April Fool’s

It’s April 1, and my car is covered in a layer of snow and ice. Does this count?

The lack of spring weather is starting to seriously annoy me. It’s part of an ongoing trend that seems to result in the slow extension of New England winters; as if these weren’t long enough. The best part is, it seems to be colder in the fall, and earlier in it, so entire swathes of the year are now blocked out for doing anything useful. Everyone I know enters a lethargic type of hibernation come November; by January, you would have an easier time convincing a Red Sox fan to root for the Yankees than get most people out to do something. The constant barrage of ice, 24 inches of snow, and 40mph winds doesn’t really do a whole lot to help, either.

I’ve lived in Massachusetts for nearly eight years now, and I’m pretty sure this last winter was the most ridiculous.

For now, it’s time to clean my car off for the nth time, and wonder if it’ll ever be nice out. All I want to do is go for a walk without wearing a coat, man. Is that too much to ask?

Oh yeah, also, Matt has helped me make a nice website for Merlin. I’m going to be making an 0.1 release soon, which I’ll announce in a few places. Hopefully it will attract some attention and get other people working on it.
