[Dagdara] says: Ah I see, well it can't be too long then!
You wave at Ingarath.
Ingarath grins. "Hello there, Meris."
[Meris] says: Well. We are truly the first, tonight.
Ingarath nods slowly.
Dagdara bows down graciously.
Ingarath bows before Dagdara.
You smile at Dagdara.
[Ingarath] says: Greetings.
Ingarath waves at Tweena.
[Meris] says: Are you here for a purpose?
Tweena curtsies before Ingarath.
[Kirak] says: Hello all
Ingarath smiles at Kirak.
[Kirak] says: Am I interrupting anything?
Meris nods to Kirak.
[Ingarath] says: Welcome.
[Meris] says: Not yet, no.
[Dagdara] says: Aye, a good friend told me of a gathering or some such out here this evening
Ingarath nods. "A story night."
[Kirak] says: Oh?
[Meris] says: Yes, it happens every Thursday, but has a slightly different crowd each time.
[Tweena] says: That's what I heard as well.
[Dagdara] says: Well this Thursday you have a dwarf!
[Meris] says: And usually... everyone arrives a little late.
[Kirak] says: Have you brought stories from the battlefields?
Ingarath nods at Meris.
[Ingarath] says: No, I don't go in for such things.
Ingarath laughs at Kirak.
Dagdara waves at Arahshiel.
Kirak smiles.
Arahshiel waves at Dagdara.
Meris looks to Kirak. "Some may have... I can't tell what is planned yet."
Arahshiel greets everyone warmly.
Meris half bows to Arahshiel.
Ingarath looks back to Meris. "Do we ever know?"
Tweena waves at Arahshiel.
Dagdara sighs at Panda Cub.
[Meris] says: How are you tonight, Arah?
Arahshiel bows to Meris with a smile.
[Arahshiel] says: I am well enough. And you?
[Ingarath] says: Hm...I've still got it, I suppose.
[Kirak] says: Is it necessary to slay the harmless creatures of these lands?
Meris flashes Arahshiel a wry smile. "Hard to say. One mood is lifted, another darkened. But... it's better overall."
Kirak smiles.
[Meris] says: Well, I am just going to wait patiently for others for a bit.
Arahshiel nods uncertainly.
[Ingarath] says: So, Meris.
Meris looks to Ingarath.
[Ingarath] says: How have you been?
Meris sort of shrugs. "That's always a loaded question, Ing."
[Ingarath] says: Not really. Perhaps your life is simply too complicated.
[Meris] says: But, alright. I had some nice eggs this morning.
Ingarath smiles at you.
[Meris] says: I had a good night's sleep.
[Meris] says: I imbibed a rather... unusual liquor last night.
Ingarath raises an eyebrow.
[Meris] says: Made me *very* relaxed.
[Ingarath] says: Interesting....
[Arahshiel] says: Really?
Meris leans back on one of her hands.
[Meris] says: It's just a stress reliever of a sort. Helped me get things out in the open.
Meris smirks slyly at Ingarath.
[Arahshiel] says: Sounds wonderful.
Arahshiel sighs.
[Meris] says: Well. Perhaps. Can be dangerous though.
[Arahshiel] says: Sometimes great things are worth a risk.
[Meris] says: Ahh... define "great things" Arah.
[Meris] says: Pleasure perhaps... may not be worth such risks.
[Arahshiel] says: Well now, I cannot define what that may mean to you.
[Arahshiel] says: Well, it might.
Silanthos greets everyone warmly.
Arahshiel seems to recognize the footsteps.
Arahshiel greets Silanthos warmly.
Ingarath greets Silanthos warmly.
[Meris] says: Evening, Silanthos.
Silanthos smiles at Arahshiel.
[Silanthos] says: Good evening, Meris.
Arahshiel shifts awkwardly.
Arahshiel greets Mistwalker warmly.
Arahshiel settles down next to Silanthos.
[Silanthos] says: What a day....
[Meris] says: How have things been, Sil?
[Silanthos] says: Rather busy, actually
Ingarath waves at Wren.
Wren greets Ingarath warmly.
[Silanthos] says: I just mastered my latest tiers for cooking and leatherworking
Arahshiel looks like she's still pondering Meris' question.
[Dagdara] says: My apologies if I missed anything, I must have nodded off for a moment...
Wren greets everyone with a hearty hello!
Dagdara blushes.
Arahshiel waves at Wren.
Meris nods to Wren.
[Meris] says: No, still too early.
[Wren] says: Good Evening all
Tweena smiles shyly
[Dagdara] says: Honor to meet you!
Wren smiles at Dagdara.
[Meris] says: Oh, right. Introductions?
Ingarath smiles. "Hello. I am Ingarath."
Arahshiel stretches and mumbles something about not being able to get comfortable.
Meris looks to Arahshiel. "Ants?"
Silanthos looks to Arahshiel.
Arahshiel laughs a little. "No. Definitely not ants."
[Meris] says: Well, that was short and sweet, Ing. I guess I should say I'm Meris, and the more ponderous of the hosts of this event.
[Silanthos] says: Ponderous......heh
[Dagdara] says: I'm Dagdara, you can call me Dag, everyone else does!
Ingarath smiles at Meris.
[Meris] says: Well met then, Dag.
Ingarath nods at Dagdara. "Greetings, Dag."
Arahshiel smiles at Dagdara.
[Silanthos] says: I am Silanthos. And this is Mistwalker.
Arahshiel hugs Mistwalker.
[Silanthos] says: Who just loves the attention.
Ingarath smiles. "Welcome to you, Silanthos."
[Tweena] says: I'm Tweena. My parents named me Katrina, they were great admirers of human names... But my little brother called me Tweena, so that's what I call myself now.
[Meris] says: You should let him lose on the pigs.
Arahshiel scratches Mistwalker behind the ears.
Ingarath grins wickedly at Tweena.
[Silanthos] says: Hmm.....an excellent idea...
[Wren] says: And I am Wren, good to see everyone tonite, it's been a while
Wren smiles at Tweena.
[Ingarath] says: Yes it has, Wren! Good to see you.
[Silanthos] says: Mistwalker, a'sh.
[Meris] says: Allo again Wren... where's Devi and Natallis been hiding?
[Dagdara] says: Well that certainly solves the pig issue
Dagdara laughs.
Arahshiel asks Silanthos if Mistwalker ever gets tired.
[Wren] says: Ah. Devi has been stuck in the library in Stormwind, she's trying to unravel some problem or other.
[Silanthos] says: Occasionally. Big cat sleeps more than me...
[Meris] says: Never owned a cat.
[Wren] says: And Natallis? She was running about the other day, could be she'll make an appearance tonite
[Meris] says: I think we all miss Slynn's energy.
Silanthos gently pats Mistwalker.
Ingarath nods.
Ingarath is hungry. Maybe Panda Cub has some food...
Silanthos whispers to Mistwalker "Good boy."
[Wren] says: I'll have to make an effort to have them all return sometime soon
[Meris] says: Well, I apologize. We had a good showing last week. This is the smallest crowd I've seen for 8:30.
[Dagdara] says: Oh dont mind this furball next to me, his name is Tim, and he’s a lazy bum
Ingarath mumbles, "Mmm....peaches."
[Silanthos] says: Shall I start a fire?
[Ingarath] says: Yes, please.
[Meris] says: I have to start haranguing people again.
Arahshiel smiles at the sleeping panda.
Tweena smiles at Dagdara.
[Silanthos] says: I apologize if this is off-center
[Dagdara] says: Aiii hot
[Wren] says: We may have a few more Explorers joining us, if a bit later on.
Arahshiel whispers to Silanthos: "Good boy."
[Ingarath] says: Perhaps they have all forgotten us, Meris.
Ingarath grins.
Silanthos growls menacingly at Arahshiel.
Arahshiel waits for the reaction with sparkling eyes.
[Meris] says: Eh. Or sleeping it off somewhere.
Tweena blushes.
[Meris] says: Course... after my heavy dreaming last night... I could still be asleep.
Ingarath looks at Meris curiously.
[Arahshiel] says: Good ones, I hope, Meris.
[Silanthos] says: Mmm.....lucid dreaming...
[Arahshiel] says: Of course... were they really dreams?
Silanthos mutters "I need a new shirt..."
Meris sighs outwardly. "Not lucid, I am afraid... and yes... some were very good. Some not so. But that i the course of things."
Arahshiel asks Silanthos if he has any tips for lucid dreams. Then she touches her lip self consciously.
[Ingarath] says: No, I hope not lucid, Meris. Otherwise I'd need to check your pulse.
Ingarath smirks slyly at you.
[Meris] says: Lucid? If I am still dreaming now -- then it is certainly not lucid.
[Silanthos] says: I always try to do or think something I wish to dream about just before I go to sleep.
[Meris] says: because I don't *think* I am dreaming.
Arahshiel tells Silanthos: "I could make you a shirt, but I'm afraid my tailoring is somewhat limited."
Silanthos eyes Arahshiel's lip with a small smile.
[Meris] says: How can you really tell anyway?
Ingarath nods.
[Wren] says: whether this is real or a dream? You can't really..it's all what you choose to believe.
[Meris] says: Hmm... not very comforting Wren.
Ingarath smiles at Wren.
Dagdara pours a bit of wine into a small bowl and sets it in front of her panda
[Tweena] says: Sometimes you know it's not a dream because you couldn't imagine something so horrifying by yourself.
[Ingarath] says: The difference is quite irrelevant...since you can't do much about it. So just be, and enjoy that.
[Wren] says: Depends on what you're choosing to believe I suppose Meris
Wren smiles
[Ingarath] says: Well, do you suppose we should get started...?
[Meris] says: Errr... Tweena? I'd argue that point, really. But it's still too light out.
[Meris] says: As far as getting started.. do you know of any others arriving?
[Ingarath] says: No.
[Wren] says: Devi may arrive, but later..not sure when, she hasn't been paying much attention to time lately
[Meris] says: Hmm. Whatever happened to all the Enders, pray tell?
[Meris] says: They used to fill out the ranks nicely.
Dagdara glares angrily at Great Goretusk.
Ingarath raises an eyebrow. "I don't know....why would I? I've been in Kalimdor for weeks."
Meris gestures to all the empty space.
[Silanthos] says: I wish my sister were here, she's the one who informed me of this place.
[Meris] says: True, Ing, but I thought you kept in touch through Dahla.
[Ingarath] says: I've not heard from her in some time, to be honest.
[Ingarath] says: But, where I've been, I doubt I'd reliably receive mail anyways.
Dagdara gently pats Panda Cub.
[Meris] says: Tanaris, Ingarath? Or farther out?
[Ingarath] says: Quite a bit of the desert, actually. Odds and ends for some curious goblin acquaintances.
[Silanthos] says: Gadgetzan?
[Meris] says: I'd almost feel a bit bad if you had something new to share, and such a small audience tonight.
[Ingarath] says: Oh, it's probably better anyways...it's incredibly cryptic, and I doubt it's worthwhile to boot.
Ingarath nods at Silanthos. "And thereabouts, yes."
[Meris] says: Sandy climes aren't that hospitable for someone in a dress. The sand tends to get into unpleasant places.
[Silanthos] says: I've heard tales...I hope to go there someday soon.
[Ingarath] says: Ah, Alerac.
Silanthos laughs at you.
Wren greets Alerac with a hearty hello!
Ingarath waves at Alerac.
Dagdara bows before Alerac.
[Alerac] says: Just in time, it seems..
Silanthos greets Alerac warmly.
Arahshiel smiles at Alerac.
Meris looks over to Alerac and smiles warmly.
[Wren] says: Aye, our fire went out. Excellent timing on your part though.
Ingarath looks at Alerac approvingly. "That's quite a fine suit!"
[Alerac] says: I'm afraid I can't stay long. Yup, made it myself.
Alerac nods.
[Silanthos] says: Such a fine suit!
Meris looks around to everyone.
Dagdara mumbles to Tweena "Humans wear the strangest things..."
[Alerac] says: Right...erm..
Tweena nods knowingly
[Alerac] says: Nice an..uh..quiet.
Poynard has joined the guild.
[Meris] says: ... I know. Too quiet, in a sense.
Ingarath shrugs at Alerac. Who knows?
[Silanthos] says: We could always play catch...
[Ingarath] says: ...Is this the part where the monster jumps out and eats us?
[Dagdara] says: Too quiet? Does that mean the burning legion is going to appear from nowhere and attack us?
[Arahshiel] says: That's always the interesting part.
Ingarath grins.
[Meris] says: What would we be catching?
Dagdara chuckles at Ingarath.
[Silanthos] says: My latest invention!
[Silanthos] says: A [Heavy Leather Ball]!
[Alerac] says: ...I could dance, if you want.
[Silanthos] says: Well...I can't take credit for it......
[Wren] says: Ah. When you said invention I thought you meant a bomb, would have been a bit of a risky game
[Silanthos] says: Heh
[Alerac] says: An yet, far more fun, eh?
[Tweena] says: Ooh, be careful, Alerac, the pig might bled on you!
[Wren] says: Well, exciting at the very least
[Alerac] says: Bah. Nothin ruins the suit.
[Meris] says: I think Al's more worried about the cat biting him.
[Alerac] says: Bye!
[Silanthos] says: ...
Dagdara gasps.
[Silanthos] says: Where did he...
[Meris] says: Well... that didn't last.
Ingarath blinks. "That's a nifty trick."
[Silanthos] says: How?
Meris heaves a sigh.
[Meris] says: Who knows.
Dagdara glances to the sky
[Ingarath] says: Well, this is a bit odd, to tell you the truth.
[Ingarath] says: I've been doing this for a very long time and I don't think it's ever been this empty...
Dagdara gently pats Rafela.
Silanthos shrugs. Who knows?
Ingarath looks to Meris.
[Meris] says: The small crowd? As I suspect... everyone is off doing training exercises.
[Dagdara] says: Good work...Now go find some mice before you flap Tweena's head off
[Ingarath] says: You're probably right.
Tweena looks up. ummm?
[Silanthos] says: We don't need a big to-do
Wren nods
Silanthos looks over at Arahshiel.
[Wren] says: If my guild is any indication you're most likely right Meris
[Meris] says: We can discuss philosophy instead, if so desired. Or recipes.
Dagdara looks at you with a confused look.
[Ingarath] says: It's up to you, I'm more than happy to read what I have.
[Meris] says: Or, Ingarath can regale us with an older tale.
[Wren] says: Well I have a story I can tell I just never have because it's rather long and I didn't want to take away time from others
[Silanthos] says: I've got a little something.
Ingarath nods. "Or that too."
[Silanthos] says: And I do mean little.
[Meris] says: But Ing.. if you read something new, you should try to repeat it next time when there is a crowd.
Arahshiel bonks Silanthos on the noggin. Doh!
[Silanthos] says: Ach!
[Ingarath] says: Well, that can certainly be arranged, Meris.
[Silanthos] says: What was that for?
Silanthos rubs his head.
Meris looks to Wren. "Long may be good now..."
Arahshiel looks at Silanthos with mock severity. "You know what that was for...."
[Dagdara] says: Tell your story Wren, I would be honored to listen!
Wren smiles
Ingarath nods. "I'd like to hear it too, Wren."
Arahshiel looks to Wren.
[Wren] says: Ok then
[Silanthos] says: I meant something else...
Silanthos sticks his tongue out at Arahshiel
[Wren] says: This was told to me...long ago. I hope I do it justice
Silanthos listens intently to Wren.
Dagdara bows before Kahlian.
Wren rifles through her bag, pulling out an old notebook
Silanthos greets Kahlian warmly.
Kahlian smiles.
[Wren] says: It'll just be a moment while I find it..
Meris notices Kahlian and waves to her.
Kahlian smiles waving back at Meris.
Silanthos greets Jaema warmly.
Meris half waves to Jaena
Dagdara bows before Jaema.
Ingarath waves at Jaema.
Jaema nods to the group
Arahshiel waves at Jaema.
[Meris] says: Greetings Kahlian... but you're new...
Meris points across the way to Jaena.
Dagdara smiles at Jaema.
[Kahlian] says: First time here, I heard you talking about it a few weeks ago thought I would show up.
[Meris] says: Small turnout tonite, sadly.
[Ingarath] says: Welcome, Kahlian.
[Kahlian] says: Nay, my guild is coming.
[Meris] says: Smallest we've ever had I think!
[Kahlian] says: Thank you.
Arahshiel shifts again, and then looks toward the sky.
[Meris] says: Wren is shuffling through her bags for her story I think..
Meris glances over at Wren
[Kahlian] says: Ahh, well Sethmont should be here in a bit, along with a few others.
[Wren] says: My apologies
[Meris] says: Sethmont? Name sounds familiar.
Wren pages through the notebook, finding the story she's searching for
[Wren] says: Ah here we are
[Wren] says: Thank you for being patient
Wren smiles
Wren looks down and begins to read
Kahlian smiles.
Dagdara bows before Kurlann.
Kurlann smiles at Dagdara.
[Wren] says: In the far north, near the sea lived a girl named Isabeau, and she was fair.
[Wren] says: Her hair was bright as new minted gold and her eyes were as dark blue as the sea.
[Wren] says: She spoke with a voice that was clear and low
[Wren] says: All the young men in the kingdom loved her, gardener and guardsman alike.
[Wren] says: They loved her for her gentle nature, her lovely face and her fine form
[Wren] says: But no one loved her more than the king's son.
[Wren] says: All his boyhood he had loved Isabeau; he had always looked beyond her face and gentle form, loving her for her spirit and for the fire that lay beneath the skin.
[Wren] says: One hard winter, when Isabeau was fourteen, her mother took sick,
[Wren] says: an illness that ravaged her poor body and brought her great suffering
[Wren] says: Isabeau and her father tended her day and night
[Wren] says: and every day and every night of her illness a great snowy white owl could be seen, perched at the window of the queen's chamber
[Wren] says: Some whispered that it was the Queen's soul waiting to be freed from her body
[Wren] says: Other's whispered that it was her guardian
[Wren] says: But none thought to chase it away
Sethmont greets everyone with a hearty hello!
Wren turns the page and continues reading
Dagdara bows before Sethmont.
Silanthos greets Sethmont warmly.
Sethmont waves at Dagdara.
Kurlann waves at Sethmont.
Sethmont waves at Kurlann.
Arahshiel greets Sethmont warmly.
Meris nods to Sethmont.
Sethmont smiles at you.
Sethmont hugs Kahlian.
[Wren] says: Isabeau's mother died at last, when winter had a hold on both the land and their hearts, but the great white owl remained, and could be seen at night
Kahlian smiles snuggling up to Sethmont as she listens.
[Wren] says: riding the wind above the waves
[Wren] says: Isabeau's father married again in the summer, all too hastily because he needed to believe in life again.
[Wren] says: The woman he wed, was a witch, her magic as deep as the waters of the ocean
Kurlann gasps.
[Wren] says: She was jealous of youth; she was jealous of beauty;
[Wren] says: she was jealous of Isabeau.
Sethmont puts his arm around Kahlian and listens intensively enjoying the story
Meris listens intently to Wren.
[Wren] says: Day after day she gazed into the hanging ball of glass that twisted in her window
[Wren] says: waiting to see what picture the ball would show her
[Wren] says: a picture that would spell the fate she asked of it
[Wren] says: Isabeau missed her mother dreadfully
[Wren] says: She had terrible dreams at night of fire and blood
Silanthos settles back next to Arahshiel
[Wren] says: So she tried to please her father's new wife
[Wren] says: Giving to her everything she wished she could give to her mother
Poynard leans on Spindlecog's shoulder, his cane in his other hand.
[Wren] says: But nothing Isabeau did pleased the woman
Kahlian frowns shaking her head at the thought.
Kurlann frowns.
Meris notices Poynard and Spindle from afar, nodding to them both in greeting.
[Wren] says: and at last the stepmother barred Isabeau from her rooms, with a soft smile that disguised her true heart
Sethmont sighs and knows how that is and rubs Kahlian's shoulder smiling and still listening
Dagdara bows before Poynard.
Jaema frowns
Poynard nods to Meris in greeting.
[Wren] says: and Isabeau left, feeling as if she had buried her mother and her life in the same box
Tweena smiles at Spindlecog.
Sethmont frowns.
[Silanthos] says: Poor thing...
[Wren] says: But the witch did not mind the hurt she had given,
Spindlecog sighs and holds onto Poynard’s hand.
Arahshiel seems transfixed by the fire as she listens.
Kahlian frowns scooting closer to Sethmont.
[Wren] says: Just as she did every night, she consulted the hanging glass ball
Sethmont welcomes Poynard.
Sethmont greets Spindlecog warmly.
[Wren] says: speaking to it in the hushed tones of a conspirator
[Wren] says: But because she did not see an answer in the glass, the witch left Isabeau alone
Wren pauses and take a sip of her drink
Sethmont lays his sword on the grass and listens hugging Kahlian
[Kurlann] says: (excuse me a few moments)
Wren looks down to the story and continues
Kurlann falls asleep. Zzzzzzz.
[Wren] says: One night, when the full moon shone through the window of the witch's tower
[Wren] says: a small frightened lizard climbed down the chain and across the face of the glass ball
[Wren] says: In the room of shadows, he seemed a part of the picture in the glass
Poynard grunts a bit, patting Spindlecog on the shoulder.
[Poynard] says: The pain is amazing. Help me sit.
[Wren] says: The witch read the message there- for magic has it's own strange alphabet- and she laughed aloud ...hic!
Spindlecog wraps his arm around Poynard’s waist, attempting to help him down.
[Wren] says: Perched silently outside her window, unnoticed, a white owl looked on as the witch took the little lizard by the tail
Poynard nods to Spindlecog and settles down on the ground.
[Wren] says: and flung it out the window onto the stones below
[Wren] says: then, guided by moonlight, she made her way down the cliffs.
[Wren] says: There she gathered stones smoothed by the waves and dark moss that clung to the rocks.
[Wren] says: Inland she gathered bunches of stinging nettles, their touch turning her hands raw and red.
Sethmont smiles and listens enjoying the story
[Wren] says: It was late into the night when she made her way back to the house
[Wren] says: and all the servants were fast asleep. But Isabeau, troubled by dreams, was downstairs, awake.
[Wren] says: She opened the door to the witch.
Kahlian rests a hand on the ground leaning on it with her feet to one side as she gazes into the fire.
[Wren] says: "My new dear mother!" cried Isabeau in alarm. "Your gown is wet and trailing mud, your eyes are red and worn Is anything the matter?"
[Wren] says: The witch smiled coldly, "Come up to my room, child, and I will show you what I have here in my apron."
[Wren] says: They were the first kind words she had spoken and Isabeau was grateful
Reynald smiles at Jaema.
Sethmont shakes Kahlian a little scaring her and laughs a tiny bit hugging her again
Dagdara bows before Reynald.
[Wren] says: "I will be up at once," she said "Though I must first close and bar the door"
A sly smirk spreads across Kahlian's face.
Reynald bows down graciously.
Arahshiel smiles gently at Silanthos.
Silanthos greets Reynald warmly.
Jaema smiles at Reynald.
Reynald waves at Silanthos.
[Wren] says: Turning away with a cold smile, the witch continued up the stairs leaving Isabeau to the dark night and the wind streaming through the open door
Poynard digs in to his bag and pulls out a small cage, releasing his kitty.
[Wren] says: As Isabeau turned to close the door, a great white owl appeared like a ghost from the shadows, flying at her in a flurry of snowy feathers.
[Wren] says: Startled, Isabeau closed the door, shoving the owl back out into the moonlit night
[Wren] says: but not before the owl's talons left a fine red line across her arm
[Wren] says: Shaking, Isabeau barred the door and made her way to her stepmother's room
[Wren] says: In the tower room, Isabeau looked about in surprise
Reynald nods at Dagdara.
[Wren] says: It was no longer the bright, cheery room her mother had loved.
[Wren] says: Now it was a place of dark magics
[Wren] says: the great wooden table held beakers, bowls and books;
[Wren] says: herbs dried from hooks in the wooden beams
[Wren] says: and, though it was midsummer's eve, a fire blazed in the hearth, with a black cauldron at the boil
[Wren] says: "Come into the light child" the witch said, pointing towards the center of the room
[Wren] says: "stand where I can better see your lovely face"
[Wren] says: Unsuspecting, Isabeau did as her stepmother asked and turning her face from the window, where the last lines of night were just stretching into dawn, stepped into the center of the room, into a ring of small smooth stones.
Kahlian squeezes Sethmont's hand.
[Wren] says: Curious, Isabeau turned to ask her stepmother the purpose of the ring
[Wren] says: but it was too late
Sethmont smiles and kisses Kahlian's hand
[Wren] says: Isabeau could no longer move at all
Jaema frowns
[Wren] says: Flinging the nettles and moss at Isabeau's feet, the witch began to chant
Kahlian gasps holding tight to his hand gazing over at Wren.
Wren pauses to turn the page
Sethmont holds Kahlian close and listens
[Wren] says: A river of fire suddenly ran through Isabeau's veins
Reynald 's brows darken
Sethmont raises an eyebrow
[Wren] says: Her breath grew strong her nails grew long
[Wren] says: Her hair lengthened into a tangled mane
Kahlian blinks.
[Wren] says: A blood-red scale grew over he face and arms and legs
Ingarath shivers.
Silanthos raises an eyebrow
[Wren] says: From between her shoulders, bursting the careful stitches of her gown, great pinioned wings began to sprout
Kahlian shakes her head sighing.
[Wren] says: And stretching behind her was a sinuous , twisting tail
Arahshiel gently pats Mistwalker.
[Wren] says: "Go!" the witch shouted triumphantly
Sethmont sighs
Trayce waves.
Kahlian nods at Trayce.
Ingarath greets Trayce warmly.
[Wren] says: Wind yourself around the rocks upon which this castle stands
Dagdara bows before Trayce.
Arahshiel smiles at Trayce.
Silanthos greets Trayce warmly.
Reynald waves at Trayce.
Trayce greets everyone with a hearty hello!
[Wren] says: What man will look at you now? What heart will love you?
Tweena waves at Trayce.
[Wren] says: When you were innocent and fair to behold you held every man's affection
Sethmont frowns and rubs his hair
Silanthos lets out a long, drawn-out sigh.
[Wren] says: But in this twisted scaly form you will command no kisses-
[Wren] says: only curses and the point of a sword
Kahlian frowns scooting closer to Sethmont.
Dagdara bows before Vadnais.
Silanthos greets Vadnais warmly.
[Wren] says: Even your father will despise you
Vadnais greets everyone warmly.
Sethmont glances back noticing Vad and smiles "Glad you could make it comrade"
Arahshiel smiles at Vadnais.
Trayce pets Amoracchius gently. Amoracchius purrs quietly...
[Vadnais] says: good to be here Seth
Kahlian nods happily in Vadnais' direction.
Meris smiles in greeting to the newcomers.
[Wren] says: When all the young men have died beneath your claws, and even the king's on is killed, then I shall claim first this castle, and then this kingdom for my own
[Sethmont] says: Heh. Now shh.. *goes back to listening*
Wren looks up with a smile before continuing the story
[Poynard] says: x
[Wren] says: The witch began to laugh and spin around the room
[Wren] says: She danced with shadows and bowed to the waning moon
[Wren] says: As she did so the great red dragon that had been Isabeau began to move
[Wren] says: She climbed clumsily out the window and coasted down on untried wings to settle on the cold stones
[Wren] says: And from its perch above the rocks a great white owl blinked its golden eyes before launching itself to fly out above the waves
[Wren] says: Morning came, a pale sun rising, shrouded by clouds
[Wren] says: But even more shrouded were the stones of the castle, around which the great red dragon wrapped itself
[Wren] says: Inside, Isabeau's father and all the servants felt their blood thin out
[Wren] says: their bones grow brittle
[Wren] says: their heartbeats slow
Kahlian frowns
[Wren] says: They grew weaker with each passing hour as if the dragon were draining them of all life
[Wren] says: That day when the young men of the kingdom came
[Wren] says: one, by one to court Isabeau
[Wren] says: the sight of the dragon- with its fierce red jaws, its mighty wings, and its cruel , slashing claws- sent each of them galloping home afraid
Sethmont hugs Kahlian tightly
[Wren] says: But later, shamed, one by one they returned with weapons to slay the dragon
[Wren] says: and rescue Isabeau and her father from the dragon's grasp
Kurlann gasps at Mistwalker.
[Wren] says: On the high road to the great stone castle, each suitor was met by the white owl
[Wren] says: who dove shrieking in their path and tried to bar the way
Dagdara tries to wipe a tear away while acting as if she had something in her eye
[Wren] says: or at the very least startle their horses into fleeing
[Wren] says: One by one the young men drove it off with blows and curses, eager to kill the giant dragon
[Wren] says: But however they tried to slay it,
[Wren] says: by spear or by stake
[Wren] says: by sword or by bow
[Wren] says: the young men died as young men will:
[Wren] says: carelessly, bravely and well
[Wren] says: No one was left to watch the red beast weep as it gnawed upon their bones
[Wren] says: Under the dragon's shadow, the castle and the entire kingdom seemed doomed
[Wren] says: At last the king's son, whose name was Irrylath, was summoned by his frightened father
[Wren] says: He returned from across the sea where he had gone to study
Reynald intertwines his fingers with Jaema's
[Wren] says: When his father had finished telling the tale of the hideous dragon that had laid siege to the castle where Isabeau and her father lived
[Wren] says: Irrylath saddled his good grey horse, and put a sword and dagger at his waist
[Wren] says: and rode off to meet the great red wyrm
Sethmont puts his arm around Kahlian's hip and holds her other hand squeezing it smiling
[Wren] says: As he turned onto the high road, the great white owl crossed before him
[Wren] says: The horse shied and it was all Irrylath could do to keep his seat
[Wren] says: But instead of striking out at the owl or cursing it, he calmed the horse and dismounted.
Kahlian smiles leaning in close.
[Wren] says: The snowy owl landed gently on his shoulder and to his great surprise began to speak into his great surprise began to speak into his ear in a sweet, pure voice
Silanthos quietly slips his hand into Arahshiel's.
[Wren] says: If the sword bites tail or fin
[Wren] says: Isabeau you will not win
[Wren] says: If the sword bites wing or tail
[Wren] says: Isabeau you'll surely fail
[Wren] says: But give the red wyrm kisses three
[Wren] says: And ISabeau you shall set free
[Wren] says: From his studies Irrylath was sure that such spells usually carried a price
[Wren] says: "what more?" he asked softly
[Wren] says: Ruffling it's feathers the owl launched itself from his shoulder and circled overhead
[Wren] says: Looking down on Irrylath it spoke again
[Wren] says: Give the red wyrm kisses three,
[Wren] says: Turned to stone you'll surely be
Silanthos frowns.
Kahlian frowns.
Kurlann gasps.
[Wren] says: Then it soared higher, catching a wind current that carried it toward the castle
Kurlann lets out a long, drawn-out sigh.
Tweena looks as if she's about to cry.
[Wren] says: Irrlyath rode after the owl
[Wren] says: As he got closer, he could see the dragon's bright red scales flashing in the son
[Wren] says: *sun
[Wren] says: Without thinking, he rode straight for the front gate
[Wren] says: But catching the dragon's smell, his horse reared suddenly and Irrylath was thrown to the ground
[Wren] says: He got to his feet, threw off his cloak, and drew his sword
Sethmont waves at Ellemire.
Meris nods to the newcomers.
Dagdara bows down graciously.
Lilleh lies down.
Silanthos greets the new-come elves
Kirak smiles.
Starden bows down graciously.
[Wren] says: The dragon unwrapped itself from the rocky face of the middle tower
Ellemire smiles.
Kurlann kicks off his boots and wriggles his toes.
[Wren] says: and launched its giant body into the air
[Wren] says: As the dragon hovered above him.
[Wren] says: Irrylath saw that whenever he raised his sword, the dragon advanced
[Wren] says: But when he lowered it, the dragon retreated
[Wren] says: The white owl's words came back to him
Silanthos smiles at Arahshiel.
[Wren] says: Once more he raised his sword. Roaring fire and smoke, the dragon plunged down toward him
[Wren] says: Irrylath drew a great breath. He knew what he had to do
[Wren] says: Using more courage than he thought he had, he threw the sword away
Kahlian winces
[Wren] says: The dragon banked suddenly and flew off
Sethmont kisses Kahlian’s cheek and holds her closer comforting her
[Wren] says: Staring through the smoke, Irrylath thought he saw only dragon, all talons and teeth and tail
[Wren] says: Then, remembering his lessons in sorcery, he tried to look beneath the wyrm form
[Wren] says: There he saw the faint outline of a slim, fair girl
[Wren] says: She was weeping tears of blood
[Wren] says: "Isabeau," he whispered
[Wren] says: And slowly, so as not to alarm the dragon, he took the dagger from his waist and threw it away as well
Kahlian frowns her eyes swelling in tears, a bit sad, a bit happy.
[Wren] says: "Come dragon, or dove, " he called his voice shaking " I would give you a token of my love"
[Wren] says: Then he opened his arms to his death
Kurlann sniff's.
Sethmont "Hey Hey... it's okay dear" *Kisses Kahlian’s hand and holds her smiling at her*
[Wren] says: The dragon dove straight for him, pulling up only at the last to backwing frantically and settle down by his side
[Wren] says: When it landed, it shook the earth
[Wren] says: It's head was high as the roof of a house, its jaws were large enough to roast an entire ox
[Wren] says: In its burnished scales, Irrylath could read his own face a hundred times
[Wren] says: He closed his eyes and bent to kiss the great beast.
[Wren] says: His lips touched the dragon's lips. And though he had expected the thin, cold mouth of a serpent,
[Wren] says: the touch was as warm and soft as a girl's
[Wren] says: Not knowing what to expect, he opened his eyes
[Wren] says: The dragon was still there before him, but a coldness was spreading up from his feet
[Wren] says: When he looked down, he saw that he had turned to stone from his toes to his waist
Kurlann tears up, blowing his nose with his beard.
Jaema blinks.
Sethmont gasps at Ellemire.
[Wren] says: He stared through the haze of dragon smoke and scale to the weeping girl beneath and kissed the dragon a second time
Sethmont gasps.
Kahlian frowns
Reynald ponders.
Ingarath sighs softly.
[Wren] says: The dragon's mouth was warmer still, but Irrylath felt the coldness spreading throughout his body, turning it to stone from the waist to neck
Lilleh squeaks
[Wren] says: Yet he could feel the beating of his own steady heart beneath the stone
[Wren] says: The dragon turned its sad, dark, weeping eyes on him
Kurlann thinks to himself, "Ye go' ta beat it lad!"
[Wren] says: "Do not mourn for me dragon" Irrylath said softly
[Wren] says: I only do what must be done
[Wren] says: Then for the third time, he closed his eyes and readied himself for the dragon's kiss
Kahlian cries softly.
[Wren] says: Since he could no longer move, the dragon came to him, its massive head gentle against his own
Sethmont comforts Kahlian.
[Wren] says: And this kiss was the sweetest kiss of all, for it was the last thing Irrylath knew
Sethmont cuddles up against Kahlian.
Sethmont hugs Kahlian.
Ingarath frowns.
Kirak takes the hand of Ellemire into his own.
[Wren] says: No sooner did their lips meet for the third time than the dragon's scales began to drop away
Kahlian leans on Sethmont looking at the ground.
Spindlecog advances on the Panda.
Poynard watches Spindlecog out of the corner of his eye...
[Wren] says: The dragon form peeled open and from it's center stepped Isabeau
[Wren] says: She wrapped herself in Irrylath's cloak
Spindlecog stares down at the Panda.
[Wren] says: Her hair was as light as the tops of the waves, but her eyes were as dark as the sea
Poynard draws his pipe out, packs it and smokes it, watching Spindlecog carefully...
Spindlecog takes a few more steps forward.
Ellemire leans closer to Kirak
[Wren] says: She touched Irrylath gently on his stone cheek and felt a tear beneath her fingertips
[Poynard] says: Lazarus...
Spindlecog perks his head up, then turns back to sit with Poynard.
[Wren] says: "I shall avenge you" she whispered to his stone ears.
Hiltz pokes Vadnais. Hey!
[Wren] says: Picking up his dagger and sword she marched into the castle
Hiltz pokes Sethmont. Hey!
Kahlian beckons Hiltz over.
Arahshiel winks slyly at Silanthos.
[Wren] says: Isabeau mounted the steps two at a time till she came to the tower room
Dagdara bows down graciously.
[Wren] says: The witch was standing by the window, staring into her crystal globe
[Wren] says: When Isabeau came through the door, a thousand tiny cracks spidered across the surface of the glass ball
[Wren] says: Looking up, the witch laughed
Veralia falls asleep. Zzzzzzz.
[Wren] says: "So Isabeau, you are to be my death. The glass did not tell me, but I can read it in your eyes
[Wren] says: You could not have done it before you had not the right fire for it nor the blood
Poynard falls asleep. Zzzzzzz.
[Sethmont] says: Kill the witch!
Kahlian nods at Sethmont.
[Wren] says: But what runs in your veins now is the legacy of all those rash young men you devoured
[Wren] says: Yet know this- whatever you do the prince is lost
Spindlecog takes the still burning pipe from Poynard and knocks it out on the grass.
[Wren] says: only the blood of the innocent young girl you once were can bring him back
Spindlecog sighs to himself, removing his goggles.
[Wren] says: She laughed and laughed until the walls of the tower room rang with the sound
Spindlecog falls asleep. Zzzzzzz.
Lilleh sits in suspense
Silanthos whispers into Arahshiel's ear.
Dagdara listens intently to Wren.
Ingarath throws a pebble at Spindlecog.
Arahshiel blushes.
Kahlian frowns
[Wren] says: Isabeau gave an awful cry, part dragon's curse, part maiden's prayer
[Wren] says: She flung the dagger as hard as she could
[Wren] says: It hit the witch in the shoulder with such force she staggered back, tumbled through the open window, and fell to the rocks below
Ingarath greets Spyridon warmly.
Meris smiles at Sirithil and Alerac.
Sirithil glances around for a place to sit.
Sethmont glances over and Spyridon
[Wren] says: Though Isabeau could not bear to look down , she hurled the sword after
Sirithil also notices the fire has gone out.
Spindlecog jumps up and goes off to relieve himself.
[Wren] says: For a long moment she waited for the sound of sword on stone
Alerac leans over to whisper to Meris.
Sethmont beckons Spyridon over.
Spyridon frowns deeply when he sees Sethmont and his lackeys and walks to the opposite side.
Arahshiel gulps and exhibits a fierce blush.
[Wren] says: When it did not come she smiled a dragon's smile and went back down the stairs
Alerac grins wickedly at Spyridon.
Spyridon smiles at Alerac.
[Wren] says: Opening the front doors, she walked to the statue of Irrylath and stared at it for a long long time
Starden cuddles up against Avrail.
Spindlecog falls asleep. Zzzzzzz.
[Wren] says: She was still standing there when the white owl flew back, settling again on Irylath's shoulder
Sirithil carefully eases into a seat next to Meris, her little dragon nestled on her lap.
[Wren] says: Isabeau was weeping as if her tears might wash away the stone
Sethmont waves at Sirithil.
Ellemire raises Kirak's hands to her lips and kisses his fingers softly
Sirithil waves at Sethmont.
Meris raises an eyebrow at Alerac, nodding.
[Wren] says: Remembering how the owl had scratched her, Isabeau whispered
[Wren] says: "that was the last bit of innocent blood I will ever shed, if only I could have it back
Reynald brings Jaema's hand up to his lips, kissing the back of it
[Wren] says: I would give it, every drop to have you alive and whole
Jaema smiles at Reynald.
[Wren] says: "The wish is the deed" spoke the owl in a voice both strong and pure "And so breaks the spell"
Silanthos gently squeezes Arahshiel's hand.
[Wren] says: The owl launched itself from Irrylath's shoulder into the sky and turning, it dove at the prince's face
[Wren] says: flying past in a swirl of feathers it raked its talons across one stone cheek
Ellemire gasps at Alerac.
[Wren] says: When the owl had passed, there stood Irrylath, alive and only slightly dazed, with a faint scar upon his cheek
Kurlann cheers!
Sirithil gazes around the circle, most of which is people she hasn't met.
Lilleh holds her breath
Dagdara cheers!
Jaema smiles
Ingarath smiles.
[Wren] says: remembering nothing after the dragon's final kiss
Silanthos cheers!
Kirak smiles.
Starden is filled with happiness!
Kahlian smiles.
Arahshiel is filled with happiness!
[Wren] says: What fasting and celebration occurred then! For seven days and seven nights
Tweena sniffs and wipes her eyes
[Wren] says: Until they were all thoroughly tired of it
[Wren] says: And when the king's son and Isabeau were married
Arahshiel shifts a little, looking oddly dazed.
Lilleh squeaks happily smiling a huge grin
[Wren] says: much to the surprise of the guests, Isabeau dressed din a gown of red
Ingarath chuckles softly.
[Kurlann] says: A foin color!
Kurlann coughs and rubs the back of his neck.
Starden agrees.
[Wren] says: And ever after, though others still called her Isabeau, remembering her innocent past
[Wren] says: Irrylath did not
Silanthos grins wickedly at Arahshiel.
Arahshiel runs a finger around the base of her neck.
[Wren] says: Delighting in her spirit and fire, which he had always known was hidden in her gentle form
[Wren] says: He called her his fierce guardian
[Wren] says: his mighty warrior
Avrail CLASPS sTARDEN'S HAND TIGHT.
[Wren] says: and his glorious dragon queen
[Wren] says: for all the long happy years they ruled the kingdom together
Ellemire smiles.
[Wren] says: And from time to time
Trayce cheers!
[Wren] says: by the light of the full moon
Kurlann cheers!
[Wren] says: you could still see a great white owl, riding the wind above the waves
[Wren] says: but never a word did he ever speak again
Wren closes the book and looks up
Silanthos applauds at Wren. Bravo!
Ingarath claps excitedly for Wren.

Poynard claps excitedly for Wren.
Ellemire claps excitedly for Wren.
[Kurlann] says: A foin tale, lass, well done!
Spindlecog is dead.
[Reynald] says: What a tale!
Kahlian claps excitedly for Wren.
[Trayce] says: Bravo! I arrived just in time!
Starden bows before Wren.
[Sirithil] says: Well, what I heard of it is good.
[Alerac] says: Nice hood, Nork.
[Lilleh] says: Wonderful!
[Wren] says: Well I can't take credit, it was merely a retelling
[Dagdara] says: It was all good, trust us!
[Wren] says: But I'm glad you enjoyed it
[Norkdink] says: Thanks
Ellemire greets everyone warmly.
Meris looks over her shoulder to Norkdink.
[Silanthos] says: Stay, Mistwalker
Jaema waves at Reynald.
[Kahlian] says: Very good, I enjoyed it deeply.
Arahshiel nods at Silanthos.
Norkdink nods at you.
[Sethmont] says: Wonderful story..
Kahlian thanks Wren.
Wren smiles at Norkdink.
Reynald waves goodbye to everyone. Farewell!
Sethmont claps excitedly for Wren.
Ellemire heart smiles, glad to have attended
You poke Norkdink. Hey!
Meris nods.
Dagdara gasps at Spyridon.
Kirak smiles at Veralia.
Ingarath looks around. "Well, I suppose we should see if anyone else has something to share...?"
[Kirak] says: [Darnassian] Shano ri do aman nor diel
Spyridon smiles a bit at Dagdara.
Spyridon then stands up
You tell Norkdink NO. Not going to happen.
Kurlann waves goodbye to everyone. Farewell!
[Spyridon] says: Um...I have a small story.
Norkdink sighs at you.
Ingarath claps excitedly for Spyridon.
Sirithil waves at Ferrah.
Ellemire waves at Kurlann.
[Spyridon] says: It's...er...
Spyridon swallows hard, fidgeting nervously.
[Lilleh] says: Wonderful dream for the a dreamers long nights
[Spyridon] says: It's not very good.
Sethmont claps excitedly for Spyridon.
[Sethmont] says: Tell us!
Sethmont cheers at Spyridon!
[Ingarath] says: Nonsense, tell us.
Corazon dismounts and allows her steed to graze nearby'
[Sirithil] says: Ah, there you are... come, sit.
[Spyridon] says: And...it's not a happy story, really...
Sethmont shoots Spyridon a look of interest
[Spyridon] says: It's a tale about revenge and...
[Sethmont] says: Tell us!
Corazon greets everyone warmly.
Arahshiel greets Corazon warmly.
[Lilleh] says: go ahead and tell it, not all stories have happy ending it's the tale of life
Warmahn greets everyone with a hearty hello!
Dagdara bows before Corazon.
[Sirithil] says: Mmm, a story of revenge.
Dagdara bows before Warmahn.
[Spyridon] says: How some people will go to any lengths to get back for wrongdoing...
Silanthos sits back down, draping an arm across Arahshiel's shoulder, pulling her close.
Warmahn bows down graciously.
Arahshiel leans into Silanthos.
Spyridon takes a deep breath, forcing himself to calm
Sirithil leans over and whispers to Ferrah.
Spindlecog is a corpse now.
Ellemire nods at Spyridon.
[Spyridon] says: Okay....
[Spyridon] says: Once, several years ago, there was a pirate.
[Poynard] says: An evil pirate?
[Spyridon] says: He was a very, very wicked man...
Sethmont waves at Alerac.
Ingarath mumbles. "Yarrrrrr."
Spyridon nods.
[Poynard] says: Ah. I see.
[Spyridon] says: He killed without reservation
Sethmont cuddles up against Kahlian.
Spindlecog has passed away.
[Spyridon] says: Looted, raped, pillaged...he made other pirates seem...friendly in comparison.
Kahlian smiles at Sethmont.
[Spyridon] says: He was a powerful man, large and strong
Sethmont looks away seeming to remember his past
[Spyridon] says: With dark, dark skin and the eyes of a hawk.
Meris gives Alerac a worried look.
Spindlecog is well again.
[Sethmont] says: This sounds a little to familiar...*grins a little*
Spyridon takes another deep breath
Arahshiel looks for something in her pack.
Sethmont quiets himself and listens again
[Spyridon] says: There was once a man who borrowed money from the pirate.
[Spyridon] says: A nice man, good and upstanding
[Spyridon] says: He had a wife, two sons
[Spyridon] says: But he had run into some trouble and begged for the pirate's help.
[Spyridon] says: The pirate gave the man a loan, and the man promised to pay him back.
[Spyridon] says: He had a year...a whole year to regain the money for the loan.
[Spyridon] says: But the pirate reneged.
Poynard nudges Spindlecog "Ah, the pirate was a loan-shark! Ha ha! Get it?"
Dagdara mumbles under her breath about trusting pirates
Poynard beams with pride.
[Spyridon] says: Six months, the pirate came banging on the man's door, demanding his money.
[Spyridon] says: The man could not give it, but he knew what the pirate wanted.
Spindlecog chuckles.
Kahlian snickers at Poynard.
[Spyridon] says: He sent his sons out to hide...but the pirate's men got ahold of the older boy.
[Spyridon] says: When...when the man couldn't pay, they killed the terrified lad, forcing his father to watch him die.
Corazon smiles at Warmahn
Sirithil gasps softly.
Spyridon swallows hard again, rubbing his forehead.
Arahshiel clears her throat quietly.
Kahlian frowns with disappointment at Spyridon.
[Spyridon] says: They took his wife away...
Lilleh cries.
[Spyridon] says: And then killed the man in his home
Kahlian shakes her head.
Ingarath sighs.
[Spyridon] says: And burned the home to the ground, leaving without a second thought.
Avrail sniffles.
Sethmont has seen that happen many times...
Arahshiel frowns.
Warmahn smiles at Corazon.
[Spyridon] says: The younger son, though...he managed to escape.
Ellemire eyes fill with tears.
Sirithil has never seen the sense in such retributions, as it guarantees one will never get one's money.
Berethen kneels down.
[Spyridon] says: He saw the face of the pirate and he vowed that day, that the pirate would pay for his crime. For slaughtering so cold-heartedly.
Spyridon 's eyes darken as he speaks.
Corazon is shocked at the grief and pain the young man must have felt
Lilleh hugs her sister. Ellemire crying too
[Spyridon] says: The pirate sailed on for years.
[Spyridon] says: Eventually, he settled down and tried to make an honest life for himself.
Ellemire reaches over to hold her sister's hand.
Spindlecog suits up.
Meris looks expectantly at Alerac.
Silanthos draws Arahshiel a little closer.
[Spyridon] says: Some people did accept him. It took time, but he gained their trust.
Sirithil notices Spindlecog is no longer dead.
Poynard looks to Spindlecog sadly, his bottom lip quivering.
[Poynard] says: Help me up.
Spindlecog helps Poynard up.
Lilleh takes her hand
[Spyridon] says: He lived...fairly happily, forgetting his past crimes and sins.
Poynard grunts and sighs and coughs as he stands, leaning on Spindlecog and his cane.
Spyridon 's eyes begin to glitter darkly as he continues.
[Spyridon] says: But he'd forgotten all about the man who he'd killed.
[Spyridon] says: The good man, who the pirate had brutally murdered...
Sirithil hopes this isn't another one of those stories where the protagonist turns out to be the person telling the story.
Alerac smiles apologetically at Spyridon as he stands up to leave.
[Spyridon] says: He forgot, until the man's younger son found him.
[Spyridon] says: The young man had become a grown lad.
[Spyridon] says: But his hate had driven him to...to unfathomable lengths
Ingarath coughs politely.
Norkdink is a pimp
[Spyridon] says: He had, in the name of revenge, traveled north and sworn his allegiance to the Scourge
Wren agrees with Norkdink.
Meris looks over to Norkdink and smirks.
Norkdink grins wickedly.
[Sirithil] says: Oh, wow.
Dagdara frowns.
[Spyridon] says: All for the sake of finding the pirate and killing him.
[Spyridon] says: He spent nights at a time awake...
[Silanthos] says: Huh....that's a twist.
[Spyridon] says: Imagining how he would kill the pirate, how he would have his revenge.
Starden licks his lips.
Avrail smiles at Starden.
[Spyridon] says: One fateful night, the pirate was out in Westfall, watching the sunset.
[Spyridon] says: The young man had stalked him out there...And he got the jump on the pirate.
Silanthos smiles at Arahshiel.
Meris leans back and whispers to Sirithil.
Sirithil whispers back to Meris.
[Spyridon] says: The pirate was knocked out. When he came to, he was bound, gagged, trussed like an animal
Ingarath greets Devi warmly.
Wren greets Devi warmly.
[Spyridon] says: The last thing he saw were the young man's eyes, eyes filled with hatred, anger, vengeance, and fury...before the cold steel of the young man's knife plunged into his chest.
Devi smiles at Ingarath.
Spyridon swallows again, taking a breath.
Dagdara listens intently to Spyridon.
[Spyridon] says: The pirate was animated later...and that's how I heard the story
Wren smiles at Devi.
Ingarath blinks.
[Silanthos] says: Oh, my.
[Spyridon] says: He became a Forsaken...confused, lost, killed by vengeance
Devi smiles at Wren.
Corazon cringes at the thought of the animation of the dead
Norkdink is one hell of a badass
[Sethmont] says: And this Pirates name is?
[Spyridon] says: And he could not fathom that the hatred of that pirate could drive someone to such lengths.
Spyridon shrugs at Sethmont
Warmahn send a comforting look to Corazon, slightly touching her hand.
Sethmont nods at Spyridon.
[Spyridon] says: I don't know. I heard the story from someone who heard it...supposedly from the pirate.
[Sethmont] says: I see..
[Corazon] says: you don't think .. no .. it couldn't be
[Sirithil] says: In all honesty, I can't say I feel too badly for the pirate.
Spyridon nods
[Sethmont] says: True...he deserved what he got.
[Silanthos] says: Cruelty begets cruelty.
[Sethmont] says: But some Pirates, are actually here to help.
[Spyridon] says: The story tells us...We should be careful who we commit wrongs to.
Dagdara nods at Spyridon.
[Sirithil] says: A wise moral, that.
[Corazon] says: do you think that hideous brigand Van Cleef?
Norkdink rolls his eyes
[Lilleh] says: true
[Spyridon] says: Because one never knows to just what lengths someone will go to in order to get revenge.
Ingarath nods.
[Ingarath] says: Quite right, Spyridon.
Ellemire nods at Spyridon.
Spyridon takes a deep, deep breath of relaxation and sits, a bit giddy with nervousness.
Avrail winks slyly at Starden.
Lilleh nods.
Sethmont looks at Spyridon and nods smiling warmly knowing what he is meaning
Corazon claps excitedly for Spyridon.
Dagdara claps excitedly for Spyridon.
Sethmont claps excitedly for Spyridon.

[Ingarath] says: Ah yes...here we are.
Devi blinks at Ingarath.
Meris smiles apologetically at Norkdink,
[Ingarath] says: This...came to me suddenly. I just wrote it down...I don't really know where it came from.
Ingarath clears his throat.
[Sirithil] says: Inspiration! Lovely. ^_^
[Ingarath] says: Light grows dim
[Ingarath] says: In the absence of heroes,
[Ingarath] says: A lone figure on faraway mountain
[Ingarath] says: Raises hands to dark sky, uttering atrocities.
[Ingarath] says: Nexus, terminus, focus point
[Ingarath] says: Approaching rapidly, faster than any tram.
[Ingarath] says: First there was one,
[Ingarath] says: Now there are many,
[Ingarath] says: Now perhaps...one again.
[Ingarath] says: Stand in futile defense
[Ingarath] says: of a sovereign right to exist and thrive,
[Ingarath] says: as others throw life away eagerly,
Sethmont greets Alerac warmly.
Lilleh smiles, bows thankfully then waves goodbye
[Ingarath] says: as if it were old, rusty gear works.
[Ingarath] says: Well, perhaps it is, after all -
[Ingarath] says: If that's what we all want,
[Ingarath] says: cheap life, cheap women, even cheaper men,
[Ingarath] says: All the brilliant wonders of a postwar economy.
[Ingarath] says: Cast yourself down the steps, then,
[Ingarath] says: Thirteen by thirteen interlock,
Nellisynthia huuff puff puffs.
[Ingarath] says: Spears at the bottom, gnashing teeth,
[Ingarath] says: Your blood will flow to a higher art.
Dagdara bows before Nellisynthia.
[Ingarath] says: Serve a dark master for a day, perhaps,
Sethmont greets Nellisynthia warmly.
[Ingarath] says: Or a week, even a month, or a year,
Sethmont greets Hiltz warmly.
[Ingarath] says: Throw it away - it's only gearwork!
[Ingarath] says: Return to triple angle, begin again.
[Ingarath] says: The tentacles grip and pulsate
[Ingarath] says: with dark, demonic power,
[Ingarath] says: gripping a seduced populace,
[Ingarath] says: who succor like crazed whelplings
[Ingarath] says: at the blackened, blistered altar of Spectacle.
[Ingarath] says: Where, in fact, are the heroes?
[Ingarath] says: Where is the opposition to Spectacle?
[Ingarath] says: Fivefold deployment of hallowed craft and art:
Kahlian looks back and smiles at Hiltz
[Ingarath] says: Inspiration, Cleverness, Love, Light, and Respect.
[Ingarath] says: Interweave to defeat truncated cube,
[Ingarath] says: Interweave to free the people,
[Ingarath] says: Life no longer as cheap gearwork,
[Ingarath] says: But as precious fire - as all that Is, should Be.
[Ingarath] says: For there is a certain power in that,
[Ingarath] says: Find glory in Her true art - Love,
[Ingarath] says: and cast aside all false things,
[Ingarath] says: turning your face to the gentle moonlight.
[Ingarath] says: And this too, like all things, shall pass,
[Ingarath] says: A time approaching slowly indeed for a Hero,
[Ingarath] says: One who wielding Will and Will alone,
[Ingarath] says: will enter the arena to conquer.
[Ingarath] says: They will fall as chaff
[Ingarath] says: Screaming for their dark protectors,
[Ingarath] says: finding nothing, their power utterly silent,
[Ingarath] says: Led into a blind alley by a crazed madman.
[Ingarath] says: As They arise to claim frustrated revenge,
[Ingarath] says: I will laugh and cheer
[Ingarath] says: as the Spectacle eats itself, finally,
[Ingarath] says: and all twisted things quiver and finally die.
[Ingarath] says: In that vacuum, perhaps will emerge
[Ingarath] says: A new order of Light, and Love,
[Ingarath] says: Or at least perhaps, a balance,
[Ingarath] says: against darker elements - for a time.

[Corazon] says: and to give her a warm welcome
Ingarath grins wickedly at Corazon.

Silanthos whispers "Wimp"
Dagdara blushes.
Warmahn welcomes Dagdara.
[Corazon] says: that is all I wanted to say :)

[Alerac] says: No stories, then?
Rook waves at Sirithil.
[Meris] says: Hmmm... I can always read other people's poetry.
[Rook] says: Hai lass.
[Sirithil] says: Evening, Rook. Come, join us?
[Meris] says: Sometimes I pick up interesting things in the Stormwind libraries.
[Rook] says: Looks a tad crowded.
[Norkdink] says: Like books?
A sly smirk spreads across Norkdink's face.
Ingarath laughs softly at Norkdink.
Sirithil frowns a bit. Looks around. Concedes Rook's point.
Devi grins.
[Meris] says: Books and lots and lots of dust, Nork.
[Norkdink] says: Ah, and I thought your hair was getting grey
Ingarath coughs politely.
[Meris] says: Alright, the rest of the crowd is sleepin it seems
Alerac falls asleep. Zzzzzzz.
Wren comforts Devi.
[Norkdink] says: You should dance
[Meris] says: Point taken. And no dancing.
Devi sighs to Wren.
[Alerac] says: Anyone? Any stories?
[Meris] says: I'll read something then, I suppose. It's a bit flowery though.
Norkdink lets out a long, drawn-out sigh.
[Sirithil] says: Go on, Meris.
[Ingarath] says: Flowery?
[Arahshiel] says: Flowery?
Sirithil smiles.
Dagdara extracts a small flask from her bag and pours some wine into a small bowl for her panda
[Norkdink] says: It's a book on herbalism
Spyridon smiles brightly and settles in to listen.
[Ingarath] says: Who are you, and what have you done with Meris?
[Meris] says: Again, it's not mine. ((It's Keats))
Sirithil is jealous of Dagdara's panda.

Meris pores through her packs and tries to find something
Meris gives Norkdink a kick.
Sirithil leans over to Ferrah again.
Norkdink rubs his behind
[Alerac] says: That's a pretty short Poem. "There was a gnome from Gnomeregan. He kept hitting on me. I castrated him. The end."
[Norkdink] says: Good thing I'm wearing plate
Arahshiel smiles at Alerac.
Spyridon grins again at Alerac.

[Norkdink] says: That's the one about Spindlecog isn't it
[Alerac] says: Yeah, it is.

[Alerac] says: Yours has a lot more liberal use of the word "Fuck."
[Meris] says: ... alright...
Nellisynthia blinkblinks. "oy ... reminds me of the story I heard up at tha Amberstill ranch."
Devi pulls her hip flask from its pouch and sips carefully.
[Meris] says: ... When the melancholy fit shall fall
[Meris] says: Sudden from heaven like a weeping cloud,
Wren grins wickedly at Devi.
[Meris] says: That fosters the droop-headed flowers all
[Meris] says: And hides the green hill in an April shroud
Wren hands Devi her own flask "try this instead"
Devi taps her flask and nods with a grin.
[Meris] says: Then glut thy sorrows on a morning rose
[Meris] says: Or on the rainbow of the salt sand-wave
[Meris] says: Or on the wealth of globed peonies
[Meris] says: Or if thy mistress some rich anger shows
[Meris] says: Emprison her soft hand, and let her rave
[Meris] says: And feed deep, deep upon her peerless eyes
Meris takes in a deep breath and continues.
[Meris] says: She dwells in beauty, beauty that must die
[Meris] says: And joy, whose hand is ever at his lips
[Meris] says: Bidding adieu; and aching pleasure nigh
Arahshiel listens intently.
Avrail snuggles close to Starden, holding her hand in his.
[Meris] says: Turning to poison while the bee-mouth sips

[Meris] says: Veiled melancholy has her sovereign shrine
[Meris] says: Though seen of none save him whose strenuous tongue
[Meris] says: Can burst joy's grape against his palate fine
[Meris] says: His soul shall taste the sadness of her might
[Meris] says: And be among her cloudy tapestries hung.

Devi frowns.
Arahshiel grins wickedly at Silanthos.

Nellisynthia continues, The words floating like the mist across the lake, "~ ...There we were, within the Spire, of black ... Realizing he didn't care ... And when I spoke my piece ... In a fit he did me release ... Good-bye Sly ... sorry I won't kiss you ...

Nellisynthia jerks her hand back as she fires her imaginary hunter's gun. *** BANG ***
Nellisynthia then stands tall, crossing her arms, one foot tapping out a quarter time beat.
