye. ))
[Syddan] says: It cost a bit =(
Veras looks at the cat out of the corner of his eye
[Trinn] says: Someone gave you a /cat/, Veras? Not a voidwalker or some such?
[Tiano] says: aww help
Hallia nods, "I adore cats."
[Veras] says: I got it in the *mail8 the package was unmarked.
[Hallia] says: Maybe one of these days I'll adopt. that cat lady looks overwhelmed
[Meris] says: He doesn't know how to deal with something he can't banish.
Veras runs a hand through his hair
Trinn lets out a snorting laugh.
Strand grins.
[Veras] says: And it won't go away.
Arahshiel grins.
[Trinn] says: I'll take the cat, if you would do otherwise to it.
[Illyena] says: Why are you so inquiring about him having a cat? Cats are cute.
[Strand] says: That's marvelous.
[Flit] says: Aww. . . .cats are great pets. Very clever, and good at lots of things, like keeping your workspace free of string.
Hallia waves at Malakazu.
[Trinn] says: In exchange for a conversation, Veras. You know what I mean.
[Hallia] says: Hello Malakazu!
[Illyena] says: Just like my rabbit.
Syddan curtsies before Cogitatus.
Veras attampted to nudge the cat away with his foot
[Malakazu] says: er.. Greetings sister
[Possesed] says: Cat's are not for everyone though.
Cogitatus bows before Syddan.
[Flit] says: Your bunny chases string, Illy?
Veras glances up to Trinn
[Cogitatus] says: Okay, who wants to hear tonight's menu?
[Veras] says: Eh? Oh! Ah yes, of course
[Illyena] says: Hmm?
[Possesed] says: Or So I've been told.
Cogitatus smiles.
Possesed smiles.
[Illyena] says: Oh, no...he just eats.
Possesed soothes Zergling. There, there...things will be ok.
[Illyena] says: Very inactive bunny.
Illyena nods.
Meris eyes Possesed with a sense of distant recognition.
[Cogitatus] says: I have [Coyote Steak], [Herb Baked Egg], [Goretusk Liver Pie]...
[Flit] says: Well. . . .I've no doubt that serves a lot of usesful purposes. . . .
[Cogitatus] says: ...[Murloc Fin Soup], [Dry Pork Ribs], and [Boiled Clams].
Trinn watches Veras levelly.
Arahshiel smiles a little and whispers something to Meris.
[Illyena] says: ....its just cute.
Malakazu passes some crumbs to his pet
[Cogitatus] says: Anyone for dinner?
Veras is smiling as his left foot fights with keeping the cat from rubbing up against his robes
Strand pushes himself up to his feet.
[Syddan] says: ((Bah it never goes back to the right spot))
Flit tries not to watch the mechanical squirrel, and stares at the fire.
Possesed looks around instinctively.
[Syddan] says: Could I have some Murloc soup?
[Possesed] says: Hmmm. no, not that I can see...
Trinn glances down at the cat. "Veras? You going to keep the cat or do horrific things to it? I'll take it, if it's the latter."
[Possesed] says: Oh wait.. you mean cooked food.
Veras opens his mouth and then closes it, he sucks on his teeth
Strand gives Veryxia a speculative glance.
Cogitatus says quietly to Meris, "Oh, my friend Jorii and I want to suggest moving Story Night ot the other side of the graveyard where we won't have Goretusks walking all over us. It's up to you, of course."
[Veras] says: Honestly I can not see myself 'doing horrible things' to the cat.
Veras seems displeased with his own answer
Flit pulls out a notebook and makes a quick note, "Pay Nim twenty silver for lost bet."
[Illyena] says: ....
Mharty chortles.
Arahshiel stifles a laugh.
[Veras] says: but perhaps I can convince you to take it none the less?
Veras looks like a door to door salesman
Jorii greets everyone with a hearty hello!
Trinn nods slowly. "Tell yourself as you like, Veras. I'll take the cat."
Hallia looks up, incredulously at Veras.
[Flit] says: Dontcha want it, mister? It looks like a high-quality kitty cat, you know.
Veryxia returns Strand's gaze, but quickly loses interest, and peers to the Goretusk being slaughtered.
[Strand] says: Well, tell yourself the truth. Always better.
Meris peers back at Cogitatus. "Ingarath sort of has preferred this spot for historical reasons... it is more his say than mine."
Veras beams
[Trinn] says: Better, if possibly known.
[Veras] says: Exellent!
[Strand] says: Mmm. Self-examination.
Syddan waves at Cogitatus.
Cogitatus responds quietly to Meris, "Ah, I see."
Cogitatus bows before Meris.
[Syddan] says: Can I have some Murloc soup?
Meris looks over to Hallia. "Hallia? You were the woman I met in Duskwood the other night, correct?"
[Syddan] says: heh... sorry to interupt
Trinn looks exasperated. "Just give me the damn cat. We'll fence later."
[Cogitatus] says: Sure, give me a second.
Syddan thanks Cogitatus.
Possesed nods at Cogitatus.
Hallia faces warm, "Indeed it is!"
[Veras] says: Ah, yes, yes. Of course.
Hallia nods at Meris.
Syddan thanks Cogitatus.
[Cogitatus] says: Anyone else want dinner with their stories, tonight?
Gilleon seems to eye over to his side and then back to the conversation with the cat.
[Possesed] says: No thank you...I'm quite, full.
Veras pick up the cat and digs around his robes, finding nothing suitable to hold he, he just holds out the cat to Trinn, it meows.
[Hallia] says: How are you this eve, Meris? And... I hope all is well? Or at least better than the last time I saw you?
[Jorii] says: i got drinks -[Ice Cold Milk]-[Sweet Nectar]-[Melon Juice]-[Moonberry Juice]
Trinn holds out her hand and takes the cat from his grasp. The cat struggles, but seems less agitated.
Meris motions to Veras. "Hallia, this is the fortune teller the others were talking about"
[Strand] says: By the by, Meris -- Ingarath's off somewhere again tonight.
Veras lets out what mus be a heald breath as the cat is passed on
Trinn cradles the cat against her chest and nods at Veras. "Conversation. That's the price. You understand?"
Arahshiel lets out a long, drawn-out sigh.
[Veras] says: I understand, I understand. i won't go back on my bargian.
[Hallia] says: Oh is this Veras?
Trinn nods.
Gilleon looks over to Mharty, eyeing back at the cat coversation.
[Meris] says: Yes, the man with the cat.
Possesed smiles at Trinn.
[Hallia] says: The great fortune teller Veras.
[Meris] says: Or the ex-cat man, however.
Strand smiles cheerfully.
Meris smirks wryly.
[Hallia] says: You reputation preceeds you.
[Veras] says: Eh? Ah. yes. i am not sure about *great* but well met.
[Hallia] says: **your
Veras smiles as Hallia and gives a half bow
[Hallia] says: I am Priestess Hallia.
Potar greets Ashyne warmly.
Tiano cries on Xindo's shoulder.
Trinn looks up at Ashyne, impressed.
[Trinn] says: My.
Ashyne waves at Potar.
[Ashyne] says: Greetings.
Ashyne smiles brightly.
Hallia doesn't curtsie, but acknowledges Vera's half hearted bow with a nod.
Gilleon seems leaned over towards Mharty.
[Possesed] says: Better a princess then a queen. Longer life expectancy.
Possesed grins wickedly.
[Veras] says: A priestess, eh? It's a rough life.
Trinn sighs again at the blatant waste of a goretusk.
[Hallia] says: It is a rough life indeed.
Strand says patiently, "If you don't stab them, they just graze."
Tiano cries on Xindo's shoulder.
[Hallia] says: But the vocation called to me, and I responded.
Tiano cries on Xindo's shoulder.
Veras shrugs at Hallia. Who knows?
Tiano lies down before Xindo.
Tiano lies down before Xindo.
[Meris] says: Isn't that *always* how it is?
Meris flashes a somewhat disarming smile at Hallia.
[Veras] says: Not always Meris.
Possesed smiles.
Hallia smiles. "Ah yes. A fellow believe in fate too."
[Veras] says: But often.
Mharty giggles.
[Tiano] says: good bye all im going to go game suicide
Syddan frowns.
Gilleon grins to himself.
[Malakazu] says: er... Be safe.... I guess
[Veras] says: Well one better believe in fate. Unless you think The Timeless guards nothing but sticks.
[Xindo] says: ((Dont mind him he asked me what Roleplaying was -.-))
Possesed whispers quietly, "Is this seat taken?"
Possesed smiles.
Veras chuckles as he sits again he rubs his shoulder then looks up to Hallia
Arahshiel smiles at Possesed.
Trinn watches Veras quietly, cat still cradled in her arms.
Hallia sits down, half glancing over at Veras.
Strand reaches over, and scratches the cat between the ears.
[Syddan] says: Hmm... why is there such a... lack of dwarves?
[Veras] says: If you wish a reading perhaps we can set up a time a place, eh?
Veras loks to Syddan and blinks
[Cogitatus] says: So, anyone else for food or dirnk before we begin?
Xindo glares angrily at Reinholt.
Meris glances over her shoulder at Reinholt.
[Flit] says: Well, we are a long way from Dun Morogh.
[Veras] says: Maybe Ironforge is under attack?
[Trinn] says: No thank you, Cogitatus.
[Tiano] yells: good bye all
[Syddan] says: Yes, but I see plenty of elves, and thats even farther away
[Syddan] says: Darnassus that is
[Meris] says: Dwarves rarely make it out here. It's not their sort of entertainment.
[Syddan] says: Hrm, bah
[Possesed] says: Well, you should remember, things aren't always what they appear...
[Syddan] says: Their lose
[Strand] says: Mmm. Why are Kaldorei so tall, might as well ask.
[Hallia] says: Who me? No. I am not interested in knowing.
Possesed smiles at Syddan.
Flit nods.
[Malakazu] says: Dwarven folk are not known for their appreciation of the arts.. unless the serving of stout is the primary occasion
Veras waves at Braegh.
[Veras] says: And a dwarf to save the day.
Trinn waves back at Dahla.
[Strand] says: Hallo, Dahla!
Syddan cheers at Braegh!
Flit waves at Garond.
Braegh salutes Veras with respect.
Veras glaces at Hallia and winks
Potar catches Dahla from the corner of his eye and smiles.
[Veras] says: Wise woman.
Potar waves at Dahla.
Dahla grins at Strand and waves, "Hello hello."
Braegh waves at Illyena.
[Veryxia] says: I would appreciate it if you moved your insufferable beast from within two feet of me, knight.
Dahla smiles at Potar.
Trinn grins at Dahla.
[Tiano] says: good bye all im going to go kill game sucide good bye
[Alrik] says: For the love of...
Veryxia frowns.
Veras blinks and looks to Dahla
[Syddan] says: What? Again?
Tiano is now being ignored.
[Trinn] says: Do we have no fire-makers?
[Veras] says: Wow, didn't notice you come in...errr...here
[Braegh] says: I can make a fire.
[Syddan] says: Me
[Braegh] says: If need be.
[Flit] says: Is he speaking some other language?
[Veryxia] says: Away.
[Hallia] says: Ack!
[Trinn] says: Madam dwarf, thank you.
Trinn smiles at Syddan.
Dahla quirks a brow and grins across the circle at Veras. "The cat keep you up all night?"
Sinka waves at Flit.
Trinn shows Dahla the cat in her arms. "Not this night."
Malakazu gnaws on the boar corpse
[Syddan] says: Eh... everyone adjust
Strand grins.
Veras beams a huge grin at Dahla
[Strand] says: Oh, we don't worry too much about the exact location of the fire.
[Veras] says: No more meowsing.
Mharty waves at Veras.
[Strand] says: It's a metaphorical center.
Veryxia frowns.
Hallia flinches as the great hulking beast meets its end at her feet.
Dahla blinks at Trinn. "He gave you the cat? But... someone gave it to him. I thought it was a good idea, too..."
[Trinn] says: I'll take good care of it. Regardless of its original master.
Syddan applauds at Tiano. Bravo!
[Possesed] says: Roast Boar anyone?
Malakazu gnaws on the new boar corpse
[Dahla] says: Teach him about responsibility and all that. Thought I'd start with a plant though.
Syddan lets out a long, drawn-out sigh.
Braegh looks at Syddan and raises his hand in the air.
[Braegh] says: I'd like some boar.
[Syddan] says: You have so much to live for, I'm sure
[Trinn] says: He can have the cat if the plant lives.
Flit casts an amused, suspicious look at Dahla.
Malakazu passes some boar-bit salad around the circle
Dahla nods at Trinn. "And if the plant dies I'll disown him."
Meris lets out a huff of air and casts her eyes around the circle.
[Trinn] says: Aye. Seems unlikely, but I'll hold onto the plant in case.
[Soshumaru] says: Hello Tahlia.
Veryxia grimaces, remembering the false name.
Veras frowns
[Veras] says: I can hear yout two you know.
[Veryxia] says: Ah.. hello, Hound.
[Possesed] says: They always know...
Malakazu gnaws on a hoof
Possesed smiles at Veras.
Dahla bats her lashes at her brother. "That's the point, Veras."
Syddan waves at Soshumaru.
Soshumaru bows before Veryxia.
[Veryxia] says: I ... am afraid I am unaware of your name.
Trinn glances over at Strand.
[Soshumaru] says: I am Soshumaru.
[Veryxia] says: Ah, I see. You were present during the entire ordeal, yes?
Strand says cheerfully, "Is it a full circle? It looks like it."
Veras rolls his eyes at Dahla
[Soshumaru] says: Yes.
[Veras] says: You'd think I was an infant.
Trinn nods at Strand.
[Veryxia] says: As I have heard.
[Cogitatus] says: Yes, Strand, I think we have almost a full circle, this evening.
Veras stretched and yawns
[Trinn] says: It's time, I think.
[Soshumaru] says: Heard what?
[Strand] says: Well. Then it might ought be time to get started.
Trinn beams at Strand.
Veryxia frowns a bit, as three Hounds gather about her.. and motions to the gathering.
[Veryxia] says: Ahem, I believe the proceedings are beginning.
Flit whispers, "I thought you guys weren't coming?"
Veryxia smiles, faintly.
[Soshumaru] says: Well I hope you are all right.
Meris looks to Strand. "Well... are you the official host this evening?"
Veryxia peers over to Meris, and speaks in quiet tones.
[Veryxia] says: Is this seat.. taken?
Strand spreads his hands. "Ingarath sent me a cryptic letter. If you ask me, I think he's found true love but he's embarrassed about it."
Meris shakes her head at Veryxia, eyeing her somewhat warily.
[Braegh] says: Take a seat laddy.
[Strand] says: Usurp me at your pleasure, but otherwise I'm going to stand up and deliver the speech.
Trinn glances back at the Hound. "Mind sitting? The goretusks will care for themselves."
Potar greets Thargan warmly.
Garond frowns.
Dahla grins back at the fire-haired dwarf. "Hey grumpy."
Meris looks back to Strand. "Very well. We've enough here, I believe..."
Strand stands, smiling.
[Meris] says: And we even seem to have appropriate security tonight.
Thargan nods his head slightly, "Eh, 'owdy all."
[Trinn] says: In spades.
[Strand] says: Welcome to storytelling. Is anyone here for the first time tonight?
Flit gives Meris a rueful grin.
Braegh raises his hand in the air.
Soshumaru nods
Mharty points at Sinka.
Soshumaru raises his hand
Syddan raises her hand.
Sinka raise his hand
[Strand] says: Well, it's about as simple as it sounds. We sit, we share company, and we tell stories.
Trinn shows Thargan the cat in her arms.
Braegh nods.
[Strand] says: Or poems, or songs. Things of that nature.
[Meris] says: And wrangle cats.
Syddan frowns.
Cogitatus chuckles quietly in response to Meris.
Thargan quirks a thick fiery brow at Trinn as he flicks his golden eyes over the cat, nodding faintly,"Mm, ya got on' sitt'n a few feet from ya lass."
[Strand] says: All grudges and enmities are left outside the circle; occasionally, Horde shows up, and that's -- well, it happens. We don't fight.
Garond frowns even deeper.
Meris examines Veryxia for a while and eventually relaxes again.
Strand glances across the circle, to the shed, and the thing standing beside it.
[Braegh] says: Fight, Horde? Never.
[Braegh] says: It seems something has spawned from the graveyard.
Saracy waves at Flit.
[Flit] says: That means you, Garond. No fighting the horde here.
Strand says, a little brief, "Ingarath's rule. Won't say him no. Anyhow."
Flit turns and waves at Saracy.
[Thargan] says: They start a f'ght th'y git thar 'eads crak'd in, tha' simpl'.
Hallia blinks at Trinia.
[Strand] says: Who would like to tell the first tale?
Soshumaru frowns.
[Meris] says: Or read the first verse.
[Strand] says: Or sing the first song.
Potar chuckles a bit.
Saracy points at Flit.
Strand looks to Flit.
Gilleon opens a book, flips to a blank page and begins to what appears to be, to draw.
Flit turns pink and tries to duck behind Alrik.
Trinn looks back at the wandering Hound in some exasperation.
[Flit] says: Sosh, please be still.
[Strand] says: Do you have something, Flit? You were good the other week.
[Flit] says: I. . . guess. . . but. . . .
Braegh waves Soshumaru over.
Strand beams.
Flit bites her lip, "I don't wanna go first. . . ."
[Strand] says: Well, someone else should, then.
Flit looks relieved.
[2. Dramatis] Moderation privileges given to Therradon.
[Braegh] says: Be good to have a bard here.
Dahla smiles understandingly at Flit. "Don't I hear that. I've always got tales, Strand, I'm happy to."
Saracy gently pats Flit.
Strand looks relieved. "The grass is yours, Dahla."
Flit practices her glare on Saracy.
Dahla grins as she stands, brushing some of said grass from her knees.
Strand settles back down, and reaches over to take Trinn's hand.
Braegh whispers to Soshumaru, 'You don't need to circle the group like a pack of vultures. Sommat's not going to charge in here with swords drawn and cut us all down. Especially not pigs.'
Trinn gives Flit a look before taking Strand's hand.
Saracy entirely fails to notice Flit's glare.
Gilleon smiles at Dahla.
Dahla grins. "Forgive, it's a circle, so it's hard to face all at once."
Cogitatus begins listening.
[Dahla] says: Now, I tell a good many stories about my friend, the priest -- who has been many places, and seen many things.
Flit grins wickedly at Dahla.
Veryxia peers to Veras, questioningly.
Veras leans over
Trinn stands up, grumbling.
[Braegh] says: 'Ooes yer friend?
[Dahla] says: Not all that long ago, he found himself out in the Hillsbrad region -- a rugged country, full of rugged creatures. The people there, too. It's a strange sort of balance of stubbournness by the land, and those that live in it.
Thargan grumbles through his mustache, blowing it out as he stands, brushing his hands down his breeches."Damn'd shirt b' ta damn'd itchy."
Veryxia shakes her head, quietly retracting her curiosity, for the time.
Dahla winks at Braegh. "A priest."
Veras waves at Lothorial.
Braegh nods slowly at Dahla.
[Dahla] says: It's a tough land, and a group of farmers had been having some trouble with one of the local beasts.
Flit looks relieved as Garond finally sits down.
[Dahla] says: You see, mountain lions aren't too infrequent in those parts, and while they are usually shy and keep to themselves... well. It's been hard times for everyone.
[Dahla] says: Well. One of them had been getting too bold, coming down and stealing sheep in the night. The farmers were worried -- not only for their flocks, but also for what would happen when the last of the sheep were gone.
Potar greets Shaun warmly.
Shaun waves.
Dahla grins faintly. "Ever seen those mountain lions? Hulking. They're huge."
Flit nods.
Gilleon grins and nods to Dahla.
[2. Dramatis] @Therradon, Soulstyce, Shaun, Kathisi, Strand, Arrish, Spiderheart, Tremin, Hallia
Braegh nods. 'Aye!'.
Malakazu was raised by a Mountain Lion..
[Cogitatus] says: Oh, yes, I've hunted those lions. Very sharp teeth.
[Dahla] says: Well, my friend agreed to go out with a few of the farmers to help hunt down this bold mountain lion -- to make sure no one was badly hurt.
[Strand] says: Hugest mountain lions I ever did see.
Dahla nods at Cogitatus. "Fearsome. Dangerous. It's why they were so worried."
[Thargan] says: Bah, jus' o'ersiz'd kitt'ns, noth'n lik' a Dun Morogh Bear... bah, let th' girl cont'nu'... shut yer traps.
Flit grins at Thargan.
Veras chuckles
[Dahla] says: Well, they stalked through the early evening, in the sun's fading light, following the tracks of the great beast.
[Dahla] says: It had just recently taken several -- several! -- sheep not an hour before, so they were hot on the trail.
[Braegh] says: Who did? The farme's, or the priest?
Gilleon smiles at Aryss.
[Dahla] says: The farmers and my friend, the priest. He was making sure they didn't get hurt.
[Dahla] says: Dangerous work, hunting mountain lions.
[Braegh] says: Ah. Good idea, him.
[Dahla] says: Well, as the sun began to set, they came upon a cave.
Aryss folds her Parachute back into a cloak
Mharty waves at Thack.
Thargan waves Arrish over.
Shaun gives Arrish a small wave, then return his attention to Dahla.
Dahla shivers. "Dark and deep, it was, and low so they had to crouch. Struck torches, they did, and crept in... knowing that the cat would hear them coming."
Strand smiles back to Arrish.
[Thackk] says: ((I am the Orc on a laptop, I'd just thought I'd clarify that.))
Cogitatus starts a new fire.
Maire crosses her arms and leans casually against the tree.
[Veras] says: ((Nifty))
[Braegh] says: ((It speaks common?))
Trinn smiles at Shaun.
[Thackk] says: It?
[Aryss] says: ((how did he do that?))
Shaun smiles at Trinn.
[Thackk] says: How very rude..
[Cogitatus] says: ((He's using an Alliance alt.))
[Veras] says: ((Haha, shhhhh))
[Strand] says: Down, down. Story. Dahla.
[Dahla] says: Well, deeper into the cave they crept. Afraid, now. They could hear the breathing of the cat... but couldn't see it beyond the pool of torchlight.
[Alrik] says: ((two comps, two accounts.))
Garond points at Thackk.
Soshumaru stares Thack down.
Flit leans forward, expectant.
Cogitatus listens intently to Dahla.
Braegh nods at Dahla.
[Dahla] says: The breathing, the crunching of bone to get the last marrow out, suddenly stopped. Silence descended, the men -- even my friend, the priest -- holding their breaths.
[Dahla] says: Then, the great cat sprang!
Syddan gasps.
Garond mumbles something.
[Dahla] says: Out of the darkness -- not in the direction they thought! -- it charged them, landing atop one of the young farmers.
Flit winces.
[Braegh] says: Ouch. Tha' messa hert.
Cogitatus bows his head and closes his eyes briefly.
Cogitatus sighs.
Xindo gets up walking away, not really feeling like being here tonight.
Syddan frowns with disappointment at Xindo.
Reinholt lets out a long, drawn-out sigh.
[Dahla] says: There was a brief, but frighteningly fierce battle as the cat was slain and hauled off their friend, and only my friend, the priest's presence kept him from dying from his garish wounds.
[Alrik] says: Right, sorry to leave, but I have matters to attend to elsewhere.
[Braegh] says: Priest's are good at things they that, them.
Dahla breathes out a sigh of relief. "The young man was fine. In fact, they returned home, triumphant, with the body of the mountain lion carried between them."
[Dahla] says: There was a celebration that night, humble as it might be, and they decided to stuff the cat and mount it in the town hall.
[Dahla] says: But it was a small town hall, see, so they really only had room for half.
[Dahla] says: If you look today, you'll see the front half of a huge, stuffed mountain lion proudly on display.
[Flit] says: Ew. . . .
[Braegh] says: Where's the other half?
[Dahla] says: Of course, they felt they needed to thank my friend, the priest...
[Saracy] says: In the wall?
Trinn smiles at Dahla.
Dahla winks at Braegh. "Well see... they gave him the other half. To thank him."
Cogitatus laughs.
Thack laughs.
Syddan lets out a hearty chuckle.
[Cogitatus] says: How did I see that one coming?
[Dahla] says: So it worked out all well and good for the hunters...
Braegh chuckles. 'What a present!'
Shaun grins.
[Dahla] says: But for my friend?
[Illyena] says: ...There's horde here...
Aryss eyes Thack up and down.
[Thackk] says: You don't say..
Aryss shrugs at Thack. Who knows?
[Dahla] says: He thought it was nothing but a catastrophy.
Dahla waits for it.
Shaun laughs at Dahla.
Arahshiel groans.
Strand /groans/.
[Flit] says: . . .
Cogitatus laughs at Dahla.
Braegh nods at Illyena. Ae. Their enjoying the stories...well, the one that can speak Common, is.'
[Aryss] says: *choke*
[Veras] says: Mmmmm.
Hallia chuckles.
Arrish eyes Dahla.
[Veras] says: Ow.
Potar winces, then laughs.
[Strand] says: See, Flit?
Thack pokes Aryss. Hey!
Flit winces.
Trinn snorts, then laughs, then turns back toward Strand.
[Trinn] says: Rescue us.
Dahla bows before Aryss.
Braegh nudges Aryss. Oy!
Flit nods weakly at Strand.
Gilleon seems like he did not get it.
[Dahla] says: Thank you.
Flit claps excitedly for Dahla.
Arrish ponders Thack's actions.
Malakazu claps excitedly for Dahla.
Gilleon eyes are bemused.
[Cogitatus] says: What the hell just happened to Aryss?
Thargan claps excitedly for Dahla.
Aryss coughs
Syddan applauds at Dahla. Bravo!
Shaun applauds at Dahla. Bravo!
Meris claps
Arahshiel claps excitedly for Dahla.
Illyena claps excitedly for Arrish.
Reinholt claps excitedly.
Potar claps excitedly for Dahla.
Maire claps excitedly for Dahla.
Thack applauds at Dahla. Bravo!
Illyena claps excitedly for Dahla.
Braegh claps excitedly for Dahla.
Sinka claps excitedly.
Cogitatus claps excitedly for Dahla.
Veras nods to Dahla and claps breifly
[Braegh] says: Good story!
Gilleon claps excitedly for Dahla.
Aryss coughs until the horrible pun is out of her head
Hallia claps excitedly for Dahla.
Flit grins and shakes her head.
Trinn reaches back and touches Dahla's knee for a moment, grinning.
Aryss lets out a hacking cough.
Thack cheers at Dahla!
[Strand] says: Rescue... that's... aye.
Dahla winks at Trinn, and grins over at Aryss. "All right there?"
Shaun smirks at Dahla. "Best one yet, I think. Sorry I'm late."
Syddan shoos Great Goretusk away. Be gone pest!
Aryss threatens Dahla with the wrath of doom.
[Thackk] says: Do you all mind if I smoke?
[Arrish] says: A good one, Dahla. I'm glad I didn't miss it.
Dahla pats Shaun's knee. "You got to hear the groan part. It's the only part that matters."
[Maire] says: Sit down.
[Strand] says: Who'd like to go next?
[Syddan] says: He was bothering me =(
Shaun grins.
[Syddan] says: Sory
[Syddan] says: Not another!
Meris scans the crowd.
[Maire] says: I was talking to the pig.
Trinn raises an eyebrow.
Arrish rubs her forehead, looking around the circle.
Meris nudges Arahshiel.
Trinn glances at Strand.
Thackk takes out a long wooden pipe and uses his Fire totem to light it.
Braegh places a Troll mask over his shaggy face.
Arahshiel pretends not to feel the nudge.
Flit looks around, hopeful.
[Strand] says: Anyone?
[Meris] says: People are being shy again.
[Trinn] says: Shy is normal, aye?
Malakazu remembers playing duck-duck-strider(tm) as a young elf
[Strand] says: Aye. Always happens, the first few.
[Flit] says: I guess I can go. . . .since I'm not first now.
Gilleon shrugs. "It happens."
Strand grins over at Flit, encouraging.
Trinn smiles at Flit.
Syddan cheers at Flit!
Cogitatus listens to Flit.
Cogitatus smiles at Flit.
Thack cheers at Flit!
[Meris] says: I may be missing a prop. Unless..
Potar smiles at Flit.
Braegh quirks an eyebrow at Malakazu. 'Duck-duck-strider?'
[Flit] says: I was hopin' Nim would show up. . . .since we promised we'd tell Mr. Cogiatatus a story 'bout Gnomeregan.
Meris begins looking through her bags.
Saracy pats Flit on the head encouragingly.
[Braegh] says: Nim's a funny one, 'eem!
[Flit] says: 'Cept he isn't here. . . so I guess I have to do it alone.
[Strand] says: Ah, I was looking forward to this one, too.
Flit swallows hard.
[Cogitatus] says: Take it easy.
Cogitatus smiles at Flit.
[Trinn] says: I think you have stories of your own to tell, Flit.
[Flit] says: This woulda been much better with the accompanying fireworks and stuff. . . .
Trinn smiles encouraginly.l
Flit grins sheepishly.
[Meris] says: We can probably imagine them.
[Cogitatus] says: We'll imagine whatever's missing.
Cogitatus smiles at Flit.
[Flit] says: Anyway, this's a story my uncle used to tell me. I might mess up some of it.
Flit takes a deep breath.
Arrish moves aside a little, quietly, to fill in the hole in the circle.
Aryss makes room for Clorber
Rheyann kneels down.
Dahla smiles at Flit as she settles in to listen.
[Flit] says: Down in the city, where nobody goes,
Cogitatus listens intently.
[Flit] says: past the workshops and hangars and ‘copters in rows,
Strand listens, rapt.
[Flit] says: where the folks, if you see them, are folks no one knows,
[Flit] says: Is the Great Hall of Gears.
Trinn wraps her arms around her knees and listens intently to Flit.
Flit takes another deep breath and tries to look less nervous.
[Flit] says: “What makes it great?” you could probably ask
Cogitatus seems to be trying to remember something as he listens to Flit.
Arrish laces her hands together, listening to Flit.
[Flit] says: since the gears are all spinning away with no task.
[Flit] says: The gears are just turning and churning the air
[Flit] says: and the cogs and the wheels they once moved aren’t there.
[2. Dramatis] Moderation privileges given to Soulstyce.
Flit sighs, "Well, there was a gnome once, (he might be there today)"
Possesed smiles at Clorber.
Possesed grins wickedly at Clorber.
[Flit] says: who, if you could find the right pub in Booty Bay
Meris leans in and whispers to Arahshiel.
Veryxia whispers. "Away, gnome. "
Flit grins impishly, "and slipped him four gold and a half as his pay, would tell you the tale, and here’s what he’d say:"
Veras looks to Maire and nods
[Flit] says: A long time ago, getting longer, it seems,
Possesed stretches playfully.
Maire nods subtly to Veras.
[Flit] says: that old place was held by the Tinker Machine.
[Flit] says: The Tinker Machine, ah! The Tinker Machine! A finer contraption had never been seen,
[Veras] says: 8 Err Thats and old face
[Veras] says: ((mt))
[Flit] says: It could cook, it could sew, it could bank, it could clean!
[Flit] says: It made cheap electricity, and coffee with cream
[Flit] says: and ran most of Gnomeregan just like a dream.
Flit swallows and fidgets a little.
Maire walks the perimeter of the circle to a familiar face.
Cogitatus smiles at Flit encouragingly.
Veryxia grins, a fan of poetry herself.
[Flit] says: (Who built it exactly I’ve long since forgot)
[Flit] says: but it’s simpler to tell you what that thing could NOT
Trinn looks back at Maire in surprise, then urges her forward.
[Flit] says: than to list all the things it could do in a jiffy,
Strand listens, intrigued.
[Flit] says: It wasn’t a wonder we found it so spiffy.
[Flit] says: Now there was just one thing that it couldn’t do.
Flit grins, "It’s a trick that can only be done by a few."
Gilleon closes his eyes, his attention still there, his face showing his attention to the tale.
Cogitatus listens even more closely now.
Aryss cracks her knuckles, idly wiping at a spot of blood
[Flit] says: It could fix every gadget in every gnome’s home, and while it was at it, refinance their loans, but it could not maintain all its gears on its own.
[Flit] says: So I built a repair bot, E-268 to maintain the Tinker Machine’s perfect state and keep it in optimal running condition so the Tinker Machine could continue its mission
[Flit] says: to make our lives easy as blueberry pie (And, naturally, made me one heck of a guy.)
Cogitatus smiles at Flit.
Strand tilts his head.
Aryss eyes Clorber up and down.
Flit smiles, "Day after day, the Tinker Machine ran"
[Flit] says: Making heat and ‘lectricty and strawberry jam.
[Flit] says: And day after day E-268 Kept that ‘ole Tinker Machine running great.
Trinn grins. "I do like jam."
Flit beams at Trinn.
Trinn beams back.
[Flit] says: And things in Gnomeregan were easy as pie
[Flit] says: . . .until the first fuse in E-268 fried.
[Flit] says: It appeared at my doorstep at ten minutes to nine,
Strand looks worried.
Trinn squeezes Maire's hand, then moves back up next to Strand.
[Flit] says: and it said, with a whirring bronze gizmo-y whine, “Can you fix me up, sir? I gotta admit my rotors are just about ready to quit. ‘An I’m not so sure I can manage the climb to the top of the axle I gotta align.”
Aryss sneezes
Flit scratches her nose and goes on, "And I have to say, when it said that to me"
You wave at Uwe.
[Flit] says: I wasn’t in quite the best mood I could be.
[Flit] says: And I told it I’d go and take care of it later
[Flit] says: then went out to visit my favorite wine trader.
Sinka waves at Rheyann.
[Flit] says: Though E-268 wasn’t in the best health no one quite noticed it over their wealth, and things went along on the usual track . . . until the day E-268 came back.
Rheyann nods at Sinka.
[Flit] says: It called out to me with all of its might, “Mister, there’s a motor coupling not right in my core, and if you don’t get me some oil I fear I won’t be able to re-wire that coil.”
[Flit] says: But I was too busy, (I’d business, you know)
[Flit] says: so I sent it away, and the days seemed to grow longer and slower and things started to go . . .
[Flit] says: a little bit wrong, here and there just a /bit/
[Flit] says: as one thing or another in town just, well, QUIT.
Trinn smiles at Flit.
Flit smiles wryly, "And people (I’m sure you know how it works)"
[Flit] says: started complaining of all of the quirks
[Flit] says: the Tinker Machine had that just didn’t seem proper – How sometimes when you asked it for copper
[Flit] says: it gave you a herring, or sometimes it chimed
[Flit] says: for eleven o’clock at a quarter to nine.
Trinn grins at flit.
Flit swallows again, and takes another deep breath.
Cogitatus chuckles and mutters "Oh dear."
Cogitatus smiles encouragingly at Flit again.
[Flit] says: So down I went to the hall of the Tinker Machine to see just /whatever/ there was to be seen.
[Flit] says: And there, at the top of the very top tier
[Flit] says: of the Tinker Machine’s primary drive gear
[Flit] says: was E-268, with his welding torch out
Strand leans forward, listening.
Sethmont greets everyone warmly.
[Flit] says: so I, at the top of my lungs gave a shout, “Hey, what are you doing? There’s something amiss with the darned machine now, and it’s your job to fix!”
[Flit] says: But E-268 didn’t give me one word.
[Flit] says: Not a look, not a gesture, not one sound was heard
[Flit] says: but the sound of the torch, as it worked up above,
[Flit] says: so I climbed up the assembly, and gave it a shove.
[Flit] says: E-268, the repair bot I’d made, looked up at me, and I saw the lights fade from its display, and then from inside, all of the motor sounds in it just died,
Cogitatus listens and tenses at the impending disaster.
Flit smiles sadly, "and with a sound like a dozen gnomes ringing a bell, E-268 toppled over and fell."
[Flit] says: It was certainly broken, that much I knew,
Thack gasps at Flit.
Flit nods at Thack, "the trouble was what exactly to /do/,"
Cogitatus gapes in amused exasperation.
[Flit] says: see, the problem, if I may be perfectly frank,
[Flit] says: is that while all these coins were poured into my bank,
Flit grins, "and I ate ice cream and hobnobbed with the swank, enduring so much of the praise and the thanks,"
Aelannor eyes Aryss up and down.
Thack gasps at Aryss.
[Flit] says: there was one thing I lost, and, boy, I lost it well, and I simply hadn’t been able to tell.
Trinn nods at Aelannor.
Aryss coughs
Strand makes a sitting bow to Dugald.
[Thackk] says: The poor bunny...
Aelannor nods back over at Trinn.
[Flit] says: I’d forgotten just how to repair things, you see since I’d made a machine that could do it for me
[Flit] says: I asked around town, and believe me, I’m not funning, if /anyone/ there could get him up and running.
Aryss blinks, and her eyes seem to glint red in the light
Flit averts her eyes from the bunny.
Thackk is amused by the irony.
Cogitatus shakes his head.
[Flit] says: But each gnome that I met sighed, and turned away, we’d forgotten ourselves with all of our play.
[Flit] says: And the Tinker machine? Well, it finally stopped.
[Flit] says: In the middle of making ice cream it just popped.
[Flit] says: And pieces of it just came falling away
[Flit] says: like a haystack you jump on until there’s no hay,
[Flit] says: and we carted them out of the old machine bay.
[Flit] says: None of us spoke, there was nothing to say.
Flit swallows again.
[Flit] says: Life in the city slowed down to a crawl, we were all terribly disheartened and all.
Cogitatus nods in encouragement towards Flit.
[Flit] says: I forget where I was when I heard the cry, someone found on the axle, a word written:
[Flit] says: TRY
[Flit] says: Back then, I didn’t know what it could mean, we were all far to busy remembering our dreams, re-learning gizmos and things of that type, recovering Gnomeregan from its memory wipe.
[Flit] says: But I’ve had a long time to think on it, see, an’ wonder what that bot was telling to me.
[Flit] says: So I’ll tell it to you, it isn’t too late,
Thack blinks at Flit.
[Flit] says: even though some things may not go so great
[Flit] says: that there’s nothing that’s finished, there’s no kind of fate
[Flit] says: so you /can’t/ just sit happy with food on your plate,
[Flit] says: you have to keep trying, it’s all up to you
[Flit] says: to make all the things you imagine to do.
Flit grins, glad to be finished.
Cogitatus claps excitedly for Flit.
Mharty cheers at Flit!
Hallia claps excitedly for Flit.
Meris claps excitedly for Flit.
A sly smirk spreads across Rheyann's face.
Syddan applauds at Flit. Bravo!
Shaun applauds at Flit. Bravo!
[Cogitatus] says: Wonderful story.
Potar smiles at Flit.
Sinka claps excitedly for Flit.
Maire claps excitedly for Flit.
Sethmont cheers at Flit!
Thack applauds at Flit. Bravo!
Potar applauds at Flit. Bravo!
Jorii claps excitedly for Flit.
Sarte applauds at Flit. Bravo!
Ashyne claps excitedly for Flit.
Aelannor claps excitedly for Flit.
Saracy claps excitedly for Illyena.
Gilleon claps excitedly.
Reinholt leans over to Mharty and gives her a kiss on the cheek. He smiles and gets up, clapping as he does.
Dahla applauds at Flit. Bravo!
Malakazu claps excitedly for Thack.
Reinholt claps excitedly.
Illyena claps excitedly for Flit.
Syddan roars with bestial vigor at Great Goretusk. So fierce!
Arrish claps excitedly for Flit.
Illyena gently pats Flit.
Ashyne claps excitedly for Flit.
Saracy claps excitedly for Flit.
Sethmont waves at Reinholt.
[Hallia] says: Wonderful poem, Flit. Thank you !
Arahshiel claps excitedly for Flit.
Flit turns bright red.
Hallia claps excitedly for Flit.
Reinholt nods.
[Thackk] says: I cannot stand gnome machines.
Aryss smiles at Flit
Flit makes a face at Thack.
Syddan sighs at Great Goretusk.
[Syddan] says: Bah sorry
Strand claps, impressed.
[Thackk] says: Gnomergan is the creepiest place I have ever been,
[Strand] says: That was wonderful, Flit; thank you.
Flit smiles.
[Thackk] says: And I have been to the Undercity!
[Cogitatus] says: Well, Gnomeregan is in poor condition, today.
[Cogitatus] says: I was down there since our last Story Night.
[Strand] says: Won't be forever.
[Flit] says: We'll fix it.
Meris glances back over her shoulder at the 3 men by the stump.
[Cogitatus] says: Terrible to see such a fine city in...
Reinholt smiles at Meris.
Cogitatus is at a loss for words.
Meris nudges Arahshiel again, this time a little harder.
Arrish rubs her arms.
[Strand] says: No doubt of that, Flit.
[Cogitatus] says: I hope it will be fixed, Flit.
[Strand] says: Who'll stand up and tell a story for their supper next?
Lothorial eyes Aelannor up and down.
Arrish nods slowly to Flit.
Arahshiel smiles, pursing her lips.
[Hallia] says: Soon I will be ready to lend a hand.
Aelannor smiles at Lothorial.
Aryss eyes Rabbit up and down.
[Cogitatus] says: I would love to see it again as a living city, again.
[Arahshiel] says: I shall, if you will grant me the time.
[Flit] says: It will be, someday.
Cogitatus looks at Arahshiel.
[Strand] says: Please.
Arahshiel rises slowly to her feet.
Sethmont waves at Mharty.
Lothorial smiles at Arahshiel.
Arahshiel looks around the circles as she retrieves some papers.
Aelannor grins wickedly at Aryss.
Syddan frowns.
Thack bares his teeth and snarls at Aryss.
[Arahshiel] says: I wrote this for someone once....
[Arahshiel] says: But I thought I would share it.
Vereta pants heavily
Arahshiel unrolls the parchment and prepares to read.
Vereta whispers "Sorry I'm late"
Aryss blinks and shakes her head, as if startled
[Arahshiel] says: Unending beauty, sweet seduction.
Gilleon looks up to Arahshiel.
Aelannor waves at Alerac.
[Arahshiel] says: A siren's call that one dares not resist.
Sethmont waves at Vereta.
[Arahshiel] says: We hear it, we taste it, we seek it willingly,
Veras stretches
Vereta nods at Sethmont.
[Arahshiel] says: And perhaps without it, desire may not true exist.
Vereta pokes Aelannor. Hey!
Aelannor grins wickedly at Vereta.
[Arahshiel] says: It is exquisite, it haunts one's soul,
Vereta waves at Cogitatus.
Reinholt pulls Mharty closer and smiles as he listens to Arahshiel.
[Arahshiel] says: Oh insidious incubus which we invite!
Arrish tilts her head, listening to Arahshiel.
Syddan applauds at Cogitatus. Bravo!
Cogitatus waves at Vereta.
Gilleon leans back against the log.
[Arahshiel] says: We risk all, as some do for power,
Vereta lies down before Cogitatus.
Aryss chews idly on a handful of fresh mushrooms
[Arahshiel] says: Oh to worship... the Master Night.
Vereta lies down.
Thack lies down before Aryss.
[Arahshiel] says: But even in those depths, some fear to tread.
[Arahshiel] says: Where steel hearts and minds do stand.
Thack lies down.
[Arahshiel] says: Remember the flesh, the petals, if truly abused,
Ivan walks up as quietly as he can and kneels down to listen.
Lothorial waves at Ivan.
Sethmont gently pats Thack.
Veras shrugs
Ivan kneels down.
Thack cuddles up against Vereta.
[Arahshiel] says: May not return again.
Thack lies down before Vereta.
Arrish glances over to Ivan and nods a little.
Arahshiel stops for a moment.
Vereta is really creeped out by the giant orc shaman laying next to him
Meris listens attentively to Arahshiel.
Syddan frowns with disappointment at Great Goretusk.
Sethmont gently pats Thack.
Sethmont gently pats Vereta.
Thack purrs at Sethmont.
Cogitatus listens intently, but appears confused.
Arahshiel looks around... "One part of the poem.. I have read now."
[Arahshiel] says: This part was accompanied by a red rose.
Vereta wonders to himself.."anybody else see the orc?"
Flit smiles.
[Arahshiel] says: And now.. the second.. which was bundled with a black rose.
Arahshiel unrolls the second scroll.
Aryss eyes Thack up and down.
[Arahshiel] says: I do not ask you to turn your face,
Thack winks slyly at Aryss.
[Arahshiel] says: From the night and towards the sun,
Veras looks to Rheyann and tilts his head
Arrish listens to Arahshiel intently.
Veras shrugs
Aryss looks around, but can't seem to see the Orc..
Cogitatus quietly says to Vereta, "Pay no mind to the orc. We leave conflict outside the circle."
[Arahshiel] says: A feat that even I may not do,
[Arahshiel] says: Undo that path, and be yourself undone.
Gilleon closes his eyes again, face still attentive to Arahshiel, looking at her with lidded eyes.
[Arahshiel] says: Each soul has a thorn, which we may embrace,
Vereta eases up at begins to cuddle under the warmth of the fire
Trinn watches Veras, head held high.
[Arahshiel] says: And once' pric'k'd, oh endless aching need!
[Arahshiel] says: But remember, even in the rose, no matter its color,
[Arahshiel] says: The caretaker must not crush, in his gloved hands, our capacity to bleed.
[Arahshiel] says: I do not preach, I do not presume,
[Arahshiel] says: To know where your path has led.
Sethmont rubs Vereta's head and pats it.
[Arahshiel] says: But remember the beauty, and the lesson...
[Arahshiel] says: In the black.... and the red....
Arahshiel rolls up the scroll and nods slightly.
Cogitatus claps excitedly for Arahshiel.
Flit applauds at Arahshiel. Bravo!
[Arahshiel] says: And that is my poem.
Trinn claps politely.
Aryss applauds at Arahshiel. Bravo!
Syddan applauds at Arahshiel. Bravo!
Meris smiles at Arahshiel.
Shaun claps excitedly for Arahshiel.
Illyena claps excitedly for Arahshiel.
Lothorial claps excitedly for Arahshiel.
Vereta claps
Aelannor claps excitedly for Arahshiel.
[Arahshiel] says: Thank you for listening.
Potar claps excitedly for Arahshiel.
Maire claps excitedly for Arahshiel.
Hallia claps excitedly for Arahshiel.
Thack applauds at Arahshiel. Bravo!
Ivan smiles.
Dahla applauds at Arahshiel. Bravo!
Sethmont claps excitedly.
Jorii claps excitedly for Arahshiel.
Gilleon claps excitedly for Arahshiel.
Arrish applauds quietly.
Saracy thanks Arahshiel.
[Cogitatus] says: That's a nice poem, though I have to admit I still don't udnerstand what it was about.
Gilleon opens his eyes slowly.
You clap excitedly for Arahshiel.
Ashyne claps quietly, politely.
Veras claps breifly
Vereta lies down.
[Veras] says: One second
Meris grins at Cogitatus. 'Maybe only certain people are ever meant to understand."
Dahla nods at Veras.
Flit looks up at Veras
Cogitatus laughs at Meris.
Arrish glances at Veras as he leaves, then looks around the circle.
Syddan lets out a long, drawn-out sigh.
Syddan waves goodbye to everyone. Farewell!
[Strand] says: Who'd like to speak next?
Gilleon smiles gently looking over to his right.
Trinn watches Strand, beaming.
Sethmont rubs his chin and thinks. "It's tempting..."
Potar raises his hand alowly.
Potar *slowly
Saracy pokes Great Goretusk. Hey!
Meris nods approvingly at Potar.
[Strand] says: Potar! Yes, please.
Flit grins.
Trinn nudges Strand and looks over at Potar.
[Thackk] says: Ah Potor, I remember you from Alterac Valley yesterday.
Strand looks to Trinn, and smiles sudden, radiant.
Cogitatus turns his attention to Potar.
Trinn captures Strand's hand in hers, face turned toward Potar.
Trinn urges Dahla closer.
[Potar] says: I share with you tonight, a poem, about a very ancient song, sung by those from my native land. Not Northshire as some of you may think, but of Northrend, where I was born.
Arrish gives Edum a sidelong look and a polite nod, then returns her attention to Potar.
Flit looks curious.
Potar takes a small breath before beginning.
[Potar] says: A windswept shore, chill more than light, was home to many a soul. Hundreds of years was their presence made, on the tundra of northern fold.
Potar looks around as he continues.
Edum nods subtly at Arrish before he tilts his gaze up to Potar, leaning back to rest on his hands, knees bent slightly and pulled up towards his chest.
[Potar] says: They toiled and they worked to serve one another, to assure everyone survives. And in darkest times, they sang a tune, to embolden their enduring lives.
Arrish listens very intently to Potar.
Thack yawns sleepily at Potar.
Ashyne glaces over to Trinn, and back at Dahla, casually, before returning his attention to Potar.
Gilleon scratches his chin, as if words he said triggered a thought.
Thack lets Potar know that he was just kidding!
Potar takes another breath, his voice a deep tenor as he sings words from a long-ago language.
[Potar] says: [Primitive Arathorian] "Isu a-mor ti cal ma shri ** Shor rish ul ittis ** Kret a blos endra kala nock ** Geras coul ander tu."
Strand listens, fascinated.
Ashyne smiles.
Potar looks around once again, then resumes.
[Potar] says: One day a curse came from world's top, and crawled forth as an undying beast. A shadow slithered o'er ice and snow, poisoning everything with what it released.
Trinn watches Potar, eyes shining.
Potar looks down sligtly, reciting more.
[Potar] says: The people held firm and did not go away; they weathered the bitter attack. With heads held high they 'stood the tide, with a song; the seas to their back.
[Thackk] says: I have to go now friends.
Cogitatus listens, but has a sad expression on his face as he guesses what Potar is talking about.
[Thackk] says: Farewell.
Cogitatus waves at Thack.
Dugald waves goodbye to Thack. Farewell!
Thack bows down graciously.
Flit waves at Thack.
Potar takes a deep breath and begins singing once again, his tenor stronger.
[Potar] says: [Primitive Arathorian] "Isu a-mor ti cal ma shri ** Shor rish ul ittis ** Kret a blos endra kala nock ** Geras coul ander tu."
Arrish nods a little to Thack, polite, then listens to the song, brow furrowed slightly.
Potar looks around as he once again reverts to poetic speech.
[Potar] says: Nineteen men called the rest to boat, and sail from the arctic lands. The rot and the dead could not be slowed; the assault was too much to withstand.
Edum sighs softly, head cocked slightly to the side as he continues to listen to Potar, a brow slightly quirked.
[Potar] says: The men did not falter from their vow to fight, for those whom they swore to defend. They sang their song as the ship left shore, their voices heard all o'er Northrend.
Potar takes a deep breath and begins singing once more.
[Potar] says: [Primitive Arathorian] "Isu a-mor ti cal ma shri ** Shor rish ul ittis ** Kret a blos endra kala nock ** Geras coul ander tu."
Flit smiles.
Dahla listens in silence, caught by the language as much as the singing.
Illyena waves at Flit.
Potar looks down as he recites, the last words echoing memories he can barely remember.
Veryxia nods to those gathered.. and wanders away, suddenly.
[Potar] says: The cries of the women and elders were heard, but were nothing compared to the sound...of the Chorus of men who were doomed to die. The defiant, on frozen ground.
Cogitatus listens to the singing and tries to silently mouth the words.
Trinn watches, nodding slightly.
[Potar] says: The rousing song heard o'er again, as the ship sailed out of sight. Nineteen men fought valiantly and brave. 'A fire to extinguish the night.'
Potar sings, this time in the modern common.
[Potar] says: "Ice and death that chill my bones ** are washed o'er the shore ** my soul is my fire to extinguish the night ** doom threatens me no more."
Trinn watches, enraptured.
Potar closes his eyes as the poem draws to a close.
Cogitatus claps excitedly for Potar.
Potar bows down graciously.
Ashyne claps excitedly for Potar.
Strand is silent for a moment, then claps, slow and sure.
Jorii claps excitedly for Potar.
Arahshiel claps excitedly for Potar.
Flit applauds at Potar. Bravo!
Dahla releases a breath she hadn't realized she was holding, before applauding in wonder.
Hallia claps excitedly for Potar.
[Edum] says: Most excellent, Friend Potar....
Maire nods solemnly to Potar.
Arrish bows before Potar.
Edum bows before Potar.
Saracy nods at Potar.
Meris smiles warmly at Potar.
Flit beams at Potar.
You bow before Potar.
Gilleon claps slowly in a peaceful manner.
Shaun applauds at Potar. Bravo!
Arrish sits back down, wordlessly.
Dahla smiles at Potar.
Veras claps excitedly.
Edum smiles ruefully, shaking his head slightly in awe.
Potar takes another deep breath, settling the bit of nerves in his body.
Ashyne gets up and lets a small white kitten out of it's carrier.
Flit gives Potar a sidelong sympathetic smile.
Strand is silent a minute longer, before he says, "Someday, we'll sit this circle in Lordaeron."
Meris lets her eyes trail around the circle for a few minutes.
Flit nods.
Trinn looks at Strand and nods slowly.
[Meris] says: In Lordaeron?
Arrish gives Strand a startled look, then nods slowly.
Cogitatus stares into the fire at the mention of Lordaeron.
Veras haves a sigh andruns a hand through his hair
Shaun gives Strand an affirmative nod.
[Hallia] says: Aye. Let that be a promise for us all.
Gilleon looks over to Mharty.
Ivan tilts his head to the bright figure beside him before returning his attention to the circle.
[Meris] says: Well now... Hallia, didn't you haev something?
Trinn looks to Hallia with interest.
Flit waves at Fizzlepocket.
[Meris] says: Or did I misinterpret your signals?
[Hallia] says: Me? No. Not tonight.
Fizzlepocket hops off his mechanostrider, and pauses for a moment to get the kick stand down.
Flit whispers, "Hi, Fizzle!"
Fizzlepocket whispers back... "What'd I miss?"
[Cogitatus] says: So, anyone want some dinner before the next story?
Meris waves at the gnome with a somewhat perplexed look.
Garond wispers "Good evening corporal" to each of them.
Aryss stretches
Flit grins, "Stories. Not Mellor, though."
[Meris] says: Not I...
Fizzlepocket pauses a moment, staring at Garond.... ".... Is that you?"
[Meris] says: Hmm. It did seem odd there were no mouse stories tonight.
[Strand] says: Oh, aye. Not Mellor yet.
Garond wispers back "Yes."
Flit grins.
Maire brushes herself off.
Trinn beams at Strand.
[Meris] says: But... for next Tuesday ... philosophy night?
Fizzlepocket peers at Garond... "Well, you're quite the snazzy dresser."
Edum sighs softly as he pushes himself to his feet, brushig his gloved hands down his tunic as he offers Arrish a faint smile before glancing over at his former guildmates only to dip his head in a farewell.
Meris looks to Strand.
Fizzlepocket looks around..
Flit watches Saracy get up, curious.
Strand nods. "Aye, aye. On Tuesday. I might ought figure out the topic."
[Strand] says: Who's to speak next tonight?
Arrish nods a goodbye to Edum.
Fizzlepocket waves to the Winter's end crew, and keeps walkin' around to see who's here.
Tragedy waves at Aryss.
Trinn glances at Strand. "Problem of...charity, perhaps? Useless or no?"
Dahla grins at Fizlepocket and waves.
Aryss grins wickedly at Tragedy.
Cogitatus waves at Fizzlepocket.
[Meris] says: I think we're back to the herding cats bit.
[Strand] says: Oh, that's good.
Aryss smiles at Demure.
Mharty smiles at Ivan.
Tragedy smiles at Fizzlepocket.
Fizzlepocket waves at Alerac... "You look quite sober tonight."
[Alerac] says: Sadly, yeah.
Ashyne 's kitten walks around Dahla, looking as if it is stalking something.
[Meris] says: Unless we want to discuss what to discuss Tuesday - but that may bore the less erudite.
Ivan smiles at Mharty in return, inclining his head slightly.
[Strand] says: All right. I'll subject you to field mice, since everyone's...
[Fizzlepocket] says: Ah... we got the same monicle now.
Dahla watches the kitten with interest, before grinning. "Yes. Mellor."
[Alerac] says: ...pity.
[Fizzlepocket] says: We're sophisticated gentlemen, y'know.
[Alerac] says: And I LIKED the style, too.
Flit beams.
Trinn sits, looking a bit scattered, and holds her hand up Strand.
Strand squeezes once before letting go of Trinn's hand, and standing.
Shaun smiles at you.
Cogitatus chuckles slightly and turns his attention to Strand.
[Fizzlepocket] says: 'Ey! If anything, I improve this style ten fold!
Fizzlepocket smacks Alerac across the back of the head, and jumps off the log.
Arrish shifts her weight, listening to Strand.
Flit blinks at Fizzlepocket.
Dahla watches Fizzle and Alerac with a grin.
Aryss eyes Panda Cub up and down.
[Strand] says: So, as has been rumored once or twice, and as all people who pay attention to the affairs of small creatures know...
Gilleon looks up to Strand.
Aryss eyes the Panda Cub with an odd look on her face
[Strand] says: There's this field mouse named Mellor. He's the cleverest field mouse, you know.
Trinn grins happily.
Flit nods.
Potar smiles at you.
Cogitatus smiles at you.
Dahla grins at Strand.
Arrish glances at the sleeping panda cub, then nods a little, looking to Strand.
Lothorial mutters something about damned mice.
[Strand] says: There are a /lot/ of Mellor stories; you've heard some of them. But there was this one time when he decided he needed a mount.
[Strand] says: And that is the Mellor story I will tell tonight.
Maire snickers.
Trinn grins.
Cogitatus chuckles quietly.
Tragedy nods, "I can identify with Mellor on this one."
Flit blinks. "Mice got mounts?"
Aryss tries to picture what a Field Mouse could ride...
Dahla quirks a brow. "Hmmm."
Ivan kneels down.
[Strand] says: Mellor was lounging around in front of the Cathedral one day, you see, when he was nearly overrun by a human on a pony.
Aryss grins at Tragedy
[Strand] says: With a blanket.
Gilleon looks perplexed.
Garond can't immagine what a mouse would use for a mount.
Trinn laughs aloud.
Demure pokes the panda cub gently, hoping he'll quit sleeping
Flit nods, understanding.
Shaun grins at that.
[Strand] says: And after he'd recovered himself, he found himself noticing how /fast/ the pony went.
Dahla hoots softly.
Arrish smiles very faintly, and listens more closely to the story.
[Strand] says: And decided, like a sensible field mouse, that he wanted one for himself.
Cogitatus quietly says "Heh".
Trinn girns over at Dahla.
Nikian sighs softly as he unslings his sword, setting it against the tree beside him, leaning back at the sametime to slide down the trunk of the tree to sit.
[Strand] says: So -- he was a clever field mouse. He knew where the stable was, in Goldshire.
Strand mimes a field mouse setting out from the Stormwind gates.
Flit wriggles expectantly.
[Strand] says: Scurry, scurry little field mouse! He made the long journey down to Goldshire, heartened by the knowledge that he would be riding back.
[Strand] says: On a pony, perhaps with a blanket.
Arrish glances over toward Nikian, raising her hand in a brief greeting.
Trinn grins.
Lothorial grumbles.
[Strand] says: And he came to the stable, where he bargained long and hard with the stable boy.
[Strand] says: Now, a horse normally costs quite a sum of money. Mellor... did not have such a sum.
[Strand] says: But he's a clever field mouse, and he bargained the stable boy down.
Trinn whispers, "Free, for paladins."
Nikian smiles warmly at Arrish as he lifts a hand briefly in hello, his eyes drifting to Strand, leaning forward slightly as he listens.
[Strand] says: An hour later, Mellor gave the stable boy ten coppers and prepared to take possession of his new horse.
Tragedy wishes the Sabre Handlers were so open to haggling.
Flit 's eyes widen.
Uwe glares angrily at Trinn.
Shaun narrows his eyes with mock anger at Trinn.
Gilleon looks baffled.. "10 copper...."
[Strand] says: And... well. Do you think that a few minutes later he rode back to the gates of Stormwind, proud of his new steed?
Aryss chuckles at Tragedy
[Cogitatus] says: Well...
Trinn tries to hide beneath blades of grass.
Arrish murmurs softly, "Of course not."
Flit sighs, "Probably no. . . ."
[Dahla] says: Of course not. It's Mellor.
[Shaun] says: Not really. No.
[Cogitatus] says: Considering previous Mellor stories, I'm guessing.....
[Cogitatus] says: No.
Aryss chuckles at Panda Cub.
Strand shakes his head sadly. "He did not. Horses are /tall/, and Mellor is /short/. Like, well, like a field mouse."
Strand crouches down, holding his hand a few inches above the ground. "Like so."
Uwe waves at Kraug.
Gilleon nods expectingly.
Kraug nods at Uwe.
Trinn thwacks Alerac on the shoulder and sits down.
Demure greets Kraug warmly.
Dahla grins as she watches Strand.
[Lothorial] says: So the horse ate him right?
Tragedy blinks at Kraug.
Cogitatus laughs at Lothorial.
[Strand] says: No. Field mice are different from hay.
Arahshiel grins.
Alerac looks over with a start, cutting off a couple of swear words, and scowls at Trinn.
Flit nods sagely.
Lothorial sighs.
Trinn scowls back at Alerac, then smiles.
[Strand] says: Disappointed by both his failure to get aboard his horse and his failure to persuade the stable boy to return his ten copper, Mellor made his way back to the city.
[Cogitatus] says: I don't suppose a field mouse could just *climb* up a horse?
Strand nods at Cogitatus. "You don't suppose correctly."
[Dahla] says: Poor Mellor. That's a fortune for him.
Trinn grins at Alerac.
Alerac grumbles, turning back to Strand.
Trinn rolls her eyes at Alerac, but stays put.
[Strand] says: It's a sizable amount, mmm.
[Strand] says: So, thought Mellor. All right. Horses are large.
Aryss tries to conceive of HOW a field mouse could carry ten copper coins, but gives up before her head starts to hurt
Strand glances around, then points at Bunny. "Cats, however, are smaller. So he travelled to Darnassus."
Kraug gently pats Bunny.
Flit winces, "Uh oh. . . "
Trinn grins, turning to Al on occasion just to glare at him and keep him awake.
Ashyne laughs.
[Dahla] says: ... by pelican?
Aryss snorts in her Moonberry Juice
[Strand] says: Once there, he managed to talk his way up the tree.
Aryss laughs.
[Shaun] says: Erm. Cat's eat...
[Fizzlepocket] says: Y'know, for the most cleverest field mouse.... he's an idiot.
Lothorial smirks slyly at Alerac.
Flit grins wickedly at Fizzlepocket.
Uwe laughs at Fizzlepocket.
Strand gives Dahla a blank look. "By boat. Pelican? Who'd take a pelican to Darnassus?"
[Cogitatus] says: Wasn't Mellor having problems that *last* time he tried to go to Darnassus?
Gilleon shakes his head and places it in his hand.
Dahla rolls her eyes and makes a face at Strand.
Flit giggles at you.
[Fizzlepocket] says: I'd hate t'see the most special field mouse.
Aryss eyes Crimson Snake up and down.
[Arrish] says: Oh, but that's another story.
Strand allows himself a sigh. "This is not the story of how Mellor tried to get to Darnassus. Aye."
[Strand] says: Where was I? Oh! Yes; he talked his way up the tree, and then he talked his way into an audience with the Ancient of Field Mice.
[Flit] says: Ooooh.
Saracy smiles at Fizzlepocket.
Maire stifles a laugh.
Veras raises an eyebrow
[Kraug] says: [Orcish] Tar
Cogitatus listens intently to Strand.
Shaun covers a smirk.
[Strand] says: By 'talked,' I mean that he snuck between the legs of a number of Sentinels.
Hallia chuckles
[Arrish] says: Which is more shaped like a bush than a tree.
Flit nods.
Tragedy rolls on the floor laughing at you.
Cogitatus laughs at you.
Strand nods to Arrish, beaming.
Kraug grins wickedly.
[Fizzlepocket] says: Ah, been there, Strand.
Dahla chuckles quietly.
Ashyne doubts the sentiles would be so easily fooled, but decides not to speak up.
[Strand] says: He and the Ancient talked long into the night as Mellor -- the cleverest field mouse -- made his case.
[Strand] says: And at last, at finally, the Ancient agreed that a field mouse named Mellor should be permitted to tame a nightsaber.
Veras blinks
Aryss cackles maniacally at you.
[Veras] says: Poor mouse.
[Strand] says: Or. To try and tame a nightsaber. Nobody's ever accused Mellor of thinking, um, small.
[Nikian] says: So, Mellor was a Barrister, Friend?
Flit winces.
[Gilleon] says: this is bad....
Dahla winces. "This can't end well."
[Lothorial] says: So the kitty is gonna eat him...right?...please?
[Uwe] says: Ho boy
Arahshiel 's eyes widen at the suggestion.
[Strand] says: He could have been a barrister, if field mice were permitted to practice law in Stormwind.
[Cogitatus] says: A field mouse... *tame*... a nightsaber?
Kraug makes some strange gestures.
Arrish gives Nikian a very small smile. "That's another story."
[Trinn] says: Mellor is /most/ talented.
[Aryss] says: Aye, he'll tame him from the inside
[Cogitatus] says: I'm already starting to see a problem, here.
Cogitatus chuckles.
Uwe giggles at Aryss.
Nikian chuckles softly with a nod at Arrish's words, jade eyes on Strand, elbows resting on his knees.
[Strand] says: Scurry, scurry little field mouse, down to meet your fate -- Um. Down to meet your steed!
Cogitatus laughs at Aryss.
Flit looks worried.
[Trinn] says: Steed! not fate!
Cogitatus laughs at you.
Strand mimes a small mouse, and a large cat. Who is interested in the mouse.
Arrish murmurs, "Fateful steed."
Dahla covers her mouth. "Oh dear."
[Strand] says: Fateful steed, aye. How do you think the attempt to tame the nightsaber went?
Ashyne winces.
[Lothorial] says: Bad! The kitty ate him.
[Uwe] says: Poorly
Flit shudders, "Hopefully not as bad as I think. . . ."
[Gilleon] says: not god...
[Strand] says: Not so well.
Cogitatus just sits in amused silence in response to Strand's question.
[Arrish] says: Mellor's had better days.
Flit braces herself.
Veras looks to Arrish
[Uwe] says: I'd say
[Veras] says: According to the stories?
[Strand] says: Since this is not the story of how Mellor escaped a very hungry nightsaber, I won't explain the details. But suffice it to say...
[Veras] says: Not really.
[Kraug] says: [Orcish] Tar
Aryss snickers and gives a toothy grin
[Strand] says: He returned from Darnassus without a steed.
Cogitatus laughs at you.
Garond claps excitedly.
Flit breathes a little easier.
Dahla grimaces. "I don't even want to know..."
Sarte smiles at you.
[Cogitatus] says: *Cheese* would have an easier time tamming *Mellor*.
Ashyne glances around the circle for Trinn, before finding her on the log.
[Cogitatus] says: *taming
[Strand] says: At this point, Mellor had figured out two things.
Arrish gives Veras a thin smile. "At the ends, though."
Soshumaru nods at Garond.
[Strand] says: First: he needed a /short/ steed.
[Strand] says: And second: he needed a steed that didn't eat.
Ashyne reaches up and taps Trinn on the shoulder to get her attention.
Trinn beckons Ashyne up onto the log.
[Strand] says: Didn't eat anything, just to be sure.
[Cogitatus] says: ...particularly not field mice.
[Flit] says: A mechanostrider!
Flit beams.
Garond lets out a hearty chuckle.
[Strand] says: This was a hard question indeed, and he was completely baffled --
Tragedy whispers to Aryss, "a gnomish chicken thing?"
Uwe cheers at Flit!
Aryss considers the prospect of Cheese-stuffed Field Mouse and Mushrooms
Shaun grins.
Strand pauses, and makes a bow to Flit. "Until he saw a gnomish engineer and her... pet."
[Fizzlepocket] says: ... A forsaken skeletal war horse?
[Fizzlepocket] says: ... Oh.
Ashyne shakes his head, and instead hands Trinn a folded peice of paper, and whispers.
Aryss laughs at Mechanical Squirrel.
Strand releases the squirrel, grinning.
Cogitatus laughs at Mechanical Squirrel.
Kraug boggles at Mechanical Squirrel.
Flit grins.
[Strand] says: Well, thought Mellor, that was about perfect.
Ashyne glances down at the note before turning and walking away.
[Strand] says: And without thinking much more than that, he made a run for the squirrel. Scurry, scurry, little field mouse!
Tragedy smiles at Mechanical Squirrel.
Trinn beams at Strand, tucking the note into her bodice.
[Cogitatus] says: Uh-oh.
[Strand] says: Oh, that was a chase. All up and down the streets, around the town, through the squares and alleys.
Flit stifles a giggle.
[Strand] says: But finally -- Mellor caught up with the squirrel, and /flung/ himself upwards, and found himself atop the squirrel!
Shaun looks concerned. "I hope it didn't have weaponary."
Trinn laughs.
Flit cheers at you.
[Kraug] says: [Orcish] Moguna Mu mu
Kraug lets out a hearty chuckle.
[Strand] says: And do you suppose that Mellor rode his steed home, proud in the light of the setting sun?
[Gilleon] says: nope
[Cogitatus] says: Past experience says....
Arrish murmurs, "Of course not."
[Garond] says: Not a chance.
[Cogitatus] says: "No."
[Flit] says: Considering the standard squirrel OS. . . no.
Alerac pulls an apple out of his pocket, considering throwing it at Strand if the answer is "no."
Kraug clearly states, NO.
[Strand] says: Alas, no.
[Saracy] says: Yes?
Garond chuckles, walnuts.
Alerac throws the apple at Strand.
[Saracy] says: oh..
Aryss mouths the words "Mouse and Squirrel" unsure of their significance
Fizzlepocket shrugs. "Walnuts™ can barely handle skittering and climbing..."
Arrish looks sharply at Alerac.
Strand takes an apple in the back of the head. "Ooof!"
Kraug eyes Fizzlepocket up and down.
Lothorial nods to Alerac.
Flit nods sadly at Fizzle.
Gilleon laughs.
[Fizzlepocket] says: Now, if it was Beer Nuts™.... maybe.
Garond laughs.
[Kraug] says: [Orcish] Kog'zela ogg ogg ro'th regas
Flit giggles at Fizzlepocket.
Lothorial looks at Alerac and motions to the rather large rock next to him.
Cogitatus puzzles at what the orc just said, but leaves the matter alone.
Nikian folds his thick arms across his chest as he leans back against the tree, smiling softly.
Kraug cheers at Great Goretusk!
Strand rubs the back of his head. "Well. The thing is, good gnome engineers program their squirrels to be obedient. So... Mellor was on the squirrel, but he couldn't control it. And the gnome was heading for the Burning Steppes."
Garond wispers to flit "Im heading to stormwind to bring Phillis here."
[Tragedy] says: oh no!
Demure gasps at Mechanical Squirrel.
[Cogitatus] says: Uh-oh.
[Strand] says: And Mellor returned a /good/ deal later. Rather scorched.
Aryss eyes the Rabbit, her pupils reflecting the red of the firelight
Flit salutes Garond with respect.
[Shaun] says: That's, eh, not so good.
Soshumaru waves at Flit.
[Cogitatus] says: No, it's not.
Soshumaru waves at Fizzlepocket.
[Strand] says: At this point, it was too late in the day for Mellor to continue his dream of horse ownership, so he made his way home, a little dejected.
[Tragedy] says: Roast mouse?
Tragedy watches Aryss.
[Kraug] says: [Orcish] Rath'is mog ogar raznos
[Uwe] says: Mmmmmm... rat kabobs.
[Demure] says: Maybe that's where the inspiration for those rat kabobs came from
Kraug is hungry!
[Flit] says: Poor Mellor. . . .
Cogitatus turns to Tragedy and quietly says, "Indeed, roast mouse. He's lucky he didn't have the frostsaber on him at the same time."
[Strand] says: When he arrived home, Mrs. Mellor was busily getting dinner ready.
Tragedy stifles her laughter at Cogitatus.
Aryss blinks, looking confused
[Strand] says: "How was your day?" she asked. "Oh..." he said.
[Strand] says: She was used to noises like that, so she just kept on going.
Tragedy greets Fulkrum warmly.
Tragedy beckons Fulkrum over.
[Strand] says: "I got us tickets to something special, dear. It's a new Deeprun Tram train! They say it's the fastest thing ever; faster even than a horse."
[Strand] says: Well, Mellor brightened up immediately.
Kraug begins to eat.
Fizzlepocket whispers to Flit... "When was the last time a squirrel obeyed anything in Walnuts?"
[Strand] says: And they had a nice dinner, and after the dinner, they travelled just as fast as Mellor'd ever wanted to.
Veras raises an eyebrow
[Cogitatus] says: Heh.
[Veras] says: If I were a mouse.... I wouldn't get within a mile of the tram.
Trinn beams at Strand.
Flit 's eyes get a very distant look as she calculates.
Cogitatus laughs at Veras.
[Uwe] says: Really with Monty the rat catcher there.
[Strand] says: And that is the story of how Mellor didn't get a horse, but still travelled to Ironwind as fast as anyone could ask.
[Strand] says: There are many Mellor stories, but that is the one I told tonight.
[Lothorial] says: Mellor got confised with the rats in the tram and was cooked into a rat kabob?
[Arrish] says: Mice are harder to bone.
[Gilleon] says: All is well that ends well.
Cogitatus claps excitedly for you.
Dahla grins at Strand, applauding. "Wonderful."
Strand grins, bright. "And I thank you for the listening."
Shaun claps excitedly for you.
Demure cheers at you.
You bow down graciously.
Maire claps excitedly for you.
Arahshiel applauds warmly for Strand.
Potar claps excitedly for you.
Sarte claps excitedly for you.
Meris smiles at Strand.
Flit claps excitedly for you.
Kraug nods.
Hallia claps excitedly for you.
Arrish applauds quietly to Strand.
Aryss smiles at you.
Trinn claps excitedly.
Gilleon claps excitedly for you.
[Veras] says: I guess thats what the ticket was for.
Veras claps excitedly for you.
Tragedy claps excitedly for you.
Alerac claps excitedly.
Uwe cheers at you.
Alrik claps excitedly for you.
Nikian claps lightly with a nod of his head,"Good story, Friend."
Jorii claps excitedly for you.
Kraug smiles at you.
Strand grins again. "Who's up next, then?"
Demure says quitely... "Be right back, Tragedy... my work beckons."
Sarte clears his throat
Cogitatus ponders going up next, but isn't really prepared.
[Sarte] says: might i be permitted to speak next?
Strand looks expectantly at Sartre. "Go right ahead."
[Sarte] says: thank you
Cogitatus turns his attention to Sartre.
Trinn leans over and nudges Alerac with her elbow.
[Sarte] says: greetings all...
[Draevyndar] says: hello
[Sarte] says: my name is Sarte. i'm new to these meetings.
Cogitatus nods at Sarte.
Alerac grumbles and gives Trinn an "I'm awake, I'm awake, piss off" hand gesture.
Tragedy greets Sarte with a hearty hello!
[Cogitatus] says: Welcome.
[Strand] says: Welcome, friend.
[Sarte] says: i wish to tell a story that's stuck with me... although the simple event was well over a week ago
Arrish settles her weight, watching Sarte.
Trinn ignores Al's hand gesture, and gives him an odd look.
Kraug makes some strange gestures.
[Sarte] says: although i tend to dwell on minor details... much to long. i offer this story as one of ...errm
[Sarte] says: hope and warning
Tragedy nods.
Sarte looks at the fire... to collect his thoughts
Trinn jumps off the log, gesturing at Alerac.
[Sarte] says: the other night, I had the great fortune to meet with my brother Keith. We met at one of the local taverns of Stormwind, and took seats at an empty table.
[Sarte] says: I had not seen my brother in some time. I know he's had hard times of late keeping a decent job. And although my travels don't aford me with much time for family. I do miss him greatly.
Trinn taps her foot.
Alerac grumbles and does another, rather complicated gesture, which explains he is quite comfortable on the log.
Nikian arches his back slightly in a stretch as he rolls his wide shoulders, jade eyes on Sarte.
[Sarte] says: saddly though. ...both being away for long periods of time. And naturally losing touch, and I suppose being a Priest. My visists with family normally take the form of counseling, than catching up.
Trinn leans against the log and gives Alerac a truly frightening glare.
Dahla glances over to Trinn and Alerac, and adds her own wave in to the logged hermit.
[Sarte] says: what plagued my brother... as he finished off his fourth ale. Was the lack of loyalty he has seen crop up in recent years.
Shaun grins wickedly at Alerac.
[Sarte] says: ...now granted, i was merely drinking tea. And he already had a fifth drink on the table. I wondered where this might lead. But love for my sibling bid me stay condemnation of his drinking...and bade him continue with his story.
Aryss watches Alerac out of the corner of her eye
Trinn frowns at Alerac. "Not good enough. Come on."
[Kraug] says: [Orcish] Golgonnashar
[Sarte] says: ...see, unlike many of us sitting here. dressed in all the fine regailia of adventure. my brother is a simple barman. He's worked odd jobs for the last few years but normally finds employ at one tavern or another for a season or two.
Lothorial grins wickedly at Kraug.
Alerac mutters "Aint goin nowhere, I aint."
[Sarte] says: and truth be told, he's probably seen more of these lands than I, simply by moving around. So on one hand he may know more of fellowship and hard times than any seated here.
Trinn narrows her eyes further. "Yes, yes you /are/."
[Sarte] says: but his outpouring on the nature of loyalty. and honor...i suppose you could say is what peaked my interest. the character of men is always a subject i seek to gain perspective on. And who better than from one who sees a different side than I
[Trinn] says: "Come on, then."
Alerac mutters "Fine, fine, fine. There, happy?"
[Kraug] says: [Orcish] Ruk'ka'ha
Kraug nods.
[Sarte] says: he recounted his reasons for leaving his last job. Which centered around the barkeep. His manager. Not standing up for him. When only a short time before. He had put himself on the line, to physically defend the man in a brawl.
Aryss grins wickedly at Alerac.
Hafdan eyes the Orc curiously
[Sarte] says: ...at the root was this simple betrayal. One man sticking up for another. Granted, probably over drunken foolishness and no great test of will or skill. But none the less a sacrifice. And decree of loyalty on my brother's part
[Sarte] says: and then... that same man. not sticking up for my brother over a common. lesser dispute at the bar. At which my brother felt betrayed. Petty to be sure. but enough. I mean, for a commoner. What is more important that loyalty amoungst friends.
[Sarte] says: And is the risk, a common person takes. To stand beside another in violence any less than we would take defending the realm against beast or evil. For while we risk harm. And shame, or any number of other things. He risked his very livelyhood.
[Sarte] says: My brother, as common as any other you pass in the street. In his mind, may a moral choice to stand up for his boss. In a fight. Which may be argued is more than merely defending someone with words. Was then, abandoned. by the same person.
Kraug makes some strange gestures.
[Sarte] says: and it is this that most imprinted on me. How aweful it must feel to make even the smallest of gestures of right and wrong. And be met with weakness of character. I pose this story as a warning.
Demure skins the meat off of the freshly killed rabbit.
[Sarte] says: for as we all fight. We fight for greater causes. The dwarves for their mountain homes, the Gnomes for their ruined city, and humans for their cities. What are we fighting for if we don't remain true.
[Sarte] says: and what does it say... when common people. trying to live right and just lives are met with apathy toward their deeds. What example can we offer.
Strand nods.
Cogitatus thinks about the story.
[Sarte] says: I say, we must make the effort to offer the best example to those we meet. Of kindness and understanding. Of righteouness and fairness. And remain steadfast in our resolve. As i pray my brother will. For while his was a simple tale.
Fizzlepocket stares off into space, quite famished.
[Sarte] says: i don't think it should be ignored. For the tests every commoner faces are surely the same we face. And i worry that someone like my brother might, next time be tempted not to act. To let things idily happen. To not do what is right.
Cogitatus kneels before Fizzlepocket.
Hafdan comtemplates his navel
[Sarte] says: i spoke to him as such...trying to make him feel that although he did right and was wronged. to do right is ultimately the best course
Demure feeds her snake some of the fresh rabbit meat.
Fizzlepocket looks at the pie, and pokes at it..
Kraug nods at Cogitatus.
Hallia listens intently to Sarte.
[Sarte] says: although not as dark as years past there is still a shadow on the land. and we all must strive to serve the path of the light as best we can.
Cogitatus nods at Kraug.
[Sarte] says: or else meet a worse fate. where even the simple fellowship amoung common people can not be counted on.
[Sarte] says: i left my brother that night... with these thoughts. and i pass them onto you all here.
Aryss gazes into the fire
[Sarte] says: try to remember that within each act. no matter how small or insignificant there lies the test of righteousness.
Cogitatus nods silently.
Kraug makes some strange gestures.
Hafdan nods at Sarte.
[Sarte] says: and while some of the banal tasks we face day in and out. don't warrant our courage or strength. It remains that there is a purpose. ...and i hope. a goal to be kindly to each other as we all struggle
[Sarte] says: mighty warrior... and drunken barkeep all.
Sarte ..concludes his story... wishing he had some tea
Sarte bows before Cogitatus.
Cogitatus claps excitedly for Sarte.
Maire nods in agreement.
Flit applauds at Sarte. Bravo!
Potar claps excitedly for Sarte.
A sly smirk spreads across Kraug's face.
[Potar] says: Very well spoken, friend.
[Sarte] says: thank you...
You clap excitedly for Sarte.
Hafdan applauds at Sarte. Bravo!
Jorii claps excitedly for Sarte.
Arahshiel claps excitedly for Sarte.
Maire claps excitedly for Sarte.
Dahla applauds at Sarte. Bravo!
Cogitatus has [Refreshing Spring Water], if Sarte wants it.
Shaun claps excitedly for Sarte.
Tragedy hands Sartre some tea.
Hallia applauds Sarte, thanking him
Meris smiles at Sartre.
Sarte smiles at Tragedy.
Gilleon claps excitedly for Sarte.
[Faruq] says: Bravo.
[Strand] says: Thank you, sir. Well spoken.
[Kraug] says: [Orcish] Kaz zugas g dogg zugas
[Hallia] says: Thank you Sarte
Uwe hugs Kraug.
Kraug tells Uwe NO. Not going to happen.
[Sarte] says: my pleasure... i tend to ramble. i hope no one dozed off. but thank you
Cogitatus laughs at Sarte.
Uwe chuckles at Kraug.
Kraug shrugs. Who knows?
[Cogitatus] says: Hardly, sir.
Aryss blinks and shakes her head, as if startled
[Strand] says: Who'd like to speak next?
Garond beckons Phillis over.
[Kraug] says: [Orcish] Moth'aga ha gesh'nuka raznos
[Cogitatus] says: Then again, it is a pleasant night, so I wouldn't think it your fault.
Sarte smiles.
Meris glances over her shoulder at Faruq and Ivan.
Phillis stares Kraug down.
Faruq stands up, and looks around.
Flit waves at Phillis.
Kraug eyes Phillis up and down.
Strand looks to Faruq.
Kraug blows Phillis a kiss.
Ivan nods to Meris.
Flit smiles at Phillis.
Garond motions to the ground next to him.
Phillis whispers "Hi guys"
[Faruq] says: I would not be averse to speaking, if no one else wishes to.
Kraug smirks slyly at Garond.
[Strand] says: Please do.
Cogitatus turns his attention to Faruq.
Flit whispers, "Glad you made it."
Ivan watches the man step forward.
[Kraug] says: [Orcish] Gi no'bu Ragath'a
Faruq looks around, then steps forwards.
[Faruq] says: There was a boy once.
Tragedy fixes her tousled hair.
Demure removes the wrinkles from her shirt.
Tragedy smiles shyly at Demure.
[Trinn] says: No one better threaten this goretusk.
Demure blushes at Tragedy.
Phillis gulps
Arahshiel stretches a little, taking a drink of water as she listens.
Meris shoots a concerned look to Alerac.
Shaun scratches his chin, glancing at Trinn.
[Faruq] says: He grew up in Booty Bay, a street urchin in a dangerous city. He never knew his mother or his father, just the people he lived with, other urchins like himself.
Garond shoos Kraug away. Be gone pest!
Kraug comforts Garond.
Garond glares angrily at Kraug.
Kraug shrugs at Garond. Who knows?
Kraug listens intently to Faruq.
Strand reaches over and takes Trinn's hand, listening to Faruq.
[Faruq] says: They were all working for a man named Fogg, who treated them cruelly, and had them beg and steal to enrich his pockets.
Flit frowns.
Strand looks up at the log.
Kraug gently pats Flit.
Flit smiles at Kraug.
[Faruq] says: So, when he was 13 years or so old, the boy they called Snip ran away, far to the north, where he heard there were better counties, lands with the name of Azeroth and Lordaeron.
Arrish tilts her head, listening to Faruq.
Nikian quirks a brow slightly at Faruq's story, leaning against the tree listening intently.
Phillis smiles at Faruq.
[Faruq] says: When he arrived there, he took a name from a story he heard once from a traveller, that of a man who called the heavens to his side. He figured he needed all the help he could get.
Cogitatus laughs at Faruq.
Phillis stares Cogitatus down.
Kraug winks slyly at Phillis.
Cogitatus notices Phillis, then looks apologetic, but remains silent.
Phillis looks uncomfortably at Kraugh and smiles awkwardly
Kraug quietly snickers to himself.
[Faruq] says: He joined the Silver Hand as soon as he could, and although he was never as skilled as such giants as Lothar, Turalyon, Uther or Arthas, he was skilled, and he had enough wisdom on his side that he was asked his opinion often.
[Faruq] says: And when the wars came, he fought as he had to.
Nikian pulls his knees up to his chest, his arms draping over them as he drops his chin down to rest it on his crossed forearms.
[Faruq] says: And when the Orcs were at last driven from his land, or put into encampments, he thought all was right with the world.
Garond smiles, glad someone else knows a bit about history.
[Faruq] says: Then he started to hear stories. Rumors about the camps. He visited one, finally, on a wet spring day.
Tragedy wonders how old Kraug is, and how intimately he knows this history.
Strand nudges Dahla.
Kraug chuckles at Fizzlepocket.
Trinn nods. "You are /all/ welcome to join me, post-chat."
Dahla gives Strand an odd look, shaking her head.
Trinn beams at Veras before herding him off.
Veras shrugs and stands
[Veras] says: Be back soon.
Kraug makes some strange gestures.
Tragedy eyes Veras up and down.
[Faruq] says: He saw how they were treated. And he saw how they were broken. And he wept for them, that day. From then on, he advocated working to help the Orcs, not just leaving them in camps to die.
Arrish ponders Kraug's actions.
Trinn nods at Veras, pointing toward the other side of the lake.
Tragedy nods.
Aryss stares into the fire, her eyes glazing over slowly
Maire looks down, a single tear falling from a keen red eye.
[Faruq] says: He travelled a good deal, and then heard of an Orc rallying the others to be free. He largely acted as if he hadn't heard a thing, but secretly he smiled.
Phillis frowns with disappointment at Maire.
[Faruq] says: Then, one day, he heard a rumor. Of a plague to the north.
Tragedy blinks at Aryss.
Tragedy pokes Aryss. Hey!
[Faruq] says: He was, at the time, mostly ferrying between Southshore and Stormwind Keep.
[Kraug] says: [Orcish] Ogerin'naz
Cogitatus wishes he had someone who could translate orcish.
[Faruq] says: But he tried to keep up on the news. He heard of Arthas dismissal of Uther, then heard nothing of him.
[Faruq] says: He was not in Lordaeron for Arthas' homecoming. He had wanted to be there, but other matters kept him.
Kraug hugs Great Goretusk.
[Faruq] says: He heard the stories, but did not believe them until he saw Arthas with his own eyes.
[Faruq] says: He fled then, to his shame.
Aryss blinks
Maire pets the large boar as it roots around.
Aryss looks at Tragedy "Hmm?"
Tragedy looks worriedly over at Aryss.
Phillis shivers in her boots. Chilling!
Phillis smiles at the warmth of the fire
[Faruq] says: He had lost his faith. If Arthas, who was a noble, if sharp, man, could fall, despite being a Paladin? What good was the Light to anyone? It had failed the two greatest Paladins left, how could it help him?
Aryss gently pats Crimson Snake.
Demure smugly smiles.
[Faruq] says: So he stayed in wild places, dreaming dark dreams.
[Faruq] says: Then, in one dream, he had a revelation.
[Faruq] says: In his dream, he saw a being. Of what color he could not recall, for at times it seemed one color, at times another, at times all colors, and at times no color he had seen before.
[Faruq] says: It told him a secret. The secret was this: It is not the deity, or philosophy, or spirits, which lend their strength to divine magic.
Meris nods to Arahshiel.
Kraug cuddles up against Flit.
Flit blinks at Kraug.
Tragedy gasps, "Blasphemous, I'm sure."
Phillis stares Kraug down.
[Faruq] says: It was rather the strength of one's belief in those deities, or philosophies, or spirits.
[Faruq] says: That is not to say that deities or spirits do not exist, and do not give aid.
Hallia raises an eyebrow
Aryss chuckles, her eyes catching the firelight
Tragedy blinks at Aryss.
Aryss seems lost in thought
Sarte smiles at Great Goretusk.
[Faruq] says: That is to say that most of the power of their devotees comes from within. And the man wondered at this, and said, if that was true, then the limitations of religions are thus.
[Faruq] says: Any religion that could not account for all the differing divine beliefs was cutting off a part of the divine.
Flit looks a little pleadingly at Saracy to make the large green fellow not sit so close.
Kraug comforts Flit.
Garond frowns with disappointment at Kraug.
[Faruq] says: And so, when he woke up, he devised a new religion, and at its center, he placed the figure from his dream. And he went out, to see if the world was yet ready for this concept.
Faruq bows down graciously.
Hallia raises both eyebrows.
Maire nods in respect to Faruq.
Kraug makes some strange gestures.
Nebulous perks up her ears
Meris smiles at Faruq.
Flit claps excitedly for Faruq.
Cogitatus claps excitedly for Faruq.
Lothorial claps excitedly for Faruq.
Garond claps excitedly.
Arahshiel claps excitedly for Faruq.
[Faruq] says: Thank you.
Shaun applauds at Faruq. Bravo!
Dahla applauds at Faruq. Bravo!
Kraug nods at Faruq.
Jorii claps excitedly for Faruq.
Demure claps excitedly for Faruq.
Phillis applauds at Faruq. Bravo!
Fulkrum claps excitedly.
Gilleon claps excitedly.
Santhaya claps excitedly.
Nebulous claps excitedly.
Kaloia claps excitedly.
[Cogitatus] says: I must be off to hone my skills before I retire for the night.
Garond claps excitedly.
Ivan looks to the man as he sits again and smiles.
[Phillis] says: What a nice story
[Cogitatus] says: Would anyone liike food ro drink before I leave?
[Strand] says: Good night, Cogitatus.
Meris rubs her eyes tiredly.
Dahla grins back at Thienal. "Chummer."
Tragedy waves at Cogitatus.
[Jorii] says: i will be leaving as well -- so i say good night to you all

[Arrish] yells: Meri!
[Thienal] says: Why everyone do standing now?
[Flit] says: I'm okay, I guess. How 'bout you?
Potar looks to the ground briefly, then fastens his cape to his tabard.
[Meris] says: Ah. After all that time sitting...
[Phillis] says: Very good storytelling is fun isnt it?
[Alerac] says: Everyone stands now because our little gatherin' is over, mate.
Arahshiel nods at Meris.
[Flit] says: 'S fun to listen, anyway.

[Saracy] says: Nice to meet you, also.
[Thienal] says: Not understanding. Please have excuse me.
Fulkrum waves at Tragedy.
Alerac grumbles when he doesn't FIND anything.
Meris eyes the Hounds briefly, committing them to memory. "Looks like a regular gathering spot for law enforcement tonight'
Arahshiel follows Meris' gaze.
[Faruq] says: They enjoy stories too.
Gilleon gazes back into the fire.
[Meris] says: Course, I just never saw so many out of uniform.
[Saracy] says: And you never know when there might be trouble..
Dahla shakes her head, frowning. "You don't usually make so little sense, Strand."
Saracy cackles maniacally at the situation.
Phillis giggles at Saracy.
[Meris] says: I'm a bit tired... probably going to head back into town shortly
Arahshiel sighs. "Ah. What to do."
Thienal stands complacently, smiling a little bit and looking cheerfully confused with everything going on.
[Arahshiel] says: Yes. That was my plan as well.
[Flit] says: Saracy's gonna give me a ride to Ironforge. Anyone need a lift?
[Meris] says: Maybe I can wake myself up, maybe not.
[Phillis] says: No thank you
[Arahshiel] says: One can hope. Not that a good sleep ever hurt anyone.
